What Mobile Prepaid Plan Is Worth It Now?

My plan from catch is expiring soon. What's a good prepaid plan nowadays? I dont mind jumping ships from 90 day plans too etc.

  • If you are a medium data user:
Boost Prepaid $245 | 12 Months Expiry | 240GB Data | Unlimited Talk & Text - is roughly $20.41 per month for 20GB with full Telstra coverage

or just check out the Prepaid Mobile Plan tag for anything you'd think is better/more worthwhile

First move to this Kogan $15 for 3 months (20GB per month). Then this for $20 and use "Option 1 (4 Months 23GB)" or "Option 2 (3 Months 82GB)" . Repeat the cycle.

    will be under $10 permonth

Which Catch plan are you referring to?

      • Catch Connect has a plan (ID 628), $120 for 120GB over 12 months, plus all your calls. The attraction for me to get it was that the 120GB is available up front, but if you use well less than 10GB/pm or you are stuck at home in Melbourne (like me), that 120 will go a lot further

  • I use Aldi
15 dollars a month with 3GB per month
But the data rolls over so I currently have 25GB of data

    • Belong $40 starter pack for $20 works out cheaper, based on 1 year using Option 2 it would cost $110 with 91GB ($9.17/month).

It's on the same Telstra wholesale network & has unlimited data banking, but no voicemail (message to sms).

  • It seems the Etel plan (with Optus coverage) is currently the best one: $10 per month for 10 months including 7GB per month, unlimited calls and texts, and 20 mins international calls to 70 destinations. No contract at all!
After 10 months, the plan will revert to $15 per month (still competitive thou).
Must sign up by 30/09 and activate by 31/10.

  • Telstra have unmetered Apple music. If you want to have music playing 24/7 in high quality then that's something to consider, also consider just buying the data with another telco.

Woolworths (same Telstra coverage as Aldi, not like Boost). Get a yearly plan at $150 for 84GB ($12.50/mo). Sign up for a rewards membership and link it to the mobile number. Once a month, shop at Woolworths for $130 (or more) in one transaction and redeem 10% off. Your mobile plan essentially becomes free all year. Even better if you can buy wish cards at 5% off and pay with it.
