Harvey Norman Telstra T-Touch $98

81

Just pass by Harvey Norman today and saw they have this for $98. I have no idea about this tablet because as I remember people said Optus MyTab for $99 is a good price so I would assume $98 T-Touch with a better screen should be also a good price.

I don't have a photo of it and I cannot find it on HN's site.

Having bought one for $99, from Dick Smith and not impressed at all. Most comments here showed a preference for the Optus unit at that price.

At $98 its really not worth it. 12 months ago you might have considered it at this price, but with more and more closeouts of better spec'd machines, IMHO this one is better passed up.

The Optus ZTE one is great, but not available.

I would not buy this as a general-purpose tablet, but at $98 with 3G, I'm sure there are uses for it.
e.g. as a dash-mounted computer. Google navigation with live traffic data is nice.

      • Get second hand mytab could be good option, they usually sell for less than 100

      • I use mine to stream music from my PC

you might need to pay me to buy it…

  • At -$98, it is too much

  • OK I really don't know this tablet is really that bad.

  • I have this tablet. Great for the money but battery life is very poor.

  • i wouldn't be surprised if Telstra dumps product soon…

You wouldn't know good sarcasm if it hit you in the face with a baseball bat

    • Well how about you give me the Galaxy slab & $97 and I'll give you a t-slab

  • I have got both the T-touch and myTab, My personal preference would be on this. No doubt the mytab has a better battery life, but short on the cpu. And not sure it is only my mytab got issue or not, when updated with CM7, it keeps frozen or restarted itself. The t-touch is more stable to be used.

    my 2 cents.

+1 MyTab… Leave it alone and it is sweet! For the $ best toy yet.

        • Well, I have dumped the mytab and keeping the t-touch ;-)

it's a great little cheap tablet for travelling when you are staying in hotels with wi-fi and thus close to a power point
if anyone does buy it this is an excellent case:

  • I bought one, and although i am happy with its performance (after the indo2.2.2 flash) it has the worst battery life of any device i have ever owned…

Mine now resides in my car as a carputer and sometimes its lucky if the battery will last overnight between charges.

  • I'm using my T-Touch right now to write this comment. Upgrading the ROM to 2.2 improves its usability and battery life considerably. The biggest limitation is the unusual size of the charge plug - no usb charging. It is difficult to get spare power adaptors and car chargers that fit.

  • the tablet is good, if u upgrade to 2.2.
else by default, it doesn't work…… tried on DSE on display, the market crashes every 1 -2 min.
