        • No worries, worth a shot - thanks for the offer!

I understand the bit about feeling bad. I've got an e-waste dropoff near me, and a scrap metal place too. I try to strip stuff as much as I can for those guys.

    • Whereabouts in Melb are you based at? (need to check if within 5km)

    • Hey I'd be interested if we're within the 5km and this still going - thanks for offering either way!

Good deal, but I want to wait for a local seller. Be nice if Mobiciti could match this.

We regret to inform you that, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to ship your Xiaomi Mi 34" WQHD Curved Gaming Monitor as quickly as originally expected.
We are now expecting your order to be dispatched by 27/09/2020.
As a token of our appreciation for your patience, we would like to offer you a $20 Kogan.com eVoucher, which you can use on your next purchase.

    • That's rough. A whole month before they even ship it, then you need to wait for shipping. I guess you are voiding warranty time until then.

  • For those who are able to register for the Digidirect $200/$40 Amex statement credit deal on 3 separate cards, your total outlay will be $500.10. Calculated as $620.10 less ($40 x 3). Online order only but I spoke to customer service who confirmed that you can pay for in-store, i.e., split payment in-store.
Targeted deal, but for those in the know, $500.10 is by far the cheapest. Not to mention local stock too!

How is this for photo editing? I have a Apple Thunderbolt Display 27" and thinking of selling it to get this one. But wondering how's the colour accuracy. I don't game at all and only use it for other office stuff. So photo editing is priority.

    • +2

I have a feeling you'd want to keep using IPS for colour sensitive usage

  • Thanks OP, just bought one for my xbox one, I am very excited for this since I am upgrading from a Philips 24" monitor bought in 2017. I reckon I need speakers though for the audio unless the HDMI cable can carry the sound from the xbox to the monitor.

    • no speakers on the monitor

    • That's a really really bad choice. You do know that the xbox can only do 16:4 right? This is not a screen for a console

      • -1

It works fine with 16:9 for me.

        • Thats horrible. Consoles are for TVs, preferably Sony due to their low input lag. This monitor is a horrible choice.

you can play it stretched to 21:9

Lmfao you edited your comments but can't believe you said that

          • @DoesntEvenMatter: What's wrong with playing in 16:9 with black bars and then using this for pc stuff when you're not gaming?

            • @J6: It would be basically reduce their screen size to the previous monitor and the bars would be pretty distracting, they won't really be black there will be bleeding that could cause eye strain

              • @DoesntEvenMatter: Ah ok I didn't realise that it can cause eye strain for some. Thankfully my eyes arent affected by the black bars and my screen doesn't have any bleeding.

            • @J6: theres nothing wrong / limiting people from doing it lol

but you wouldnt buy this monitor for the main purpose of console gaming..
buying a 21:9 to play in 16:9 .. when you can just buy a 16:9?

              • @astarman: To also use it as a pc screen in 21:9

          • @DoesntEvenMatter: Yeah I editted it because I don't personally do it but I've tried it and could do it if I had to haha

    • usually "gaming monitors" are targetting for PCs
      good luck.

  • Missed out on the recent Dell 32" for a home office. Would two of these be ok? How does MS Word or Excel sit on a screen like this?

Anyone know if JBs or similar sell something like this so I can have a look and see if they're suitable?

I was hesitant with this monitor - bought from Gearbite for $599 - got delayed in shipment, so asked for a $20 refund since their latest offer was $579. They happily did, and after it shipped it arrived next day.

So far I'm beyond pleased with it. Came with no defects/dead pixels etc. (hooray). Mounted straight onto an arm, but the base is solid and looks good if you need to use it. Someone mentioned text clarity isnt great, I have no idea WTF they're talking about, this thing is crisp. And the brightness is fine; I've got mine on 65 and its plently bright. Overall, for a productivity/work monitor, I'm stoked. Nearly was going to spend double but thought I'll give it a shot. Yes, I'm sure they're better (IPS, G-sync etc. etc.) but for my somewhat untrained eye looking for a good 85% work monitor and 15% gaming, it fits the bill perfectly, and paying double the price for me personally wouldn't have gotten double the performenace. Highly recommend.

    • I'm sold. Off to order one now.

Displayfusion looks like an essential purchase for these UW monitors.

    • Worth buying a decent display mount or stick with the original one?

      • +1

The base looks good and cable management is excellent, but I had a previous mount that I use, which makes my setup nice and minimalist. Either way you can't lose. I previously bought the North Bayou F80 Gas Strut Monitor Mount which is recommended for up to 27" I believe, but thats more around the room to mount vertically. It seems to be going OK, but maybe get the next model up just in case.

Also cheers for the DisplayFusion tip; forgot about that! Downloading now.

  • How is this monitor for general light gaming (DOTA, L4D2, ubisoft games etc) and productivity (excel, coding, general word processing)? Currently using a 25inch ultrawide LG but could go bigger and change the 25inch into a verical monitor. I have heard for productivity such as excel and coding it's best to get a 4k monitor? Sorry a rookie when it comes to tv/monitors. Would this be a decent monitor or better off with something else?

    • Also curious

25" Ultrawide, I'm guessing 2560x1080p? is 111 pixels per inch (PPI).

34* ultrawide is 110 PPI. So basically same sharpness as your 25" but bigger display. visually like this

4K monitor, I'm guessing 32" 16:9? is 137PPI. So you can have smaller text and fit more thing vertically.

      Both are good choice really.

      • yep according to LG website its 2560 x1080.

That's good to knowabout the PPI. Think I'll hold off the purchase for a 4k screen or might just move the 43inch TV into my room and see how that is first.

  • hi im thinking of getting the Xiaomi Mi Curved 34″ Ultrawide Gaming Monitor I have a none curved one and 27'' but its IPS 2k 144hz is this worth upgrading to ?
