      • i just tried and code did not work on Edu store ..

    • How did you manage to get Samsung Care+ for free? Does this only apply to Note 20 or does it apply for Note 20+ as well? Thanks

      • it might've been because i expressed interest for the event.

it applies for both i'm pretty sure it applies for both Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra

      • +1

people who had reregistered for event, got it.

    • i got this too. This is an extremely good deal. It means you can swap it for a brand new device. When you decide you want to change phone, you can swap it for a brand new one and sell it at brand new price, not second hand.

      • +2

It's actually not a brand new device. Found this in the fine print,

A swap device is usually a refurbished device of the same model as your current device. If this is not available, we’ll provide a comparable model.

        • oh wow. That's pretty misleading. That deflates my excitement a lot.

        • +2

On top of that you pay $129 to swap devices.

  • -2

    Moving on from Samsung.
Exynos is (profanity) rubbish for a higher price.
Literally worse performance, worse battery life, worse photo quality.
Bullshit how badly we get ripped off in regards to this.

    • Hmm…have you got any suggestion on what to get instead? one that doesn't have worse performance, worse battery and worse photo?

      • The SD version of the same model I'm assuming

        • I suggest people should protest by not buying.

      • -1

Literally any other android phone company that will just give us a normal snapdragon processor.

  • +2

Exynos = no, thanks. Not enough reasons to spend the money.

Will wait for the Pixel 5 (October?), hoping that known issues will be addressed.

    • +2

      haha pixel addressing issues

      • If they want my money, they will have to… Unless you have privileged information that you wanna share, let's wait and see… I am actually quite happy with my P20 Pro, but after more than 2 years it's time to move on, and I believe Pixel 5 might be the one.

    • +1

they just have to NOT F*** UP the battery life and they will have a great selling phone :)

      • Exactly. That's one of the main points for me too.

  • How come the Note10+ price hasnt dropped yet

    • Probably because if you want a phone NOW they can get you for a few more $

    • Two months time you'll start to see the bargains I'd say, that's when id switch to the note10+

  • +2

Waiting for Surface Duo rumoured to be releasing soon. Been with Samsung for a while but am always left disappointed with their lack of software updates after 2 years.

    • +1

It now 3 years for the flagship range, s10 series and newer.

  • Was just browsing the education store, noticed that new Galaxy Watch 3 is 30% off. Still expensive, but for anyone interested it is there.

  • Don't know if anybody else has already asked this question.

But is Note 20 Ultra display 2k at 120hz, or you have to choose either 2k at 60hz or 1080p at 120hz?

    Thanks.

    • 1080p 120hz, 2k 60hz.

      • thanks.

If that's the case, I don't think the Note 20 worth any recommendation at this price. Note 20 Ultra is OK though. But it's just a OK.

        • Yeah I agree with you too. Note 20 ultra/s20 ultra should be 2k 120hz.. but I guess they will enable it for the next generation :(

  • How long does it take to receive the $50 off code? I signed up yesterday and haven’t received mine.

    • 48 hours atleast. You can also contact them, if its not recieved in 48 hours.

    • Signed up a couple days ago and still haven't received mine yet either… Have you got yours yet?

  • anyone got a code for 50% !! PLEASE !! Orz!!

    • The word going on Optus' internal Yammer is that Samsung has stopped doing the 50% off offers going forward.
It seems that the Galaxy S20 was the last device Samsung was willing to sell telco staff at half price.

      • thanks for the intel

      • Probably too many telco staff abused the code and flood the gumtree, affecting their partner sales (i.e Officeworks, JBs and etc) ?

      • Still no news regarding 50% off.

        • +1

Samsung backtracked a bit, telco staff get 35% off.

          • @fgghjjkll: This is the response I got from Samsung too. For Telco staff the discount is now 35% off! Unfortunately, not as enticing as the 50% off, especially when the cheapest Note 20 Ultra starts from $1849.

            • @silverathlon1: would you know how long it takes to get this voucher/code? Mate has been waiting from last 3-4 days, and no email confirmation yet.

              • +1

@interstellar: They send out the vouchers manually and in batches. Your mate will get them soon

          • @fgghjjkll: Is the code for Samsung EPP or the Public Samsung Site?

Also does it qualify got Pre-Order Bonuses?

            • @RichardL: Sorry to late to answer.
But it does come with Uv sterlizer but not eligible for bud live or bud+

  • +1

Is it worth spending a little more for the 5g model in terms of resale value after a year or two? I don't have much use or care for 5g but wondering if it matters when it comes to resale

    • Imho, android phone will have very poor resale value regardless.

    • +2

I'd get the 5G Note 20 Ultra as it comes with 12GB Ram, the 4G model comes with 8GB

      • +2

I can't believe you only get 8GB RAM for a phone that costs $1849 retail! C'mon Samsung!

      • I heard 5g isn't that great right now because it hasn't fully rolled out yet. So I was planning to get the note 20 ultra 4g… Would you reckon getting the s20+ instead?

        • S20+ is miles better than the vanilla Note 20. Screen is a QHD on the S20+ were it's a 1080p on the Note 20

  • Anyone has a code for Note 20 (4G) that I can use? Sadly i don't have an edu.au email :(

  • FYI, base model with snapdragon 865+ will have lower memory 128G and no free AKG headphone in the box. You will see from multiple YouTube unbox videos.

    • lower memory 128G

      You mean storage?

      • Yep storage.

  • Anybody able to find a good deal on the Note 10? I waited for the release of the Note 20 in the hope prices would drop and suddenly there is not stock anywhere and those that have the price is the same as the Note10.
There was a deal on the Samsung Education store but expired so i missed that.

  • I've read all the note 20 posts on ozbargain and came to conclusion that this works out to be best price for me. I just bought it. If you dont need a lot of internet, I think this is best. But without the extra buds live.

  • Just pre ordered the Note 20 ultra, now it says ships on 28 August, which is Friday, so likely will get it 31/8 or 1/9 :)

    • Just wondering do they take the payment straight away? or when they ship?

      • They do, unlike Apple only charge when it gets dispatched.

  • Hi guys,
Hoping to get the N20 ultra asap as my n8 is dying on me. Just need help deciding whether to get the 5G with 12gb RAM or the 4G with 8GB RAM. I hope to use wireless DEX and wasn't sure if larger RAM = better performance.
I know 5G is not really usable for me at the moment. So, if 12gb ram is better I'll just have to switch off 5G.

    Thanks

    • I got my Note 20 ultra 5G model 4 days ago and battery life is quite bad.

With 120 Hz and 5G on the phone needs to charged twice a day with light usage. Barely getting 3.5 hours SoT. Everything else is great about the phone though!

      • Urgh great. Hopefully it settled down and starts getting better battery life

      • Hey whirlforce, I was wondering have you tried if you drop down to 60Hz, how many hours of SOT are you getting?

Is your phone getting hot? The demo one I played with in the shop got quite warm after about 15min of testing.

        • Yeah battery life is better with 60 Hz and 5G off. I get around 4.5 hours SoT with average use (a few phone calls, YouTube, web browsing, 35% screen brightness and no gaming).

But you shouldn't have to turn off features on a $2k phone to get decent battery life.

Generally there's no overheating issue. It does get a bit warm during camera use and gaming though.

      • Did you know it has lower battery capacity than S20 Ultra? 4500 vs 5000mAh

        https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=10261&idPhone…

      • Thank you, really appreciate you taking the time to reply. Been really worried cause there is a lot of complaints about the phone. Might just grab the 4G variant for now and upgrade next year if it's any better 🤞🤞

  • Anyone has the free Samsung Care+ code that doesn’t prepare to get the phone willing to share?

    • I think it has expired but you can have mine. I couldn't stack it with my employee EPP discount.

      N2F-GCNE-LRBC-ESC5

      • Thanks mate!

  • Anyone got case recommendations? Debating whether to pay a big premium for the genuine Samsung leather case or just go for a cheap clear case. Currently using a tempered glass back case on my S20 Ultra which feels nice as it's glass but adds a lot of bulk. Have never spent more than about $20 on a case in the past either

    • Hi buddy I'm using a Pitaka Case. It's super slim with Aramid similar to Carbon fibre. Had it for my IPhone 11 Pro after I tried Rhinoshield and Spigen. Got it straight away when I ordered my Note 20 Ultra.
It is not the cheapest but if you like the quality it can be the only case you need for the whole life of the phone.
Use my link for 10% discount.

      https://share.ipitaka.com/x/CBguIF

  • Unfortunately, it's a bit more expensive on the Australian Government EPP.

    Note 20 = $1,274.15
    Note 20 Ultra = $1,571.65
    Note 20 Ultra 5G = $1,699.15
