10% Cashback for ELIGIBLE Purchase on Bankwest Breeze Credit Card

90

New offer like for the same breeze mastercard. I found that the Eligible purchase is very fishy like the previous 5% cashback offer.

This one speicalise in eating out and food rather than paying ultility bills, grocery and petrol.

  • how much is the card though ???? you link doesn't say…

    edit

    http://www.bankwest.com.au/personal/credit-cards/credit-card…

the card costs $69 to $130…

    • yeh, looks too hard to worry about what counts in the 10 or 5%. not worth wasting my time

most ppl have some sort of awards already, so the 'benefit' is even less.

  • and don't forget you only get this cash back for 3 months. How much can you spend in 3mths compared to the annual fee $69 you have to pay…

    • it includes groceries and department stores… unclear if it includes petrol though…

this bit is a bit dodgy though

if you still prefer the 5% cash back offer instead for 12 months quote the "westfield" promo code before Dec 31st. i did a online chat with one of their staff who said that the minimum income is $19500 and 12 months work history was required but i am not sure if she was correct as i thought a branch staff told me a few months ago it was only a minimum of $15,000 per year was required to apply. Does anyone know for sure what are Bankwest minimum income requirements are to apply for a credit card?

Also whats stopping you taking the 10% cashback offer and then after 3 months doing a product transfer to the no annual fee card and asking for a pro-rata refund of the $69 annual fee or just cancelling the card? will they ask for the 10% cash back already paid out?

    FYI

It's easy enough to use this deal to buy up Wish Cards at a Woolworths and then spend them at a Dick Smith - equivalent of 10% off a new TV isn't too shabby (especially as the discount is on top of whatever price you bargain out). Can also buy additional cards to look after the grocery shopping beyond the 3 month cashback period.

    • great call!

    • i think you maybe able to get a further 5% rebate off gift cards if you purchase them with any bank west credit card through the free rewardme program if its still going? i cant seem to find a current link to the old bankwest rewardme program even thought the logo is printed on the back of my card. thus in theory a total 15% of goods is a good deal but not sure if the terms of the cash back allow this or if this website is including in list for the 5 or 10% deal? all i can find is http://www.bankwestrewardme.com.au/gift-cards.php . i called up Ambassador and they said they ended the relationship with bankwest in june and that previous members can still get membership for $69

      • I guess it's just worth checking whether purchases made via Ambassador are in a qualifying MasterCard Merchant Category then.

Its always good to see where I work pop up here.

change). Excludes balance transfers, cash advances and
    business-related purchases.

Let me know if you have questions……

    • do u have a break down of the category codes?
      e.g 5411 = coles, woolworth, IGA etc..

just 5411 could mean anything? could also mean there could be a exclusion list?

      • There are thousands of retails so we do not have a compressive list (I have asked). From my understanding when a retailer gets an EFTPOS they declare what there co. does and they get a merchant category based off that, I would expect the majors should be included.

If you were to apply, on your statement there is a money bag next to any purchase you make that you get the 5% back on.

    • I received the Breeze card last month (with the 5% offer) after applying online. Why have they changed the conditions to now applying in store and I'm assuming the cashback offer on my card will keep going?

      • The offer should be the same as the one you applied for.

    • AJ271, here i have a few questions for you: what are Bankwest minimum income requirements are to apply for a credit card? is it true that the minimum income is $19500 and 12 months work history to apply for the breeze card? can you obtain a prorata refund on the annual fee after 3 months if you do a product tranfer to the no annaul fee card?

      • +1

No refunds on annual fees, but after the 1st year we won’t charge the Annual Fee in the 2nd & subsequent years where the annual spend is $10,000 or more for Classic cards, $15,000 or more for Gold cards or $20,000 or more for Platinum cards

        Depends on your situation.
Full time/Permanent Part time min 3 months and NOT currently on probation
        Casual 12 months

$19500 if you have no other lending and not paying rent.

Forgot to add that 19500 will only get you a small limit (about $1000)

        • thanks Aj271, has Bankwest ended the free rewardme program? can you provide us with a link please if its still current? can we purchase gift cards with the breeze card through the rewardme program and get a further 5% or is it excluded and not on the list?

      • @coolsteps, Bankwest ended the free rewardme program on the 01/07/11. If you have an Ambassador card by any chance im pritty sure its the same thing. Im not sure what there MasterCard Merchant Category Code is… sorry

  • Wonder if there are limits though on the cashback and how long it takes to get back into your account.
