Thanks, last time I did the sums I think the long life plan works out slightly better for my parents (assuming paying $10 per $30 starter pack) than full priced Amaysim PAYG for 1 year. But the difference was pretty small if I recall correctly.
But Optus prepaid gives you $30 value as well. Which you could use for making calls or sending SMS
With amaysim you're paying 7 cents per MB and 15 cents per minute for calls and 15 cents per SMS. You get 365 days to spend $10 in credit.
With Optus $30 (but paying $10 for starter kit), you pay 2.33 cents per MB, 8.33 cents per minute for calls and 8.33 cents per SMS. But you get 6 months to spend the credit.
