  • what are your Compostable Bags made of?

    • Hi there. Our biobags are made form plant-based materials and certified compostable and biodegradable to global and Australian standards. Most of the bags are also certified home compostable and worm farm tolerant.

      • Most of the bags are also certified home compostable and worm farm tolerant.

Are they both AS4736 and AS5810 compliant?

Our council requires both of these be printed on the bags.

  • +1

So some are made in Europe and some in Australia, so it depends on exactly which product. The ones made in Europe with have their own standard printed, which are compatible to AS, and the Australian made ones have AS4736 and ABAP10039 and HOMES0014. They also have MATER-BI printed on them, I hope this helps.

    • Our local council specifically requires they have printed on them that they comply with AS4736 and AS5810.

      • If you have a look at the individual listings for each compostable bag, at the bottom of the description there is the standard that is printed on each bag.

        • Do you have any that comply?

          • @jv: I don't OP sells any

          • @jv: I can't speak to what each individual Council in Australia requires, however, the European Standard (EN 13432 – 2006) is the most widely recognised of all the standards, with the American Standard (ASTM D6400) and Australian Standards (AS 4736 -2006) based on it. I would suggest you check with your Council, as I'm sure that AS4736 and ABAP10039 and HOMES0014 and the EU standards would satisfy their criteria.
