Better comparison would be the iPhone 11 Pro Max, and you know how much that is….
So this is a good price!

    • There is no comparison:

A simple look at solely the display itself explains everything: An absolutely beautiful AMOLED 120Hz screen VS an LCD 60Hz panel at 828P

    • You really don't know the specs of the two phones…

IPhone 11 is like an entry range, not even considered a flagship.

Also I think you're comparing with the price of base iPhone 11 with 64gb internal memory, which maybe a joke in itself for a phone released in 2019…

  • +2

    Wow that's cheap!

    • +15

$1000+ for a phone "cheap" lol

welcome to the last ~7 years. where have you been?

        • -7

Living in the real world, not fantasy land.

        • +4

Note quite that long: my still-in-use Galaxy S6 was <$600 five years ago, the prices really only jumped in the last ~3 years.

          • +4

@ely: A quick google of the Samsung Galaxy S6 tells me that in 2015 the RRP for the 'flat' 32gb version was $999 and went up to $1299 for the 128gb model while the S6 Edge was $1149 for 32gb and $1449 for the 128gb model.

So not sure where you got a S6 for less than $600.

Edit: Even the S5 was nearly $1000.

            • +7

@Nebargains: Back then prices dropped significantly not all that long after release for Android phones. Buying a flagship for ~$600 was not hard.

              https://ibb.co/fGzV4cW

Edit: I'd be happy to buy a modern flagship for similar.

            • +1

@Nebargains: I bought a s6 around 4-5 yrs ago from dick smith for $699 also

          • +1

@ely: I'm still using my S6 as well, bought it 2nd hand a few years ago though. Great phone.

    • Cheaper compare to highly inflated RRP to make it look cheap?

  • -2

Drop the price two hours before Apple announcement

    • +2

iPhone won’t be announced till Oct 12th

  • Keep going down Officeworks!!!

autofocus in S20 series though, just realised from reviews

    • Isn't it just the ultra?

      • +1

        Yup, doesn’t affect this phone.

    • Anything wrong with af? Just sold my gr iii and looking for a mobile with excellent camera. IPhone 11 max pro, note 10 plus, 12 or this? Thanks

  • Would give it a go if it's down to $950

Does Australian model have triple sim?

    • +17

I won't settle for anything less than quadruple-sim.

      • Same here… plus Band 28.

    • Yes, you can have multiple esim loaded, but only 1 active esim. Easy to switch with fleck if a button.

  • +2

it's $700 for 512GB s10 on officeworks site but no stock

    • +1

      $600

  • This seems a really good price for this phone. Was originally looking at the iPhone 12 but maybe I go down the Samsung S20 path.

  • Price close to Samsung Ed / Gov site

Out of stock Brisbane northside stores.

  • Is this cheaper than if I bought it from samsung education store? Just enrolled but havent gotten my student email yet. Doesnt anyone know how much it is on the education portal after discounts?

The Exynos 990 chipset in the S20 series is inferior compared to the Snapdragon. Although it's just a touch slower than the snapdragon, it heats up quickly and may be in the long run not recommended. Try the new A71 - 5G. Mid range - has all the fetures as the the S20+ but priced about $350 lesser.

    • I think the A71 isn't IP68 rated and goes to 8gb ram at its most? S20+ has 12gb ram

      • Also can't do 60fps filming. :(

      • …and the camera is worse than the S20.

        • Yes, but for social media posting i think you can do with A71 camera. Unless you are recording youtube content and have a channel, this should do the trick.
The american version of S20 series are all loaded with snapdragons, its only here in australia that you get an inferior processor

    • what about camera quality?

  • what about tobydeal? they are selling even cheaper only $917. anyone bought from them before?

    • +1

just cancelled my order of note 20 ultra from them. they mark has it in stock. but after 4 days of purchase, nothing happened. after email them was told item is so popular and they are working hard to source the stock. once you are buying from a overseas seller and been told they are working hard to source stock from unknown resources, this is a no go for me.

    • Problem with buying a 5G from HK/China is that it does not have all the same 5G bands as here. May not get as good signal as 5G expands which is a shame because Snapdragon Processor is preferable for this phone.

If you want an absolute beast of a phone, look no further. This one has the vastly superior Snapdragon SD865 Plus chipset that's faster and cooler than the 2yr old, obsolete Exynos 990 chipset in the Australian Samsung phones. I'm avoiding Samsung like a plague as they treat their non-US and Korean customers as non-equals, yet, are paying the full price.

Waiting for a hot deal for the big Oppo X2 Find Pro

  • Has anyone got a 5G phone yet? What's the download speeds like? I have only a 4G and not noted any issues with downloads or watching YT and other video pursuits… ;)

    • Speed in Brisbane is average, only slightly faster than 4g, the bigger issue is lack of coverage, it will favor a weak 5g signal over a strong 4g and you'll end up with rubbish speeds. I have turned the 5g off.

  • any stock in Sydney?

  • unavailable online

    • I just ordered the grey one online…

  • We want Snapdragon Snapdragon Snapdragon!

  • I currently have a Samsung Galaxy s10+ 128GB, is this worth upgrading to or am I best to wait for the impending s21/ s30?

    Thoughts are welcome!

    • generally wait for 2 generations for an upgrade…

      • I've owned the S4, S6edge, S8+ and now the S10+.. usually what I do :)

        • Haha i came from P20 Pro, its getting slower due to the latest Android update!

          • @meong: tried 'developer options'
            - Window animation scale - 0.5x
            - Transition animation scale - off
            - Animator duration scale - 0.5x

my settings for mate 20, it's blazing fast.

not sure if your issue is same. but can give it a shot.

            • @mooreshady: Yeah I know that option but its just making animations fast.

Its actually caused by EMUI 10 upgrade. Your friend's Mate 20 got Android 10 upgrade but then got another one which is EMUI 10.1 upgrade which is supposed to fix a lot of issues with EMUI 10 itself.

P20 Pro is somehow was left out of the list of devices to get EMUI 10.1 upgrade.

    • Just wait and get a S30 Snapdragon

Note 10+ $1299 or this? Always have a weak spot for note range. Camera quality is high priority to consider. Thanks.

    • That Note is only 4G. S20+ has 5G but it's using the same old, obsolete Exynos 990 chipset.

S20+ is a much better deal, unless you need a Stylus. May I recommend the above mentioned, much better Note 20 Ultra with the latest Snapdragon 865+ chipset for $200 more.

      • Ah thanks mate, i will wait til note 20 ultra is a bit cheaper. Not in a rush to get it. Thanks

Did you see this deal as well?

      • Ahh this is a great deal! Thanks

      • Not an Ultra model. No deal!
