I have been keeping on eye on these headphones. Locally selling near $400 mark.

This price is near to lowest on Ozbargain, it’s could have been cheapest if as Prime members are eligible for free delivery now and price dropped further.

One of the highly regarded headphones for sound stage. Because of low rated impedance (62 ohms) these should be driven easily, at least theoretically.

      • Were you using them unamped or was a DAC/Amp combo?

  • Anyone have both these and ATH-M50/m50x ? Worth owning both?

    • Of course, They are somehow at the same level, however totallly different kinds of sound. K702 might be slightly better in first listening impression since it was fully openback. M50x is closeback so the sound could be tighter and punchier. A disadvantage of those closeback ones is the sound might be close or 'smothering' in signature. K702 is openback so it can sound more relaxing and its soundstage could be wider, while low frequency or "bass" is not that enough compared with M50X

    • Unless you wish to keep your surroundings sound free, purchase K712,sell M50x.

Actually used my M50x last night for the first time in over 18 months.
New computer and needed the longer cord to test the jack..Being lazy.

      Prolly require an amp.
      $99.99.

Price seems to have increased as it is now $203.71 + $23.34 Delivery. Still cheap as heck compared to local retailers selling it at $400.

Thanks @s1Lence, title updated. But it is almost same price for Prime members now as free delivery was not included earlier.

  • Why is this getting more love than the dt 990?

    • Is there a reason it shouldn't?

  • A quick update to all those subscribed for comments: Price dropped to $185.10 and free delivery for Prime members as well. If you are a punter, cancel your order and place again to save about $20. But don’t blame me if you cancel your order and these goes out of stock. Even at $210, they are half priced than local dealers, so be your own judge.

If anyone else has ordered and can't cancel, or doesn't want to deal with buying another set and returning the original order, try the support chat. I got a $40 credit from them. Only valid on items sold by Amazon AU but better than nothing.

I got $20 and it was a "one time exception." I sent an email and they replied in like 10 minutes which is crazy.

  • AKG K712 via Amazon UK is gone.

It's crazy how fast this headset took to deliver. I get that it's DHL, but I'm just not used to 3 days delivery for anything, especially for this year. Thanks.

I paid for the standard delivery (wasn't eligible for prime at the time) and already got mine. What the hell?
