Damn, that’s an old watch these days. Only two releases behind the current Garmin triathlon watch. Expensive for a watch released in 2016.

A better deal if you’re mostly going to do running and don’t need multi sport features. Has music onboard. Isn’t 4+ years old.

    $299 on Amazon

The 935 can be had for $399 on sale and is the successor. Whilst it is 3 years old it is a rock solid watch with many features.

  • Frankly even at this price I'd still wager the Garmin Instinct is a better buy…

  • This isn’t a good buy sorry as it’s just too old now.
If you are wanting to get a cheaper Garmin to test out then get the fr45.

  • Hi guys,

What would be your recommendation for a Garmin watch around 300$, if not his one ?

I destroyed my Vivosmart 2 in a bike crash, and was pretty happy with it for a daily use on bike and running.(not really used as a smartwatch, only for activity tracking).

And I need a quick GPS fix.

    Thanks !

Not sure what the hate for this watch is. Had mine a year and love it. Yes it's old and doesn't have all the features of the newer models but for $299 it's a solid entry to multi-sport watches. 45 doesn't allow loading apps or support swimming lap count if you're into tri's. If I was looking I'd go for the 935 for the extra $100 but if you're on a budget, you can't go too wrong.

Although I'd price match at JB. Rebel staff can be less than helpful when it comes to returns in my experience. JB have always been excellent for me.

    • I think because the second commenter neg'd it so badly, everyone sorta agreed, there's no doubt an insta likes type psychology about these things. Especially when the slightly older 935 got more likes https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/555881
But garmins model nomenclature is a mess at the moment, so maybe people get where a 935 vs 945 fits, but is 735XT which was a top spec beast an end of life model now? Who knows bro.
