For a second, I thought the game was actually going free-to-play (permanently free with paid cosmetic DLC or something).

    • I wish it would go free to play. I own it on xbox but not PS4 or PC.

It would make a lot of sense for this game to go free-to-play permanently. They have a season pass and various in game paid cosmetic items. It would definitely take interest from the Warzone, Fortnite and other free-to-play shooters out there.

    • Unfortunately the fact it costs money is a necessary barrier for entry which keeps toxicity at a barely tolerable level. F2P would make it too easy for people to evade bans.

      • F2P doesn't necessarily mean easier to evade bans. A game like Destiny 2 is free and is very good at hitting bans, definitely not an excuse for devs to make.. lol

  • Can you play this game offline against AI? I am tempted to buy the Ultimate Edition as it is on special at the moment for $60 approx.

    • Always online like everything else these days, but there are some single player modes (Technically co-op, that can be played solo though isn't balanced for it). However frankly they're really not enjoyable and the developer has made no attempts to improve them since launch. Most players only use them to train their aim.
If you're not interested in the multiplayer, I'd advise looking at other games.
Although there is the upcoming 'Rainbow Six Quarantine' which should offer the same gun play but focus on PvE. I believe it will be like Left 4 Dead, at least the Siege seasonal event it was based off was like that.

  • Just went to the PS Store and the ps4 version is now available for free download (ahead of tomorrow's event I think).

    • I just installed it but can’t play it yet. Says free weekend hasn’t been activated
