    • Yes, i must say i am very surprised. Even the Ali Express website estimate wasn't until Sep 29 as the earliest. Yes, it was delivered by AusPost

  • My personal first impressions are that the phone is quite decent and snappy. Definitely seems worth the price.
My main issue so far is with the aesthetics of the phone, the camera module at the back protrudes out quite a bit (worried about scratching the lens).
The supplied clear plastic case does have a sort of a raised 'lip' around the camera module which does bring it level, although i'd still be worried about placing it 'lens-down'.

    • The raised lip seems to do an OK job of protecting the camera. It's honestly not as heavy as I was expecting, coming from a Nokia 7.1. So far pretty happy with it.

While everyone is anxiously waiting and checking the tracking endlessly, …

Is there anyone out there coming from an Samsung phone to this poco x3?

Any idea if transition or backing up and moving data and photos over easy?
How do you guys do it?

    • +2

wondering why the neggs…..maybe becoz this phone is so new and my question is not legit?

Maybe I should ask other older poco owners who have such experience.

    • Previous Samsung phones roughly in this bracket via my previous comment:
      Galaxy M31(s)
      Galaxy A50s

Backup your photos over USB or if that doesn't work for you - Google Photos (app) or Amazon cloud (unlimited storage if you have Prime), or any of the other crazy amount of cloud services.

Data? Any good app will already be cloud storing this for you.The only thing you need to do is ensure your contacts are backed up to Google or Samsung or elsewehere.

I received mine today. I opted for the standard delivery only.

    • When was ur order date….and u r in Sydney.?

  • +2

I got mine yesterday. Absoloutely love the phone. Performance for price is unbeatable. 2 issues I have though that have been highlighted by others.

    1. There is noticeable dark screen bleed around the hole punch (not that big of a deal to me)

    2. The 120hz is fantastic, but it is a dynamic 120hz. In the settings, you only get to pick between 60hz and 120hz, with no option to lock the refresh rate. So this means when you actually scroll through menus etc, the refresh rate will be at 120hz, but when the screen is idle, it'll lower itself to 60hz or 30hz etc. to conserve battery. The biggest issue with this is how this works in games. I have tried a few games out where the screen will swtich itself to what it feels like is 30hz mode and only once the screen is touched, will turn itself back up to 120hz. After the touch input, it will almost instantly put itself back into 30hz mode. The result is a stuttering mess and not very smooth. I hope they release a software update that lets you lock it in 120hz mode at least for games at the sacrifice of battery life. And yes I have tried their gaming mode and it still does not fix the problem.

    • That’s a big negative point if the refresh rate keeps jumping around. They really need a refresh rate lock option indeed.

    • xiaomi.eu rom is available on XDA, wonder if the refresh rate settings work there? (Note that some people are reporting 7 day periods for bootloader unlocks).

Still no tracking updates for me :(

Hopefully I receive it this week.

    • It's untracked beyond "Despatched to OverSeas Postal Admin", auspost don't scan it at all (or if they somehow do, not until it's at your house) - based on previous aliexpress deliveries. It could be another two weeks (the aliexpress estimate when we ordered), but if our postal services are catching up - it could be faster.

You don't seem to have a state in your profile, but if you're in VIC - Melb airport sorting centre is ridiculously slow, but maybe these will ground travel to a faster sorting centre - due to lithium batteries and lack of flights.

      • That's wrong. I've had plenty of orders starting with LB and ending with SG that have updated after "Despatched to OverSeas Postal Admin" here is what it should show.

Still a long wait for me. Very strange when people have already received theirs in this thread, and I bought it 1 minute after it was posted here. I think there was 3 votes. No idea why there's such a difference…

      Estimated delivery period
      12.10.2020 - 01.11.2020

      • Where are you shipping to?. Yes that is strange. I didn't even buy on launch day and I received it fairly quick here in NSW

        • Brisbane.

          Last update was…

          • @jimbler: FFS…and now the battery in my old Samsung S5 just died, so I'm off to find another cheap backup today. :-(

          • +1

@jimbler: I think packages are sent to SYD and branch out to AusPost for delivery, hence why people from SYD get theirs way quicker. Most should expect delivered this coming week or the following at the latest if ordered on day of launch imo.

  • Got notified cleared custom on Friday and received the phone today. The phone comes with a case and screen protector, but like people mentioned above, it's good idea to get a protector for the camera.

    • any recommendations for that camera protector?

    • Just received time today, I cannot see screen protector just the back case. Was the protector sent separate for you? I ordered 64GB.

  • Mine just got delivered today. Ordered it on the same day this deal was posted and I chose free shipping. I'm from Sydney btw.

    • Mines arrived at Sydney stuck at customs since 25/9.

After this it has to travel to Melbourne. So close yet so far.

      • Mine in the same boat
        Arrived AU on 25/09

As long as it doesnt have to hotel quarantine :)

      • So it's progressed past this bit on the tracking, or it's the same as this?

        • Do you have any update? Mine is ordered on 10th Sep. "Despatched to OverSeas Postal Admin to AU/SYD" since Sep 17.

Got mine today. 23 working days to VIC is not bad.

    • not bad at all,

When did yours arrive into the country.
Mine arrived into the country on 27th Sept., waiting for the tracker to progress

      • Mine arrived 25th Sept. Don't think you'll be able to track after Arrive at destination country; mine turned up after 3 working days from 25th Sept.

        • Thanks, hopefully mine should be here by end of the week in that case. I should stop refreshing the tracking page before my F5 key breaks.

          What are your initial impressions?

          • @nitroeagle: Fantastic phone for the price you cannot complain. Build quality solid despite plastic back. One thing I did was remove bloat straight away and initiated unlock bootloader duration which takes 7 days for me. Follow here for instructions to remove bloat. Overall very happy with purchase!

            • @dingdong3000: amazing, thank for the link. I was planning on rooting and flashing a rom when it becomes available, but this seems more sensible.

    • What suburb are you out of interest? Or could you share your tracking progress from after your "Arrive at destination country"? Looks like same arrival-in-country date as my order.

      • +1

Melbourne Metro vicinity. From what i can see it took 3 working days to deliver from SYD to MEL Metro. No status after Arrive at destination country.

        • Do they tell you that it’s on the way to your house or your parcel has arrived?
I sent mine to a parcel locker location at a gas station.
Maybe it might arrive there without me knowing. :(

          • +1

@MagicTsukai: Nope. You won’t get notification until the item is ready to be collected at your parcel locker

            • @dingdong3000: Thanks for the reply.

Did they even bother changing the status to ‘delivered’ to you now that it’s in your hands?

              • @MagicTsukai: This is tracking details once dispatched to SYD. The tracking lags behind a little but will show ready to be collected and delivered once you have collected it.

                2020-09-30 12:24, Item delivered
2020-09-30 10:21, Receive item at collection point for pick-up.

Mine arrived today. Arrived in the country on the 25th, delivered on the 30th. No updates to tracking once it got here. Delivered by Aus post at my front door with no signature or knock at the door.

Pretty impressive phone for the price. No complains so far.. Certainly very zippy and the 120hz screen is nice. Just need to figure out how to swap the home screen buttons..

    • I sent mine to a parcel locker at a gas station. If they didn’t update the tracker, maybe my one is waiting there at the moment.

    • If you haven't figured out already it's under Settings>Additional Settings>Full screen display. Deselect Mirror buttons.

      • Yeah.. all good DingDong.. thanks..

  • Mine arrived in metro Brisbane yesterday. One of my quickest Aliexpress deliveries to date. Great phone but very ad-heavy default apps.

I'm in Perth and not received mine yet. Tracking says it landed in Perth from Singapore on 17/9/2020 🙄

  • Received mine today but no screen protector. I wonder if its not posted for 64GB….

    • +3

Did you at the screen.. or more specifically, look around the selfie camera area.

      • Thanks. Didn't thought it was pre-installed….all good

    • The screen protector comes pre-installed, just look carefully and you will notice it.

  • Got mine delivered this morning. Opened it, realised that it was waaaaaay too big and heavy for what I am used to. Already put it up for sale

    • Did you end up selling it yet?

  • Sadly, Still no tracking update for me,

      • Because we won the tshirt.

    • Same. I'm in Perth and got mine today. No t-shirt though 🙂

  • Anyone in Melbourne still waiting for theirs? My sister has yet to get hers.

I am from Melbourne, I got mine yesterday on the 5/10.

Picked it up from a parcel locker in the western surburbs.

Been using it yesterday and today. This phone has been running fantastic. Big screen, looks good, smooth and apps run fast.
I've upgraded from iphone 7 and its awesome.

I'm not a photo expert but it seems to take good shots as well!

Happy with the purchase so far.
I haven't seen any ads too. I did also take some steps to disable them.

Battery life is awesome, lasts all day.

P.S: I was thinking of unlocking bootloader and maybe trying to flash Global EU rom but the OS runs smoothly already. Anyone have any tips?

  • Got my phone yesterday (melbourne cbd), feels snappy, screen looks great as well.
    /
My phone seems to be crashing when trying to go into sim and mobile networks., anyone else having this issue? im trying to enable wifi calling

    • just did a factory reset and issue still seems to persist :(

      • Which network are you on?

        • boost , wifi calling has always worked with my pixel2.

          • @nitroeagle: What is this WiFi calling and how can I test it for you. I received my Poco as well.

            • @MagicTsukai: thanks :) @MagicTsukai

Wifi calling allows you to make phone calls using your wifi network instead of the cellular network.
              https://www.telstra.com.au/support/mobiles-devices/telstra-w…

After a few reboots I managed to get into settings but unable to see wifi calling options in there.

settings > sim cards & mobile networks > select your mobile provider(Sim Card Settings) > if you scroll down you should see options for wifi calling here.

              • @nitroeagle: I am with boost too

Try the codes mentioned in dialer, will switch off carrier check, and you should see volte in these settings, I do now

                https://community.boost.com.au/t5/Setup-Phone-Support/VoLTE-…

Whether it actually works dont know yet

                • @ozblogger: Thanks for the link,
after using the dialer code, I can see the calls over wifi setting. will see if calls are actually over wifi tomm.

                  • @nitroeagle: I found something interesting that might be related:

                    Go to:

                    -About phone

                    -All specs

                    -Spam Internal Storage with clicks

                    -Phone info2 (sim card)

It has some sort of on off options for below:

                    VoLTE provisioned
                    Wi-Fi Calling Provisioned

Do you guys know what that means? Also it seems to not be able to switched on.

P.S. I followed ozbloggers codes and it opened the options in sim card settings.
