I think these spend $150 in one shop deal exists is the supermarket is making you commit your entire weekly spend at the one store. It means some shoppers will be adding items which ordinary they wouldn’t purchase or non sale items to get to the $150 mark. It also ensure the competition doesn’t see your money.

I think you are better off buying the largest discounted items from several stores than committing your weekly expenditure at one store for a $10 discount.

True, but balance is skewed towards money in OzBargain land.

But so worth it if you combine with a flybuys offer eg the other day I have spend $160 get 3000 points and spend $140 get 5600 points. I spent $160 online (opted for click and collect) and also collected 8600 bonus points so in reality my shop only cost me $107 (33% off on already half price items or things that never go on sale). It’s worth it when you get good flybuy deals to stack and I normally have a running list of items I’ll need to buy soon saved for occasions like this and tack on items that are longer shelf life that never go on sale eg home brand items or extra one of something that’s already half price special that I know I’ll eventually use eg morning fresh detergent. I’d never pay the full price for something I know will eventually be half price just to hit minimum spend as that’s counterproductive.

But I do agree that without certain offers and if you don’t actually need $150 in groceries each week then it becomes more expensive than it needs to be and you end up with wastage. Worth doing maybe as your big shop once per month. Woolies also puts out similar codes very frequently and you can pay with discounted gift cards and stack with their everyday rewards program.

      • Yes Woolies is so much better for online shopping because of this.

SPRINGSAVE didn't work for me but SPRING did ($150+ Delivery order)

  • coles has gone downhill rapido last 6 months my 1c

  • If they have my frozen meals on special, that'll be an easy $150 :D

  • I find these codes don't stack if you exceed the free delivery threshold.
