For that price, I'd want it to be 8K

      C9 ~ $2700 pre March.

Upvoted because someone is bound to bring up historical pricing.

(Don't buy gold. Was cheaper before.)

i clearly remember $2500 for 65 inch c9, i cant find it though it was right around Christmas time

  • Got the 55 C9 now which is great. I want a 65 and was trying to get a C9 but no one has stock! 65 CX is closer to $4000, but does anyone know how the BX 65 would compares to the C9 65? Might just grab the BX 65 instead of trying to find a C9 65.

    • You wont find a B9 or C9 anywhere now (might get lucky and find a refurb though), I tried and couldn't find any so just bit the bullet and got 65 BX. It arrived yesterday and spent the night playing/watching and I'm very impressed so far.

The C9 would have a faster processer I believe, but last years generation so no idea how it compares. Heres a comparison from the LG Website -
      https://www.lg.com/au/compare?bizType=B2C

      • Tried calling a few stores, JB HiFi, TGG and Harvey Norman for C9 but it's not available anywhere. C9 is α9 Gen 2 compared to BX α7 Gen 3. α9 is obviously faster no matter the generation. B is budget range model from LG. Still confused as to go for BX or CX ($500 difference for a 65 inch model).

  • Need to wait until BX down to like B9 price last year.

I am waiting for the CX to get to this price for my new house.

  • Might be waiting a while, more than likely these will get cheaper later in the year but I would be surprised if they got down to last years 9 series prices.

At the rate, I'll be an OLED owner is 2024!

    • 2024 OLED? Pff. That's like 2020 CRT.

It's all about "Insert Techy name". Just wait a few more years for the price to drop.

Yes my Panasonic plasma refuses to die.Just wondering where I can get a Panasonic oled tv

    • +1

Not many places, you’ll be lucky if you find a display model or maybe refurbished one somewhere. You’d probably have to call around every JB, HN and GGs around I reckon.

Tv is one of those devices people usually glad when it dies . Pretty weird if you ask me

    • +1

Your plasma Panasonic TV was manufactured by Panasonic, but all Panasonic's OLED TV panels are outsourced.

FYI, LG is the only commercial OLED TV manufacturer. They supply essentially all the other manufactureres (including Sony, Sharp, Hisense, Huawei etc etc) as well as Panasonic.

Samsung is the only other main OLED producer, but for smartphones, not TVs.

  • Maybe wait for some post lockdown deal's. 6 weeks after JB hi-fi opens again in Melbourne.

  • I don't know how long i can wait, seeing this in HN the picture looked amazing
    Any glare/reflection issues?
How does the remote and homepage menu etc feel?

  • Looking towards the PS5 - does the CX have any significant advantage over the BX? I will game on it 85% time and the other bit just Netflix or movies so not sure if the extra processor of CX will be required or noticed?
    TIA

  • this is a good sign, so i think we will see last years OLED 65" 2.5k prices again by November for sure

    • +1

      um… absolutely not.

  • If it's with an interest free offer, you'll probably get a better price offering cash. They need to bake in the cost of an "interest free loan" from a financer into the price. These loans are more expensive because they have higher risk of defaults, say relative to a mortgage so the interest/cost is higher. You should be able to bargain the price down for cash.

Otherwise wait for some competion in the market to drive the price down. I think their arguably industry leading OLED panel is driving demand, and I wonder if with people spending so much time at home now, they justify a TV upgrade to OLED? It maybe when even previous year's models are hard to come by.
