Brother Laser Printer HL-L2350DW $107 + $10 Delivery @ The Good Guys Commercial (Membership Required)

260

Seems like a good deal if you have access to the commercial site.
It showed up OOS locally, but only a $10 delivery to Canberra. Not sure if delivery cost is more for other places.

UPDATE Aug 18, 2020:
It is available in Sydney stores, and I was asked to place another order for it to be shipped out of Chatswood store. I have done that, and will also cancel the previous order as it had been allocated to a Canberra store, which cannot fulfill it (long story there as they closed all local stores due to pest infestation)

Do note that there is no stock of this printer at Good guys.I ordered it in July through commercial website and it's still pending for delivery.Expected ETA August end

    • hmm, for me it said, "Please allow 2-5 business days for delivery to metro areas and 2-7 business days for delivery to some regional areas from the date your order is confirmed". So I will report back once I receive order confirmation

I just called them and they have no stock and was advised that stock is on back order.

        • +1

They called me after I placed my order and said the same thing. No stock anywhere in the country and no idea when it's coming. I'm not in a hurry though.

          • @grumpybum: Their website now says that its available in Auburn, and arriving soon in Canberra.

      • That's just a delivery estimation time placeholder. It's not an indication of stock level. The same would show on all your products on all your orders made.

    • Bloody hell no wonder it's taking so long to deliver mine, I ordered in late July as well when they had that shopback promo.

      • One should have deduced by then that the item was out of stock pending stock renewal. I mean if it's not shipped out within the first week then that's blatant obvious.

  • I see $149 on that link with free delivery

  • What will be refill cost ?

    • +3

Depends on how you want to do it. Genuine will be quite expensive e.g. $141 at Officeworks, non-genuine is quite cheap on eBay ~$20-$40 delivered from your favourite Chinese seller, or you can refill the cartridges for the ultimate in cost savings. Refilling is not all that hard (I do mine this way), you just have to be patient and follow the instructions. Because the drum unit is separate that means the toner cartridges have almost unlimited reuse potential.

The reason I went with brother and not hp or others. The cost of toner.

Can get knock offs for brother printers cheap off ebay.

        • +2

          I have a Brother MFC9340CDW

The cartridges that came with the printer have counter, or are associated with a counter in the printer.
I expected that when the toner is low it would start printing streaky pages, at which point I'd pop the toner out and give it a shake and order a new one.
Instead it just decided to stop in the middle of a print job and claim the black toner was empty.

This was a few years back before it was common to know laser printers did this bullshit that inkjets had been doing for a while.

After a quick search I found that there was a service menu where you could reset the page count of a cartridge.
Worked well and am still on the same black that 'claimed' to be empty.
According to the stats in the web interface i'm 500+ pages passed the so-called empty and it's still printing perfectly crisp pages.

So.. long story short, google for a service menu for your printers and consider doing the same.

Not sure if this is the same video, but here is an idea…

          Hope this helps someone.

          • @virtual81: where's the star button on this printer?
How to reset toner page count?

    • I got the toner delivered from ebay from local store for $14.95.

These are good little simple printers.

    • I want to buy this model specifically because of how well it's supported by after market refills. Was going to get from http://www.ecotechprintsolutions.com.au/ but they're out of stock for ages.

need a scanner & printer. Any good deals? (prefer laser printer).

  • Thoughts on this printer (https://www.brother.com.au/en/products/all-printers/printers…)

Looking into getting one for home just to print and scan documents, not really fussed on colour too.

    • I've got one.. well, the same model with NFC which I never use.

      Great MFC.

      Duplex scanning is brilliant.

I found a Ebay seller than provides good quality cartridges cheap. 3 for ~$50

Hey, I could be wrong about the MFC-L2730DW.

I'm looking to buy one for a staff member for working at home.. but I don't think it has duplex scanning.

I know the MFC-L2750DW does. I thought the difference was only NFC but I think it's duplex scanning.

stock are both scarce as shit at the moment due to working at home.

      • +2

Does not look like it does duplex scanning. Better get the 2750 for only $9 more at officeworks.

      • Lucky I read this as I was about to make a purchase, will definitely jump onto the 2750DW instead.

  • +3

A shame they discontinued the HL-1110 which used to regularly sell for $30

    • Probably because that was an old discontinued bare bones model. No wireless and no automatic duplex.

However this model being sold here has both wireless and automatic duplex. You get what you pay for. But any way going by the looks there's no stock left nationwide.

      • They used to have the 2135 which was the same as the 1110 but with wifi. Regularly sold for ~$40. Good little unit if all you need is basic b&w printing. Toner is cheap as chips.

  • Just an update on this one. It is available in Sydney stores, and I was asked to place another order for it to be shipped out of Chatswood store. I have done that, and will also cancel the previous order as it had been allocated to a Canberra store, which cannot fulfill it (long story there as they closed all local stores due to pest infestation)

  • Finally got an account to purchase this. Set for pickup too.

    Thanks OP.

  • Signed up to tgg commercial and got this yesterday. Brilliant machine. Will pick up some ink soon. Thank you op.

    • Fyi, plenty of stock in WA

  • Has anyone been able to get their hands on it in VIC?
