theres no such thing as organic water

    • +5

Except when the water has been contaminated!

What brand of water is this?

I'm guessing the word Organic is part of it's name.

As for the top post, you can have organic water, it just has to be free of any chemicals considered toxic.

Apparently fluoride is not one of them.. LoL.

  • what sort of stock levels are there?

    • About 800 packs

This could be the reason why it is so cheap:

Active Organic sells purified tap water under the Active Organic Spring brand name, despite being neither organic nor spring water. The water is identical to other purified tap water brands.

The company repeatedly refused to comment about its water, despite being subject to an investigation by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, brought about by a rival bottled water brand, Nature's Best.

Found when matching the bottle to the picture in this article.

"The water is identical to other purified tap water brands."

Yes, it contains two parts hydrogen to one part oxygen. whoever came up with that incredibly successful recipe is a genius.

Not a bargain. Reported as spam. This is expensive tap water.

    • +1

I've + to counter your neg. This is cheap for bottled water, their just your opinions on the bottled water industry. Reported as invalid neg.

    • +1

Most bottled water comes from a tap and goes through a filter, then into a bottle. hardly deserves a neg..

  • It's a good deal for people who want bottled water. Much cheaper than the Mount Franklins which i believe would have no difference. 20c per bottle could just be for convenience.

misleading product imo - this is NOT ORGANIC …

  • OP / Rep should change the address to 707 Smithfield Rd, Bonnyrigg… not 7707 Smithfield Rd… Unless you dont want any Ozbargainers to find your business :)

    • Thanks

ACCC on their backs. i wonder how it turned out.

      already mentioned above..

      • ah, thanks. i only skimmed over the comments and mustn't have seen it.

  • Hmmm, I think it is against Australian regulations to label water as organic. Firstly, water is inorganic (there's no carbon in the water molecule). Secondly, purified water is treated with chemicals, so it can't actually be labelled as organic and chemical free. So how did this company get its branding approved (what's the loophole). And how has this not been taken down.

  • +1

Damn. When i first saw the pic i thought it was a Mount Franklin bottle lol.

  • regardless of the name, it is still cheap bottled water. they must be offloading it on the cheap

  • $2.50 for over 7 litres of tap water, bargain! And organic too, I didn't even know they made organic water. Learn something new every day.

    • Thank god someone posted this, I was about to smack my monitor for all the downvoting of sensible people.

  • +2

I weep for the world - surely this is not a bargain when all they are doing is using tap water.
Tap water is essentially free… so is the real bargain 12 plastic bottles for 2.50? That type of waste disgusts me.

    • +3

What is far FAR sadder is all the idiots who buy it.

And the people who've convinced people that refilling plastic water bottles will harm them, because the refill releases chemicals in the plastic that make you sick… that borders on criminal !!!!

      • It depends on how often you refill the plastic water bottles.

Refilling plastic water bottles too many times does harm you.

        • The plastic in the bottle contain synthetic sex hormones called BPA (Bisphenol A) which mimics hormones such as estrogen and progesterone, which are naturally occurring steroids usually present in women responsible for the maturation of female sex organs.

        • If you do refill it too many times the chemicals are gradually worn down from the bottle and into your body when you drink it, the body think it's a natural bodily substance and actually stores the BPA in your body.. instead of filtering/removing it.

        • The MIMR recruits people from my university and the Docs/Professors who oversee these clinical trials give lectures at my University and that's what they taught.

        • I'm not sure about it being carcinogenic, but if what they say is true then eventually after about 10-15 years you might found that you have developed these:

THIS ISN'T AN ARGUMENT ABOUT BLOODY PLASTIC BOTTLES OR THE 'ORGANICNESS' OF THE WATER. IT IS ABOUT CHEAP BOTTLED WATER! TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT!

  • I got stung by these SOBs.
Big bold writing of 'Organic' on the label.
Not organic and not spring; all it is glorified tap water.
Juist drink out of the tap if you are going to buy this.

    • +1

I think its gotten to the point where some companies misuse the word 'organic', hoping that uneducated people will buy it just cause its 'organic'.

    • as opposed to getting stung by anyone else selling bottles water?

  • -2

Coles had 24 bottles for $5 this week which should go down to $3 if they do the same as last year.

  • +1

its cheap bottled water anyway, you can always use the bottle as a spare drink bottle or sell it for 5c lol
