3070 cards should be coming in around the $700ish mark by the sounds tho

    • +4

No they will be $809+. But availability doesn't look good on 3000 series.

      • one of the computer stores said to me their price will be around $700ish

  • +10

I mean, it would have been a great deal a week or two ago, but now that we know the RTX 3070 is probably going to be faster than a 2080Ti and even the Founders Edition is going to retail from Nvidia for $809 next month, I probably wouldn't pull the trigger on this unless I was 100% desperate for a new card in the next three weeks.

      • +3

Yep, expect a price premium, 3070 should be $999+

      • Try NewEgg / Amazon US :)

      • Well that's truly weird, since they were fine doing it with the RTX 20 series and they had the prices listed on their Aussie site. But thanks for the update! Although who in their right mind is buying the Founders Edition card?

        • Founder would, obviously.

The fact that this has been cheaper even before Umart started to panic sell/clear inventory says a lot about their prices…

something something 3k series something something

something something waste of time and money and not a bargain something something

"For those that can't wait for the Nvidia 3000 series" ……………how can you not wait a short time for something better

    • it'll be 3 months for the RTX 3070 if you don't wanna pay the hype premium

  • +1

    yeah nahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • +2

Brave of you to post this lol

  • +1

I wouldn't even buy a 2080 super for $750 today, best to wait for these 3000 series, their performance and prices will make everything below almost obsolete

  • +2

Why would you buy this when you will get at least 50% performance gains for the same price in 1 month? You must be crazy or something to buy one right now

  • In the second hand market, on eBay at least, the sold prices for September are:

    RTX 2080Ti - As low as $950
    RTX 2080 - As low as $650
RTX 2070 Super - As low as $600
RTX 2070 vanilla - As low as $550

And it's going to come crashing down in the weeks to come

      • I'm going to test that theory, I expect price to go up in a week time

        • No way, there’s likely to be shortages with the new cards but I doubt anyone will be willing to pay prices $700+ for vastly inferior cards

          • @FireRunner: See rn the driver for these low price is the prospect of 3000s

So when 3080 gets sold out in a few hours, people will realise that there actually really limited stocks and since a lot more are looking to buy the 3070, they will readjust their expectations, and price should come back up by around $50+ of what they are currently selling for now.

As it's okay to wait like a month but to wait 3 months now that's a different story

Well that's what I think anyway

    • that's still too much by $100+ for used!

      • It's eBay which is why the prices are a little jacked in comparison. Due to PayPal and Final value fees which takes around 10 percent of the cut.

TechYesCity youtuber would probably not buy from eBay but prefer to trade in person for that reason

        • generally, these people would use the gumtree promo and sell for free, the only fee would be Paypal

and the price is not jacked since it is done via auction and people are still willing to pay over $1k for 2080 Ti

the price is somewhat higher compared with Gumtree and FB as it is clearer on the amount of interest for an item and there is buyer protection so the buyer themselves are willing pay a premium

    • I've seen a 2080 ti sell for $850 + $15 postage

    • I got a 3-month old Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Gaming 3x 8G OC off a guy I met on eBay for $500.

  • +3

    lol this aint a bargain

  • +3

    No deal here

  • +2

    I'll pass hehe

  • +1

This is a BAD deal, wait for the 3070 which will be not much dearer and is just as powerful as the 2080ti.

Wow interesting responses…. I do agree I can't personally see a reason someone wouldn't wait for the Nvidia 3000 series release, but if someone all a sudden needs a card 'yesterday' these are currently the best prices.

  • If you needed one yesterday here was a unopened 2080 super for $700 with receipt and only 2 weeks since purchased too:

I completely agree that you shouldn't buy this with the 3070 coming - but the fact of the matter this is a deal for a 2070 and this price is good for right now. The neg floodgates should be closed until at least the next series is available.

  • +1

Piss poor deal. If one has waited this long, surely can wait another week.

Watching The Fall meme about 3000 series - priceless :)

  • Decent deal only if you absolutely, positively have to buy a big GPU this week.

  • Lucky all your downvotes got used on me and not on this deal:
