Samsung Note20 Ultra 5G Black/White/Bronze $1,329< on Telstra $69/M 12-Month Contract (> $414 ETC) + Bonuses @ The Good Guys

200

< you can pay just $1,262.55 (only when you already have TGG gift cards available, or you can save $50 max due to Suncorp App T&C of purchase $1,000 max per week/month and $5,000 max per year) if pay with 5% discounted TGG eGift Cards purchased on Suncorp App
NOTE: Bonuses include pre-order bonus Samsung Buds Live earphones RRP $319 + Telstra Plus points + Telstra free stuff like Binge subscription etc. Plan includes Unlimited calls/txts + 60GB data with 5G (no excess data charge, just capped at 1.25Mpbs after 60GB used)

This is what I am going to do, sign up on Monday (weekends is tricky with port in) and pay $1,329 for pre-order when port in successful, then claim Bonus Buds Live and cancel plan. Better go with Bronze since this is the colour of Note20 series ^_^ and price of this model is … higher with outright price, don't know why. Possibly cost $1,329 + $414 (and possibly a bit more due to pre-order period, or best to sign up just before 20th Aug) for $1,999 + $319 value, or even stick with plan so basically Telstra pays for 5G mobile service for a year with no excess data charge + Telstra free stuff like Binge subscription etc :)

One thing to consider, you can get this phone full outright on the Samsung Partner Portal for $1,699.15.

    • +2

with no bonus Buds Live though I guess? also, it is best to stick on the plan, works out as free mobile service for a whole year when Bonus Buds Live factored in :)

      • +2

There's cheaper mobile service out there though I guess?

        • +1

not with 5G Telstra + no excess data charge (only capped at 1.25Mbps after 60GB) and free stuff from Telstra like Binge 6-month subscription etc

          • +9

@webtherapist: Thank God I don't need any of those. Ill stick to boost.

            • +1

@michaelTito: You musn't use a lot of data then, I have boost for the folks but I wouldn't cope. In fact the only thing I use is data on my phone these days, normal calls and sms are going the way of the dodo.

        • +1

AND save another 5% with TGG gift card from Suncorp App :)

          • +1

@webtherapist: don't forget free $12.50 unlimited discounted movie tickets. which is why i stay with telstra/optus. you save way more than on a low budget plan if u have a partner and go movie dates.

    • +1

it's 1599.20 on the Edu store, stack with the $50 signup voucher to get 1549.20 and the buds live is $223.30, so all up $1772.50

      • works out the same with ETC, but if you don't mind keeping the plan then you can assume yourself paying Samsung stuff with FREE Telstra 5G plan for a year :)

    • +1

How do I go about doing this?

  • +1

    Does this plan include 5G?

    • +1
      • +4

trust me you won't want 5g, i have 5g. areas are extremely limited. drains your battery like a bitch. third, you don't need it unless you are an esports gamer.

        • Please does anyone know it the 5G model was including more RAM or am I wrong?
Anyway, if battery use is concerned I guess 5G can be easily switched off in the phone settings..

          • @cheapminchia: Yes, I just found out that the LTE version is only 8gb and the 5g is 12gb. Thought they were the same…
Also, I heard 5g is useless for the next couple years until it's fully rolled out and not only available for top (expensive) plans.

what I love about this Note20 is wireless Dex

    • +1

The wiree dex itself needs improvement

      • +1

yea, great in theory. but in reality, you need a compatible samsung tv that hasn't even been released yet.

  • +2

    can’t image the battery life…

    5G + exynos chipset + 120hz screen

    Anyone reckon ?

    • +3

Adaptive 120hz so should be better than S20 ultra which was already good

    • +1

Has adaptive refresh rate though, so its not always 120hz

      Have to see in reviews

    • +1

you can adjust the refresh rate. you can turn off 5g. it has great battery life, using note 10+ 5g.

  • +1

How pre order works with port in? Ported in and got charged only when we received the phone and the sim card right?

    • +1

when your number ported in successfully, you can then purchase the phone with $1,329. better do the porting on week days like Mon-Wed. also, purchase $1,000 worth of TGG egift cards (x2 $500) for $950 to pay, that save you another $50 ^_^

      • +1

Thanks for the tip. I was under impression that they are not available now and next couple weeks/months, like iphone when announced/released.

  • +1

Can you activate the plan on esim? and use the nano sim slot for current number.

    • +3

I don't see why you can't, I did it with my iPhone 11 Pro Max, all you gotta do is contacting Telstra to organise an eSIM pack for you or you can just get in-store for them to do it

  • +1

Anyone from Telstra knows that if these JB hi-fi/ TGG plans are applicable with staff discount?

    • +1

Yes,you’ll get 25% off the plan cost.

      • +1

Awesome well going to score free phone with Zing points

        • +1

You have $1329 plus etc in zing points??

        • +1

Holy jesus how many times have you been "appreciated"? (Zing doesnt exist anymore).

Zing usedto be $50 zing now i think its $25 per appreciate

          • +1

@ippy: Yeah got around 2k points

          • +1

@ippy: Yeah appreciate sorry haven't redeemed them since Zing

          • +1

@ippy: Yeah when they converted Zing to appreciate had about 700 appreciate points been waiting to redeem them, bill is already in credit from previous redemption, so just been accumulating them.

            • +1

@777: omg I never get zinged/appreciated :( my area kinda sucks like that (and there are fu ck all permies where I'm at)

  • +1

Can I port in from Boost?

    • +1

No. Boost and Belong are considered Telstra customers.

    • +1

no. you can try to port out of Boost to any non-Telstra or Aldi prepaid but now they do check if you are with any of those Telstra for the last 30 days. Or, you can obtain a new number, then ask Telstra to issue eSIM to utilise data and keep using your main physical sim slot for main number

  • +1

Is the 256 or 512Gb. any chance of getting the 512Gb?

    • +1

256GB, I'm not sure, but be nice to staff and ask if they can :). alternatively I guess you can organise this just before 20th Aug, don't open the phone when you receive it later (don't claim bonus Buds Live too) and return in store for refund credit so you can put extra for 512GB model :)

      • +1

factoring in the discount, it does seem still expensive to splash 1700 on a phone even if port out immediately during these times, don't you think. Unless you work for a large company with high pay.

Besides, unlike last years note 10, the note 20 is the same processor exynos 970 as s20, not the SD865+ equivalent. May consider that. Still if you feel like Samsung and not other brands go ahead but if not, other brands with sd865+ is better.

        • +1

Yeah i mean for me the best plan was that 799 find x pro with 55/mth for 12 months.

Of course the p30 deal was also quite good.

But I doubt there will be any of those types of deals in the future.

      • +1

        just before 20th Aug

        i can't get that point . .

        • +1

just so you are not too far away from actual purchase date hence easier for refund then add extra for upgrade if staff can help you with

          • +1

@webtherapist: have you tried returning and buy a higher model by pay the difference.

            • +2

@[Deactivated]: did in the past with JBHifi, upgraded from P30 to P30 Pro, I guess it would not be an issue with TGG because when you get the phone it lists the full cost of it on receipt and I can't see why they would not let you do the upgrade :)

          • +1

            @webtherapist:

or best to sign up just before 20th Aug) for $1,999 + $319 value,

            • What do you mean by this ? Its really confusing me. Whats the bargain in it ?

            • One scenario i understood is buy it for 1329 but TGG will send invoice with full value of 1999. Lateron pay $200 extra to get 512GB ?

      • +1

Only Ultra 5G BLACK is available in 512GB … No other models/version is in 512GB …. but provided that ULTRA has a dedicated SD slot (not hybrid), i wont bother going 256GB with bronze.

  • +3

Pay $1329 up front???? Haha. What a joke and then commit to a plan.

    • +1

I know, phone prices are getting so ridiculous now, especially they use their own processor and avoid the high cost of snap dragon

  • +1

What do pre existing telstra customers do for a deal?

  • I saw this deal on launch but as tempting as it is. I am really holding off for the z fold 2. I think if it was a better chipset I might have made the plunge but I can’t see why they would use an inferior chipset when there is better. I’m just hoping that the z fold 2 has either a newer more efficient exynos or the SD 865+

  • Does anyone know if this Telstra Plan is compatible with Telstra One so that I could use an LTE Samsung Galaxy smartwatch?
    Thanks!

    • +1

you can contact Telstra after signing up to add eSIM for your watch, which used to cost about $5 extra per month, not sure about now

  • +1

anyone from Melb able to access this offer?

  • +2

I'm looking forward too the Note 20 512gb version as a pressy for myself for say Christmas 2021 lol,.

I've promised myself to buy a year or so old Note next so the price will usually be half or less then when it was realised,..

well seems to be with my Note 9 512gb version which I'll stick with for a while more which will turn out too be my backup mobile as she's got a crack in the top right corner of screen so now not worth selling at all,..

but this Note 20 deal seems great and tempting, no no 5G in my area yet so I'm convincing my brain reasons not too buy one, not working doesn't help either 🤪🤑👍

  • +2

If you guys are planning to cancel and pay ETC then you are better off with the JB deal as over there it will cost you $1099 + $594 = $1693
    while here it will be $1329 + $414 = $1743

but if you are planning to stay 12 months then this will be cheaper 1329 + (6912=828) = $2157 @ TGG
while @ JB it will cost you 1099 + (99
12=1188) = $2287 but I heard at JB's they are giving $10 discount on the monthly plan which bring it down to $89 so the total cost will come down to be $2167

Not sure if TGG is also giving this $10 discount

    • +1

it is better to stay on their plan anyway since there is no excess data charge, consider paying RRP is 1,999 for phone only (except those who can access edu discount from Samsung store) + free Buds Live RRP 319, so basically Samsung and Telstra paying you a whole year of mobile cost for basically paying RRP :)

    • any free Live Buds with the JB deal please?

  • oh god, how can I do it.. don't have a number to port, I'm on Telstra pre-paid already :(
Even if I buy an Aldi sim now I won't be able to port it today, right?
And I'd really like to keep my current pre-paid Telstra number.. I need it for work!
    Please, suggestions? Many thanks

  • I am on Telstra post paid (not pre-paid) am I eligible?

  • oh gosh I missed on this deal.. any other good one around please? Cheers
