            • @cptdandan: Hmm, my service is mobile and I was able to go through the mobile app sign in and go to the deal and sign up, can you do it through an app?

              • @eggaz: good thinking, just tried that but again no luck.

Rather annoying, guess it just isn't meant to be.

                • @cptdandan: I had the same problem cptdandan, I called the number and once I got through to someone (after 9am), was eventually able to order one over the phone.

I have not received an email confirmation though so still feeling a bit nervous.

MyTelstra app chat (with a human, not Codi) said there was a known issue with ordering, very frustrating as I missed out on other retailers' stock trying to order with Telstra.

New customers must take up the new plan first. Then pre-order Xbox All Access.

This deal should be targeted. Just worths for those with a Telstra plan

    • The description has eligibility criteria, it's not targeted as anyone can take up a plan or switch their existing mobile or internet service.

      • So you if I post a deal for Commonwealth costumers, the deal is not target because any one can open a bank account? lol

        • +1

Yes, exactly, anyone can get onboard.

  • Anyone else still waiting for confirmation emails? I signed up at 8am and got through to the final "congrats" screen with an order number, but still haven't seen any other proof that my pre-order went through and I checked with Telstra and they couldn't find my order number in their system … but told me to wait until tomorrow.

    • I got my wave 2 email pretty much the second I ordered.

      • Just got the confirmation. Was starting to worry, knowing my luck. phew

    • Got it right away

  • Never buy xbox before always been a PS, thanks to OP now I can try this console

    • +1

I usually get both, PS has been great with exclusives, but I have found that The Xbox One X has the edge when it comes to graphics, and game pass ultimate is very handy, plus MS has just purchased Bethesda and parent company.

  • Pulled the pin and ordered it, I was advised I was in the first batch and they are shipping via express courier on the 9th of November and should be here on the 10th. lets see what happens!

    • +2

      That's not pulling the pin…

      • +2

Sounds more like biting the bullet…but going by your username, you of all people should know!

  • +1

Thanks OP, preordered via this method but in wave 2 so probably 9th Dec.

    • Glad you got one, having it this year will be a bonus, it'll be nice to have over the Christmas break.

    • here's hoping its a bit earlier but just in time for school holidays and annual leave.

  • 24, months contract with Telstra.

But if you have a Xbox one X, trade it in you get $350 trade in credit at eb games as of right now(times ticking) but you'll need to put down $200 up front, and pay $200 for the final purchase of the console.

    Add 15.95 X 24 months and it's $382 for two years,

So that's $200 deposit, $200 pick up, and 382 for two years.

Total: $782 -$33(with slight over flow and you payed the console price, with Xbox game pass ultimate, and saved Telstra fees of almost $400

  • So you need an active contract on telstra?… can this be a fibre line as well or mobile plan only?

    • No internet included, seperate purchase

    • Pretty sure it can be an NBN or mobile connection.

Awesome deal if your a Telstra employee

25% telstra staff discount brings it down to $828 and if paid via tpoints will bring it down to $552 :) + Telstra Plus points

    • How does one pay with their accumulated tpoints? I don't see any option to do that…

      • Yeah where is that option?

      • I think that it is meant accumulated telstra bonus points that you get when purchasing it. The only way to pay via point is to go on their rewards page for redemption of goods.

    • In the same boat as you, but how do you use the points?

      • Im refering to tpoints that are accumilated via appreciate (internal rewards program) . You cannot use telstra plus points. These are 2 very diffrent rewards programs. danmate you use the tpoints to buy telstra credits via appreciate to put against your account credit.

        • If only we can convert the telstra plus points to credit :(

I dont think "T Appreciate" program being used widely (within my dept anyway ) :(

          • +1

@HmrW: All one-ups get boost allocation every month anyway… It's up to them to spend it (allocation is based on the number of DR)

            • +1

@mindurbiz: its good when they actually remember to put them in.

    • Telstra discount make this a good deal!

  • +1

Was the only way for me to purchase something in stock. Managed to get "Wave 2" which is December.

  • +1

Got mine in wave 2 - annoying but not complaining considering I wasn't planning on getting one until I saw this

Gives me an extra month to either explain the bargain, or switch this with the One X and hope the SO doesn't notice.. Let the games begin.

    • +1

Congratulations on your "Xmas" prize draw! :P

      • +1

        Haha genius!

    • +2

For everyone else who got wave 2, keep an eye on your emails - I just got one from Telstra saying I've been moved to wave 1, so there is hope!

    • +2

I can set up a fake competition website for the lads and post you guys letters explaining that you have "won" your Series X and should expect it in the mail soon. I can make it look real legit, even have emails that match the URL. If everyone pitches in $5, then I'll get this done, for the lads.

  • +5

Just got an email saying my Wave 2 order has moved to Wave 1, nice!

    • +1

      Same here!

    • Me too, pretty happy with that.

    • Me three. But will production volume meets expected demand?

      • They would not have sent the email unless they were confirmed the stock allocation from supplier, that's what I think.

    • Yep me too.

    • Same here! Stoked :D

    • mine too!

    • Same! Awesome news :D

  • Finally bit the bullet and ordered.

One thing Im a bit disappointed with the new xbox is the lack of oneview as I also used xbox to watch liveTV.

  • Also got a note saying my order has moved to wave 1.

  • You can cancel early without needing to pay off any further months of Gamepass Ultimate, only the month you're up to. Telstra are still taking preorders, but EB Games aren't. Telstra must have priority stock, they estimate 9 December delivery when I just preordered now. Telstra are at least being told information that EB Games is not.

    • Would cancelling Ultimate reduce the monthly repayment to Telstra though?

      • No, it's offer as bundled.

        • Yeah that's what I thought lol

  • +2

got email, moving to wave 1!!

  • If anybody wants game pass ultimate I know someone who sells them half price

  • Not worth signing up for a Telstra post paid plan just to get access to this. Would be a great option if that condition didn't exist.

  • Does anyone know if Telstra would do a credit check on me if I ordered this, even though I already have an existing account with Telstra?

    • +1

Can’t remember 100% but I think so. I have been a customer for a while and I think I saw something in there about it during sign up.

      • Thanks mate, I might hold off for a bit.

        • Serious question, are credit checks really that bad? When going in for lending, from experience, if you have multiple checks on your account and there is any concern around undeclared loans the lender will just ask you if you went ahead with it or not, lots of people shop around at different lenders all the time.

          • @eggaz: It is applying for credits that brings your credit score down.

            • @avoidfullprice: Is that always the case though, not having any credit checks can have an adverse impact too, these days their credit reports are pretty detailed, with repayment history data available.

              • +1

@eggaz: Not sure where you get the idea of not having do credit checks can have adverse impact. I'm referring to hard enquires on https://www.cleancredit.com.au/the-difference-between-hard-a….

It is up to your future lender how they treat this credit check. If you eventually sign up to this 24 months repayment contract, Telstra likely to do another hard enquiry to make sure you can repay them even if you're an existing postpaid customer as you are increasing your "credit" with them.

          • @eggaz: Yea do not shop around.. i moved to Aus 2 years ago and being new (but with a job) getting finance for a car was a mission. Applied at like 15 places and all but 1 declined me as I had nothing in Aus yet and not even my first payslip. 2 years later I can't get anything as my credit score is still low (around 400) due to all of these inquiries and i get above 100k.. its stupid :(

          • @eggaz: The only reason it’s a consideration for me is because I’m currently in between a home loan going from pre-approved to unconditional. As far as I know, the bank runs a credit check prior to issuing pre-approval and again prior to granting the loan unconditionally. I don’t want my credit score to change during that time, I’ll just wait another week.

  • Local telstra store says that telstra are getting 70% of the Australian allocation so that's why we should get it through them..
Would this be true? Or just then trying to get me to sign up?

  • My order just got cancelled.. wtf?

Sorry, we can’t proceed with your order.

    Hi ,

Thanks for placing order with Telstra.

Unfortunately, your existing Telstra account isn't compatible with the plan you've chosen. This means we can't proceed with your order and we’ve cancelled it.

Rest assured, if you’ve already made any payments for this order, these will be refunded in full.

If you have any questions, please contact us via messaging in the My Telstra app. To use messaging on your device, open the app, go to the ‘Get help’ tab and tap the speech bubble icon. Get the My Telstra app.

    • Wow wtf, did you chat with anyone online to work out what has happened?

    • Same wtf.

      Did U talk to them?

      • Just got delivered… didn't talk to them… I think its their system… I had to change the delivery address… I think their system must have to cancel something to put in a new delivery address.

  • -1

As per my calculation the series X costs you $2 extra for game pass every month.

  • Just got mine delivered..

    • how did you get the xbox all access work.

I dont see any link in my telstra account.

      Thanks.

      • Still not opened it lol

  • +1

just contacted through their app, this is what the chat telstra person said: "The order is complete but there is no product being send out."

I am like "what do you mean? where is my xbox?" and they didnt reply to my msgs anymore…. I can see my contracts has started though.. oh man, this is gona be a nightmare..

    • It got delivered late arvo anw!! Dont know what happened with the telstra rep earlier in chat…

  • Anyone know if we can sell the xbox? Or it’s binded to your telstra account? Thinking of going to ps5 instead..

  • Got it today. They didn't knock or get a sig, just left it outside.. still, it's nice.

Am I thick, regarding the Game Pass portion? Cannot figure out how to activate it .. Are we supposed to get a code to redeem or something? Can't see anything in the email documents which explains it.

    • Bit of a mess I think .. Got on to chat, they say just got to Settings > My Account > Subscriptions, and it should be there. But then the More Information when viewing the Xbox All Access part of my Telstra account says: "Token Redemption: Your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate token is included in the console box and must be redeemed to your Microsoft account to activate the service."

They responded with a "Not sure, give support a call".

      • Update, Telstra got me on to Xbox and apparently it's a known issue for some people. The console is suppose to have the 24 month Game Pass subscription waiting to be claimed in the "Included with this Xbox" section of Settings > My Account, but on some it's only showing the standard 1-month.

They said they're working on it and will have to get back to me about getting it resolved.

        • Further update, Xbox support has got back to me, and apparently I'm supposed to activate the 1 Month Game pass subscription, and it will extend each month in the background as per the contract with Telstra .. I guess this makes sense but I'm baffled why literally no one up until this point could tell me how the subscription worked, not even Telstra who have been offering Xbox All Access for a couple of years now.

We'll see what happens after the first month I suppose. Happy gaming!

  • Its sad that there is no stock.. wanted to grab one for my 9y old (and myself haha).. looks like I'll have to settle for a cheap xbox one x lol.

  • Anyone received their bonus Telstra points yet? I have not.

  • I just managed to put an order through? Says delivery after 9/12?

    • Yes, same as mine - confirmation email says after 9th. So anywhere between then and xmas

  • Anyone has gotten or knows when we will get the telstra+ points? Im thinking of exiting out of the plan.

    • Yes I got mine, doesn't appear in the Mytelstra app, but does appear when logged into the desktop browser.

    • haven't got mine yet, though I think it might go through after my first bill ..?

      • I did get mine after my first bill so you might be right about that

        • Yep, just got my first bill and my points appeared.
