  • Are people just flipping these?

    • Probably

Its a new Nintendo product, so yes, but there will be many waves of them so unless you have to get the first batch,

  • Got one ordered, thanks op!

Let’s hope the order doesn’t get canceled.

Woohoo finally got a second one .

    Thanks Sina

  • Finally got one , thanks OP. 🙏

I dont get it. Whats so good about this gaming console. I dont see it being worth it for this kind of money and people selling it on ebay for 200 bucks like wtf.

    • +1

      Because Nintendo

    • +2

Nostalgia, retro lovers and other reasons.
Not worth the resell price thats for sure, it'll likely end up having plenty of stock after the actual release day.

  • can someone tell me what is this fancy about? People buy this to play 30 years old mario game on a very small screen?

    • +2

I bought it as a desktop clock

      • I haven't picked one up yet, but am contemplating doing this. Looks like a fun novelty clock for Nintendo fans. Just a bit concerned about battery life and screen.

        • Tahts why I got two one as a back up lol

        • +1

Buy first, think later bud. Ozbargain style!

    • Nostalgia for a different generation.

    • Same sort of reason that makes people buy old Mario games on current gen Nintendo consoles.

      • I have Mario bros 3 on NES , SNES , GBA and in my 3DS XL lol

  • Financing available…nice…

  • Neither Kogan or Dick Smith are letting me add to cart.

    • OOS now.

  • I couldn't bring myself to pay postage and then couldn't find anything worth buying for the AMEX offer to bring up to $100

    • Why not get two ?

      • +2

        Can't, limit 1 per person.

  • +1

Dam I keep just missing these posts.

  • Sold out. oops.

  • Wow 600clicks and sold out. People must be buying them in the 10s at a time now.

    • +1

You can only buy one at a time

      • For the scalper it's still cheap with shipping costs.

        • Not much we can do, if there is demand then there will be supply.

I ordered the mini nes from Kogan. It just came in a satchel. No padding or bubble wrap. Box was damaged obviously. Actually a lot of things Kogan and Dick Smith post in an unpadded satchel. So I would probably expect these to be posted in a satchel too which means there will be some damage to the box. If you are going to open and play then it won't be an issue I guess.

If you're wondering what's the deal:

    • It's a Game and Watch, so it's a physical throw-back to Nintendo handhelds that pre-date the Game Boy.

    • It's got a full-blown (official) emulation of Super Mario Bros/Super Mario Bros. 2 so it's gonna run flawlessly.

    • There's the nostalgia value, because there's still a few of us knocking about who remember the GAW series and will appreciate (at the very least) the Mario-fied Ball, otherwise the updated 'clock' part, which would be the stand-by option for this device.

    • USB-C! Might not seem much, but it's WAY better than 3.0: sideless-connection, faster speed/charging. Nintendo led the way with the Switch as the first gaming console to have it and Apple has been all over it for years. Welcome to the future, troglodytes.

    • IT IS A LIMITED EDITION. Watch any Nintendo video or official release: once it's run is over, it's over. I agree, those who are getting in first to scalp them are just as stupid as those who buy them for inflated prices, (I bought mine for retail, FYI) but if you miss out, you really do miss out.

This is not meant to be oboxious, or rude, or deprecating to anyone who DID end up paying above retail - you do you - I'm just throwing my hat in the ring over the whole Jerry Seinfeld "WHAT'S THE DEAL?" about this thing. There's surely more info I missed about what this, so I apologise, and again - while I'm sure I'll get downvotes - this is not an attack on those who missed out/wonder what the deal is! Cheers.

  • I'd rather buy a re-release of donkey kong clamshell than this

  • +1

Much prefer a RG350 to this for similar price and then be able to play anything.

    • Ppl are not buying this to play game This is a collection only.

  • +2

It’s a feel good purchase for nostalgia reasons. Not to expensive and takes many of us oldies back to the good times of our youth when we had hair, flat bellies and no money. We will croon over it for a while before putting it on display to show our mates when they come over for a beer.

  • Impulse buy because of all the hype. I am sure I will enjoy it when it arrives.

  • Hmm..

    • I got the same email yesterday. I ordered mine at 12:59am, which was pretty soon after they went online. But clearly not soon enough.

      • I still haven't got an email saying mine was cancelled but my order confirmation came in at 12:42AM

        Fingers crossed
