You know I got that game for $50?

Yes, you mentioned it many times on the forums and in your OP

you know I don't care when it comes out right?

Yes, again, I knew this, because of your making mention of it in your OP

          this isn't about the game

No, your post wasn't about the game, but my comment was (as the game was mentioned in your post)

guess you missed the whole point of the thread?

There was a point to this thread?

            @pegaxs:

Yes, you mentioned it many times on the forums and in your OP

Never mentioned the price in my OP at all

There was a point to this thread?

What is the point of you posting in here?, I made this thread curiously to who is amped, no one asked you to try and derail, you've done a good job so far.

            Time to block, bye.

              Because that, is actual "sarcasm"

              Glad to be blocked, thanks.

All Xbox exclusives now come out on PC so I don't see the point this generation. Will probably pick up a ps5 when the prices come down

      • -1

You know not everyone wants to game on PC, so the SX cost me $399, can you tell me where I can get a GPU that can do what the SX can do for same $?
        My current PC has

        3700X
        32 GB RAM
980Ti (for a reason, I do not game on my pc)

I'll probably buy a PS5 2nd gen when they make it capable of fitting on a shelf without taking the whole shelf up.
GT is the only thing that interests me and with Forza coming out I doubt GT will sway me to buy a PS5.

      • becuase not everyone can afford a high end gaming PC, and the S series will be a great benefit to family's that want to play next gen but cant afford a gaming PC.

    • I preordered through Telstra. I wonder if they are going to bill me like three months upfront.

      • I wanted that deal but I was with Optus, I rang Telstra an go an automated msg of if only this is important, so rang a store and they were like, yes yes but how can we help?
Luckily I did secure a console from EB games with trade in, still what you have is exceptional value. You wont be billed till you have the unit (obv) and it should only be monthly as it cites in its TnC.

      • you will be charged pro rata for your first month and the next month on your first bill, then the second bill will be the normal monthly charge

I'm Hyped for all new Consoles, GPU's and CPU's as a PC Gamer.

      SSD's and 120fps it's a good generation of consoles that's for sure,

      • 120 FPS is where it is at. I wonder with the whole x platforming thing, whether these modes will have people who play at 60 FPS have a disadvantage.

eggaz in this thread has already had his Series X delivered.

      • let's swat him, I'll be gold leader, someone has to be brown leader, they can take up the rear, let's hide in the bushes and pretend we are Menulog delivering his ahem bonus free Series X pizza.

        • +1

You sound like you'd like to take the rear.

          • -1

@[Deactivated]: You know I never said you?

    • Honestly, the more I think about it, the less amped I am. I've got a Series X to pick up, but when you look at what it gives you at the moment, I'm not blown away. While it's a big hardware step up from the XBX, graphics don't seem to be massively improved (apart from the reflections). Faster load times are welcome, but It didn't bother me that much. The PS5 while inferior in terms of hardware, seems more innovative with it's new controller, which puts tension into the triggers depending on what you are doing, and has much more precise haptic vibration.

I was always going to swap over, and seeing as EB games gave me $605 for my old XBX and XBS (which I paid net $40 for), I'm not complaining. But I'm not super pumped about it.

      • The Xbox Series X looks like the superior console.
Probably will have lower cost/scalpers, faster games, cooler system, quieter system, look better, smaller system, more storage, higher online stability, better software, more compatible games (Xbox, 360, One) etc etc etc.

….despite all those advantages, the PS5 will eventually win. Why? Exclusives, that's why!
People trust the Sony studios for fantastic (single-player) games, and they do deliver, whilst MS had trouble on this front since the late-360 lifecycle with little sign of things to improve.

        • Did you miss all the exclusivity with recent acquisitions MS has done?

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: I'll believe it when I see it.
MS has been more about having Subscriptions and Xbox games play everywhere, rather than the route of exclusives as the financial tactic, in the past 5 year timeframe.

            • @Kangal: Subscriptions has always been a thing, as it has been on Sony's portal, don't pretend MS has no exclusivity, if anything Sony kills off companies that make great exclusive titles, maybe you've heard of Wipeout and Liperpool studios, which Sony killed off?

Who in their right mind wants to play Spoodermang @ 30 fps?

      • Comments like yours really shows how much people don't understand that 60/120fps is the largest improvement to the gaming experience coming out of these new consoles.
even 60 fps in games like Spiderman is a huge jump and something im excited for for exclusives.

Faster loads times is great sure but smoother gameplay compared to the laggy 30 fps last gen had is HUGE, 120 fps for Cod is massively better too for fast paced games.

I wish Xbox series X had all Sony's exclusives as it's the more powerful console.

I have gone with a cheap upgrade from a Xb1x that I paid $650? for with 3 games, getting 350 with trade in when you can get a new XB1x for around 450.
My upgrade path to play all my inventory is $399, a newer GPU was costing 1K plus, when I use my PC specifically for content creation, ie video or audio.
This has also allowed me to spend 6K on synths in the past 2 months, bargains to be had and is a nice nest egg if I ever need to sell them on.
120 FPS is going to be a great experience and I have a 55 inch TV ready to do so.
Graphically I am not wanting Ray tracing, just give me smoother frame rates and the ability to play older games smoother. This equates to a $400 GPU upgrade that no PC upgrade path would provide.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: tbh with your PC specs you posted above it would of been around the same cost to simply get a better GPU once you combine the cost your XB1X sold for, the $399 you added and the amount your 980 ti would sell for would be the price of a RTX 3070 which is a much more powerful system than the Series X and allow you to play ALOT more older games are higher Framerates and newer games too.

For someone without a PC at all the new consoles are the better value easily.

        • No, I do understand. I even have a 9000h Sony TV that allows me to be one of the few that can do 120hz 4K, which 99.99% of TVs can't do. It just doesn't bother me that much. I've got a high end gaming PC too. High refresh is good, but it's not that much of a game changer IMO.

          • @[Deactivated]: High refresh is everything of a game changer, it means lower input lag, you're somehow suggesting that for any online gaming, higher refresh isn't warranted?
You're either trolling or just simply do not play games at all to post this.
120 FPS is where the whole thing factors out, which is why I have bought Dirt 5, not interested in visuals but the overall lower latency added with fluid game play.

I once showed friend's kid what GTA 5 looks like on an aging 980Ti which was netting me 90 fps on my PC in ultra bar shadows and grass.
His jaw dropped, now he is a console gamer/pc low end gamer never have to experienced that type of gaming.
You're in the minority saying refresh isn't that much of a game changer. You might be too used to it or spoiled for having it, yet others who have not experienced this will certainly change the way they want to play their games.
XB1x can do 120 HZ, just no one has ever developed for it and my opinion is that it would have shown how much gamers have been missing out on.
You cannot tease your user base, they will once being exposed to something better, move on to the platform that makes it easily accessible, which would have seen console gamers migrate to pc.

Obviously not in MS best interest.

            • @[Deactivated]: I'm trolling because I expressed an opinion. Interesting.

    • +1

Graphics don't really seem next generation, I feel its mainly marketed around the ssd (load times) and ray tracing, seeing comparisons of games like Spiderman its hard to tell the difference half the time. I'll probably go from my PS Pro to a 5 on its revision 2 hopefully smaller better looking etc.

Will upgrade my 1080 soon in my pc to a 3070 when prices settle down as its struggling to keep up with my 34" ultrawide.

    • Has anyone ordered their console direct from MS? I have yet to see a charge or any type of shipping eta come through - curious if it’s a common theme or I should be expecting a console later than Tuesday…

      • Ring MS or chat with them.

        • Yes I ordered though MS and they shipped it on Friday. They actually charged my account a couple of weeks ago.

          • @Agarwal: Thanks.

I tried calling them, to no avail. Chat was useless.

I’ll give them a go again during office hours, but feels like I’ll be getting mine late then.

Thanks, Snake Plissken. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

  • Pretty excited, but not sure if I should be worried because I'm getting it via that Telstra deal, and aside from the initial order confirmation (definitely Wave 1 btw) I still haven't seen any other clue that I'm getting it. Nothing in my account says I have an Xbox plan set up yet and I'm assuming they wouldn't ship one out to me before starting the payment plan right? Hmmm..

  • Coming from a Xbox One 1TB, I'm excited for 4K gaming and quicker loads etc.

It's also going to be the main media hub hopefully, since the Sony TV can't handle the throughput of higher quality 4K Remux's on Plex (surely this thing can!)

Since the main PC is getting old, it can't game, so who knows maybe I'll attach a keyboard and mouse to the XBX at some point to better play FPS like COD.

So yeah, can't wait to check it out tomorrow :) Side note, if you still have your XB1 console on the network, you can simply copy your old games over to the new one with no need to re-download. That's handy!

    • Well, picked it up and unboxed it but had to go back to work :( It's sitting there just waiting to be started up. Sure has some weight to it!

Side note, JB tried offering me the 2yr extended warranty for $79. I kindly reminded them about ACL ;)

      • So set it up last night…

Yay, Plex handles very high quality 4K Remuxes direct-play (90+ bitrate), but I need it to downmix the audio from 7.2 to 5.1, something the Sony TV app lets me do but not the XB app (or the Kodi app), so my home theatre converts it to 2.1. Or I choose the 5.1 audio track from the file, but it means my poor computer is trying to transcode and it doesn't work, just buffers. So either upgrading the receiver (ugh expensive), or seeing how to fix that.

Yet to game on it though lol

Also, controller wouldn't pair during setup for some reason. Plugged it in, worked perfectly, updated it's firmware then unplugged and she's all good.

Oh and the speed! Bloody noticeable

  • Any hope for Series X in 2020?

    • End of Q1 2021 is what ive seen for a proper restocking.

  • Black Friday restock possible?

  • Picked up my PS5 from an EB Games in South Sydney and they have Series X stock for sale to the general public - no pre order required.

Merged from Xbox Series X Is Available at EB Games

I gave Stanhope EBGames a call this morning to see if they had X Box Series X. They said they have plenty. I went there during lunch time, managed to grab one. No need to pre order or anything. I called Rouse Hill as well. They also have plenty. No PS5 though.

I had cyberpunk preordered there using some trade in deal which cost me 2 games and $29. Now that game is selling for $59. I thought I can cancel it and use the points towards xbox. They refused. 🤨 I need to get that game, it seems.

Anyways, If you want one go grab this evening.

tldr; Plenty of XBox Series X available in multiple ebgames.

    • It's interesting that they are not listing it on their website for sale if they have plenty available.

    • I called two EBs near me and they each had 8 units of the X, they won't hold them over the phone so it's first come in the store. Huge surprise considering most places are sold out until 2021!

      Jumps in the car

      • -1

Just called my local store and they also have one. WTF.

        • -4

          Post the stores ya dogs

      • It seems like there is not much demand for series x. very surprised. Hope scalpers don't generate false scarcity again.

    • +2

thanks to this post I was able to grab an Series X @Liverpool EB games.
They have a few more there but they can not hold on to any for callers. Its first in first serve.

    For fellow sandgropers:

No stock in Gateways, Phoenix, Booragoon or Canning Vale.

Phoenix had one but it was gone in the 20 mins it took me to get there.

Stores have vague indications of getting a few more next week or the week after, but no set date and no holds so first in best dressed.

    • Was there any stock in other WA stores, or did you just have to ring each one?

      • +1

I rang each of them. Didn't check with other stores, these are just the ones within a reasonable distance of me.

  • Sounds like they may have released uncollected pre orders back into stock?

    • Yeah, one store told me it was uncollected orders, plus a few they held back for any warranty matters etc.

  • I am at Plumpton shopping centre. I just talked to the guy at the counter. Nice chap. These guys have few in stocks as well. Blacktown area has very low interest in Consoles. 🤣

  • I just called EB games Chadstone and Northland, both no stock.
The person I spoke to a Northland said that they expecting a shipment this and/or next week.

  • Anyone in Newcastle NSW I called EBs in Charlestown and Kotara and they both had stock. I got one from Kotara and will be firing it up tomorrow. Super stoked, thanks to all who posted the information above.

  • As expected, Gumtree and FB market place is flooded with XBox Series X. Funny fellows. :D I think Microsoft is just having fun with them. They will have to sell for less than purchase price now. Still plenty of stocks left at Seven Hills. My friend picked one just now. Other retailers will also have more stocks soon I bet. Telstra seems very confident accepting preorders till Dec 11 for Xmas Delivery, that means they must have been promised a lot of stocks.

    • Apparently Telstra took 2/3 of the stock in AU. I dont think scalpers will have trouble selling them as family are startign to do their xmas shopping.

      • You might be right. All stocks in my area are now gone. Friends who delayed going to the store assuming the demand is not there, are now panicking. There is one guy in Kellyville who has posted 5 of these. I asked for the lowest price, but he is very firm at $1200. :-/

Only option they have is to get some orders through Telstra.

  • They must be getting in new stock too. As my son rang our local store and they said they got a shipment last night

  • Yeah plenty of stock around now, Just picked one up from EB games in Karingal.

    • I haven’t been able to find one in Melbourne northern and eastern suburbs yet. There does seem to be a shipment coming this coming week from what I’ve been told from multiple store reps though.

      • Yeah same no stock on western side as well, they had some come in last week apparently. All gone.

  • Picked one up at EB Games Knox on Saturday arvo. Handful left in stock apparently. It’s funny, they seemed to be whispering about it. Like trying not to draw too much attention to the purchase.

    • I called them around 5PM Saturday and they said they had none. Nawwww haha

  • +1

Got one just now from JB HiFi Chapel Street

    • +1

Thank you! I just got one from the same location thanks to this.

      • +1

Nice one ! .. Glad it worked out

  • My friend just got one in Brisbane from JB HiFi MacArthur Central - the guy said that they had just received a shipment and have a few available. The other JB's in Brisbane city apparently had a little stock at the end of last week, but aren't sure when more are coming in.

  • They have stock at JB Hi Fi Liverpool NSW, might still be some left
    Edit: the x

    • None when I checked today :(

  • got one from jbhifi Wetherill park. I also called Merrylands and they were like 'oh we never have one at stock, like ever"

  • Rang every single JB at SA. None of them has any stock. Some of them had Series S. However, one of the stores mentioned that all of there pre-orders are full filled now.
So, any new stocks that they receive will be available for us to buy! Also, mentioned that they know they will be getting some stock soon but can not confirm the date or the quantity.

I guess we will just to keep on trying!

  • I just picked one up from Nunawading JB for anyone near there. I also heard other stores in the area might be getting more stock today.

  • +1

After seeing this post, randomly walked into EB Chatswood Westfield after work and managed to snag the last Series X

  • Picked a series x up today from JB Hi-Fi Pacific Fair, Gold Coast. Said they had just had some in.

  • +1

Saw 2x at Target Knox. Just in the shelf. Wanting a home 🤞

  • For those in WA - I just picked up an Series X from EB Games in Belmont. They were a little coy on how many they had - maybe 1 or 2 more.

  • Heya picked up a Series X at JBHIFI Broadway, they had 15 left when i bought

  • Finally picked one up from JB at Macarthur Square this morning - I rang at 10 and they had stock, so they put one aside

  • +1

6 Xbox Series X stock left at JB Hi-Fi in Melbourne Central.

    Just got one.

  • Called a few JB/EB stores in Northern suburbs and no luck. Looks like Xbox Series X is mostly depleted until January 2021.

  • +1

JB now stocking Series S in store and online and The Good Guys stocking Series X online.

Not sure how long either will last but other retailers likely to follow, hopefully ending the supply constaints.
