What the use of this phone ? Only 2 GB ROM and 32GB storage ? Will be slow as a snail.

    • +11

Compared to my dad's 512mb ram phone, this would have been a great upgrade if I managed to get one for him.

    • +3

may be perfect for kids to watch youtube

      • +2

That's what I use it for.

It's got a really nice vibrant screen (even though low res), great battery life, sufficiently decent speaker/volume… it also feels snappier than say my older Android phones with 4xx Snapdragons too.

    • +6

ummm… as a phone. Not all of us use them much for other things.

    • -2

You'll watch porn and send dick pics just fine.

Well, maybe with the back camera, the front camera is pretty garbage.

      • +2

Should be perfect selfies for d**k heads

        • Ah, yes, the perfect dick pics are the ones you can't see. Genius.

  • why it is 2GB RAM? I can see the spec on Samsung website is 3GB. Is it special version?

    • +6

Telstra is wrong, it's 3GB Ram.

      • -1

Telstra variant is 2gb rest are 3gb

        • -1

No, Telstra variant is 3GB RAM.

  • +18

I think it is a Targeted version

    • +3

… you should be ashamed of yourself.

  • FANTASTIC Deal, thanks OP. Hope it is not a pricing error and I get my order.

  • Locked to Telstra. Will this work with Boost Prepaid though?

    • +1

should be, I had couple of Telstra locked phones, all working with Boost

    • +1

      yes

    • Will it work with belong?

  • +1

This is a great deal. Easy to unlock too.

  • Get in quick, This is likely to be OzBargained. But also looks to be a Price Error looking at some of the comments above.

  • +17

    It costs $1620 + $80 = $1700 in Melbourne

    • +1

      Lol.

    • +2

You have 5km to play with there.

      • +1

Not essential i don't think! We are learning :)

        • All retail are doing click and collect, therefore all retail are essential.

Its the same ambiguous messaging showing the spilt between the states and feds since day 1.

    • +2

Have unlocked two Voda A20 in the past using this, worked great.

  • Called my local Target. It's most probably clearance, and they haven't seen any Telstra prepaid for a long while…

Save your time! And move on beautiful people :)

  • +1

Thanks OP, order confirmed. Only issue will be pick up as the store is more than 5km from my house….can I argue it is essential as my phone broke and I need a replacement?

    • +3

Doubt it, but be sure to post a question in the forum asking if you can challenge the fine when you get one.

      • -1

Yes, I was just reading that. I reckon their is enough ambiguity around all the COVID info that you could easily argue your way out of any fine. For example, there is no detailed definition of what is classified as "essential".
Anyway, I called Target and they said they can hold the item until Stage 4 restrictions are lifted (Sun 12-Sep).

        • I called up Target and they said that they will hold it and also informed me that they are not enforcing their strict 2-weeks collection policy atm.

          • @John K: Which store did you call if i may ask?

  • How to these compare to older higher spec phones like s8 or s9?

    • +1

ur better off with a s9, much faster processor

      • +1

The price difference tho for this deal is mad for a random device

        • true, if you can find stock

  • Damn, spewing we missed this.
Need a phone for my daughter. She has our old Samsung S5 and it's getting on now.
Looking at the Samsung A11 which is basically the same as the A20.

So can someone help me out here, how does this Prepaid Mobile stuff work?
I've done a quick look around and only see certain mobiles as prepaid and not many mainstream models.
So if I buy a prepaid mobile with the intent to do the fonefunshop unlock am I locked in to any monthly
fees with the mob I buy it through, any contracts?

She has a 365 day mobile sim with Woolworths that we are using that'll go into the new phone.

Any help appreciated as getting a mobile cheaper as a prepaid then unlocking it will save us $$$

    • Prepaid is pretty easy, but if people are accustomed to contracts, it can look a bit tricky.
You can take the OzB route and jump from deal to deal, sim to sim, to save $$$.
On the other hand, there are always good new customer deals out there too, with long-terms and plenty of inclusions. At present, there are decent offers from Lebara and Catch Connect, but you would need to have this phone unlocked to take advantage of them. Boost should work in this phone as is.

    • I would just buy the Oppo A52 then you don't have to muck around unlocking it.

Currently it's sitting 3rd in the poll which is really 2nd in my books because of this reason.

  • Also spewing haha! If anyone's hot a spare one they decide they don't want, lemme know!!

  • I find that phone stuff goes quickly, the staff are the first ones to get the deal…

  • I'll be going for a short drive too my local Target store knowing I'm sure will be none in stock but price of $80 worth the risk and little petrol use 🤑👍
