  • I received a message from a Dell employee and you can receive a further 5% off with code: QUT5
  • This monitor does not have a VESA mount despite it saying "VESA HDR" in the description. You can use a third party mount like this. I've purchased this exact mount and it works perfect.
  • This is a work monitor and not a gaming monitor (doesn’t mean it can’t still be used for gaming - 8ms). It has an impressive 600 nits so great for productivity and photo/video editing.

  • So with the AMEX, does this mean that:
    1. The 10% credit will bring the price down to $566.97
    2. The $250 credit will then reduce it further to $317
    3. With CB the final price will be $280.

    Y / N ?
    Thanks for clarifying.

  • Would people get this or the Samsung 28" 4K monitor? I can get the samsung for $420 ish with discounts. I will be using primarily to work, and eventually gaming later this year.

  • Have another post here - if you guys wanna have read on an alternative.

  • How about the +$750 for nano texture for the new iMac… This dell is not 5k :D

  • Thoughts on whether this would be an upgrade from my Dell U2713H with PremierColour? I was debating stepping down to 2 x 25" and moving to a dual setup. But with this being tax-deductible and selling my old monitor I think it would be a neutral cost. I like the USB-C but I am running a 16 MBP and saw the 45W charge only. Looks like Dell USB-C monitors can only do max 65W charge…

    • U3419W is claimed to deliver up to 90W.

  • Genuine question:

Wouldn't the Xiaomi 34" inch curved monitor be better than this when it comes to value for money? Especially if I would like to do some PC gaming once in a while? Bit confused, because the Xiaomi deals didnt get as much love as this one did from the OzB community

This is a productivity focused monitor with features geared towards people needing to connect USB-C devices like laptops (up to 45 watts) and also wanting HDR600 (600nit) display. You'll also notice this is IPS panel which means it is a completely different type of panel tech compared to Xiaomi Surface display.

The panel is also factory calibrated too and will have better gamma / backlight uniformity than cheaper ones found in budget gaming LCD's. Gaming monitors are usually tuned for better refresh rates, lower input lag / responsiveness above everything else (they will cheap out on other stuff to make it affordable), while work monitors will focus more on auxiliary features like colour accuracy from factory calibration, a long(er) warranty period, thin bezels, a solid stand, USB-C connectivity and so on.

a HDR600 compliant monitor with IPS and USB-C from a reputable brand like Dell for $600 is considered very reasonable price but unfortunately 8ms response rate and 60hz refresh rate means it's more for work and less for play.

      • Thanks for that detailed explanation! I'm actually mentally geared towards considering Xiaomi to be of better quality than Dell (horrible experience with two laptops). But this monitor does look quite good.

  • Bit the bullet and ordered one! Thanks Op

  • thanks the the post. yeah, also ordered it. will be able to switch between work laptop and graphics desktop for sidehustle photography work. will also work well with the adjustable desk - desktop underneath, laptop on the desk.

I've got a lenovo T440s with a mini display port & USB 3.0 - how should I connect the monitor to the screen (where mouse/keyboard) are connected to? will something like this work between the monitor's USB-c cable and the laptop? https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/accessories-and-monitors/cables…

  • Thanks for details. This is great post with details. This monitor looks pretty good only concern for me is rotation. https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/compare?ocs=210-awhy,210-aqw…

I am looking at buying Dell UltraSharp 27 Monitor - U2719D for $531.32 . Cheers

  • Can I use this monitor with iMac 4k?

  • Wondering if the bottom of the S2719DC will line up with the base of my 2019 27" iMac? The bottom of the visible part of the screen on the iMac is 16cm from the top of the desk. If anyone has this monitor, could they measure the distance from the bottom of the DELL screen to the base of the stand? Many thanks!

*EDIT. Found out. The bottom of the screen is 11cm from the bottom of the stand base.
