But that S7+ 4g or Wifi looks very noice

    Huh…

Basically no point pre-ordering from JB for the "free keyboard" if the combined cost from the education store is cheaper for students.

      • -3

i'm getting it from amazon for $2049 with the free keyboard. After a price protection claim later, I'll have paid the same as you (for tablet only) or less, but got to keep the free keyboard.

EDU portal deals have been taken down in the past, so this post will probably disappear soon.

Combine with the $50 newsletter signup deal and it's a damn good price. Especially compared to an iPad pro + pencil + keyboard

thanks op, anyone know if the promotion code tbey send out is generic or email specific ? cheers

  • Be wary of ordering online through Samsung. It is impossible to get through to the 'eCommerce' department. They don't respond to emails, their website online chat is limited. I had to resort to whinging on Facebook….

    • Rinse repeat with HN online, companies just think they can get away with it now… despite in HN's case, soaring profits….

Though don't get me started with Netgear, they are a whole new level of illegal with their practices.

If you don't expect to need to contact them, they're great. I've ordered a number of items from them and haven't had any problems. They were sent via overnight shipping too.

Plus 1 for taking time to explain the merits, even if people still can't understand.

The only thing the Tablet prices make me want is a Fold 2 instead so I can combine the 2 devices. They are getting outta control.

  • Looks like a great device but ultimately it's just an Android tablet with blown up phone apps for the most part.

It depends on what apps you need. I don't have any issue with the interface on any of the apps I use.

Some people fixate over app support, but really only use a handful of apps which actually work fine. It's a bit like pixel-peeping with digital cameras. Have a look and see if the apps that you actually use work fine and decide from there.

There is nothing else out there with a similarly spectacular 12.4" 120Hz Super AMOLED screen. If you're heavy on media sites like Netflix, it'd be fantastic especially with its HDR10+ support. DeX with the new keyboard and larger trackpad might be useful to some too.

  • I genuinely wish they did the free keyboard with the education portal deal.

Ugh, that said, these probably are the best Android tablets for my purpose so ugh.

Maybe you should make an entertaining animated video about the history of free offers and how it can benefit them. If they don't listen, you can punish them severely.

heh. I know who you are talking about. Be very fair, I never knew about him? her? when I took this name.

Anyways, I am getting Tab s7 to use as kinda like a convertible light laptop.

I tried to use iPad, didn't like the OS. I think I had the cheaper version of iPad that supported Apple Pencil? Be fair, this was before they updated the OS to allow bluetooth mouse so the experience might be completely different.
Tried Surface Pro 3, wasn't the best experience, it tried to take off as soon as I tried to use something like OneNote and the Pen was meh.
TabPro worked alright (outside of its hardware which weren't that great for the resolution), so I hope this fits the bill.

All I am getting this for is basic document editing, writing on PDF and possibly learning how to design stuff, so if this does those perfectly, I'd be happy.
Just thought I might chime in on why someone would get this :P

        • I'm contemplating whether to sell my Tab S6 and get the Tab S7+ to replace it. I have the keyboard as well and find it to be an awesome device and truly usable as a laptop replacement. Also have the latest iPad Pro 11" from work but find that DeX and windows support makes it easier to use than iPad OS.

          • @10101010101: From the reviews I watched, outside of QC issues that tend to crop up with new devices and few minor complaints here and there (no additional s-pen tips, no earphone included, and the included charger being 15W one even though it supports 45W charging), there weren't any deal breakers for me.

It did sound like a lovely upgrade from s6, albeit with massive price tag.

Fantastic post, thanks very much OP for this detailed and quality content!

  • Great effort with the post. But if you can get 5% off JB giftcards then that deal is better. I just don't know if you can buy/use that much in GCs?

edit: but then if you add newsletter $50 off then EPP is better :)

  • PLS HELPPP ME, can anyone tell me if s6 (256gb wifi only) price will go down than $1098 on HN? i mean sam is releasing s7 i think s6 price should go down then?:((( i rlly dig the cloud blue colour:(

  • Just the standard ozbargainer asking if a fellow member could help me out with access as would love to get the 5G S7+ Version and the Keyboard as couldn't purchase until yesterday and then the bonus Keyboard wasn't included anymore :(
