Recommend people also check the mid range tcls through appliance central. Was able to get the gift card promo on the 65c715 approved after the last 15% discount. Shipping was relatively quick to vic which was good. Picture quality is good (already had a soundbar) and boot up time isn't too bad. Cane or too $1160 after rebate and discount.

  • Is extra money for the Sony X9500H worth it over this?

    • at nearly %50 of the cost, idk

    • Probably not. Sony uses Android tv which is a better OS, and people say the Hisense app store is not great, but if you pair this with a Apple TV or Nvidia Shield you'll have arguably a better setup than the Sony, for less than $2k. I would buy this in a heartbeat had I not bought a tv recently.

  • Does this look like a soundbar built in ?

    • They call it front-firing sound speakers, but yes it's basically a sound bar

    • It has a built-in soundbar, but it's not that great.

    • Honestly if your buying this TV and wanting to use the inbuilt speakers I would recommend buying a cheaper TV and investing in some surround sound or floor standing speakers.

The difference between this and some base model 65 inch is not as big a difference as inbuilt speakers and external speakers. Can actually get a half decent surround setup for cheap these days. Use this site and find another bargain :) I would say tv is like 60% and sound is 40% of the experience. Just me though.

  • This or tcl 65c715

this any day of the week

      • For the extra $470 after $100 rebate the C715 made more sense to me. But everyone has a different price point that they target…

        • c715 65 is not even available, its not on their ebay store

was 1632 last month, but yeh 1632 is the lowest it has gotten. i just wish it was 1500, i have ocd

  • Tempting… Specs look good from my limited knowledge of TVs; anyone own this model?
Also guessing I'd need to upgrade my Chromecast to an Ultra to take advantage of the 4K.

    • -1

upgrade your chromecast? that makes no sense. do you mean upgrade your netflix plan?

      • I mean upgrade my Chromecast 3 to a Chromecast Ultra…

        • depending on what you're casting, why not use the built-in netflix, youtube, etc apps?

        • +1

You may want one if you need to cast a video source that doesn't have a native app on Hisense (i.e. Disney+) to get full 4k instead of the tv scaling up 1080p from the Chrome cast 3. Netflix, Amazon, Stan, YouTube and a bunch of others are already available natively.

I don't have this model but I bought the previous 65R8 version for my parents and it is very good for the money….mind you….pre-covid days and pricing so it was cheaper. Someone made a post about their experiences with the 75" version of the model tv here

@bluedez_man: Thanks both! I finally caved in :) I think paired with a subwoofer this will be a great setup.

  • Thanks OP - been looking for a good 65" TV deal.

Big difference, S8 (2020) is worse than the R8 (2019). And the Q8 is better than both. Marketing departments will be the end of us all.

  • Is anybody able to confirm the warranty?

On the technical specs on Good Guys; it says 3 years.

  • Went to buy it tonight but it's no longer available… I'm hitting myself for holding out too long :(

    • not really that good of a deal as its been this price last month, just wait it will go down more by next month

      • Are you talking about this deal that was $100 more? Or did I miss something? Anyway I hope it's before my ebay plus trial ends otherwise rip

        • just sign up with a new email

I'm almost regretting my purchase now after finding out which courier they use. Judging from experience guess I'm gonna have an uphill battle that may not be worth the $300 saving over local shops…

  • +1

Anyone receive this yet? Pretty peeved that they use their particular choice of courier who continue to indicate a 1-2 day delivery ETA (as if!). Almost impossible to reach a real human on the courier's customer service number and my experience has been pretty similar to the hundreds of angry reviews online.

  • Has anyone actually received their tv's yet? Keen to hear feedback!
