  • So I contacted an EB Games store in Sydney who stated that the store credit from the trade-in needs to be spent on the same day. Is this the case across all stores?

    • They told me it can be "banked" like it stays on our card basically.

Can't be put on a gifty but he didn't say had to be spent on the day. Maybe depends on the store and the mood the EB guy is in?

  • Unless you're a level 4 member or the console is defective in some way, you're much better of on selling the console privately and get a heck of a lot more for it.

      Really?

I'm not seeing that on Sold eBay listings for XBox One X. Someone even got a Cyberpunk 2077 XBox One X for $455. Standard XBox One X seem to be lucky to get $400, and then you've got to pay eBay listing fees.

Considering how low an XBox One X on sale was getting $402 for level 3 also seems good to me, I'm gonna take that one.

Basing your comment on one or two sold prices of Xbox One X consoles doesn't tell a complete story. There's plenty of Xbox One X consoles being sold from $500 and above and taking a look at ones selling right now there are quite a few active ones on auction at around the same mark. Also I don't understand why people on Ozbargain go on about ebay fees when they regularly offer no final value fees promos on a regular basis. I haven't paid eBay fees in years and I sell big ticket items regularly on there.

        • I don't see that. What I see is people placing it on there for high prices but not selling for that, however under sold (what people actually paid for it) they go for less. They get more when sold with accessories, or it being near new (but still used) so they still have some warranty left, or with games.

Selling a two year old XBox One X with no additional extras on eBay doesn't seem to get you $400. Remember, you can always trade some accesories and games to EB too, though I have no clue to the prices you'll get.

I traded my ps4pro and xb1x yesterday, level 4 member so I got $420 store credit on each.

Don’t forget to give them your worst hdmi cables and controllers (I gave them my old 360 hdmi cable :) ).

Also if you have a Kinect and you also have one of those power adapters they provided for free a few years back so that it would still work on the one s / x - don’t forget to trade it! it’s worth half of what your Kinect is worth.

2 consoles, half a dozen games and a Kinect was ~$950 which they put on a gift card and was told it can be used via their online store.

Guess I’ll be playing switch for 3 months now..

Doing the same with my PS4 Pro soon. Switch till next gen.

    • Gift card? I thought it was store credit or something?

      • Depends on the state, NSW it’s store credit…

        • WA (Cockburn) received store credits for "pre order items"

  • Augh. Xbox Series X prices leaked at $599 USD which is about $899 AUD

IMHO, as a PC gamer, the cost isn't too bad as for that price, it'd be similar to a Ryzen 5 with a 1660 (if you're lucky) not including the price of a windows OS.

    • I'm happy at that price point, these systems maybe around until 2027 / 2028, so I'd rather they be a decent one so that the games still look good towards the end of the decade.

  • Does anyone know what they deduct for not bringing a controller in too?

    • It would have to be anywhere between 20-$50.

  • Aww man, I should have traded my OG PS4. Now it's only worth $190 at EB.
