DSE 1-Hour Deal 7-8pm AEDT - Panasonic Cordless Phone Triple Pack, $89.50 Inc Free Delivery

221

Following on from Big W yesterday, for this week's instalment of the DSE 1-hour deal, we have..Panasonic Cordless Phone Triple Pack with Answering Machine for $89.50 including free delivery!! Cue more cheers…"Go DSE, you're the best"…
Now I don't know jack about cordless phones…I'm of the belief that land lines are just tools from which tele-marketers can get a hold of you, and the only reason I have a landline is for internet purposes (Goddamn area doesn't support naked DSL)…but it's supposedly half price, and for those of you with massive houses, or just can't be bothered walking too far to get to your phones (you can now place them in strategically within reach with 3 handsets), this may come in handy…

  • Is this panasonic set better quality than their special on Uniden set the other week??

  • Does the base unit have the facility to answer the call right from the charging base and not use the actual handset, obviously the main base unit?? If anyone can help me out finding the information that will be great! Thanks

can be a useful function, found my ex cheating on me with it. He didn't realise i can listen in on the call from the base….idoit!!!

      • Wow, that's…hectic…

        :)

No neg. means ur ex is not on OZB.

      • This will be $89.50 well spent for those currently in a similar situation.

    • NO - this unit does NOT have speakerphone on the base station.

  • Product info: http://dicksmith.com.au/product/F7743WEB/

    5.8GHz
    Caller ID
Ringer ID (different profiles, so you canm tell who's calling)
    Duplex speakerphone on handsets

    Not a bad mid-range unit

    • Thanks for that, post updated..

    • And it's using FHSS, not DECT. In case you are looking to hookup old/other handsets like me.

  • Does anyone know if the "talk" and "off" buttons are also illuminated, or just the dial numbers. I have a 6yo Panasonic twin set at the moment and the numbers illuminate, but other buttons don't, which makes it hard to make and answer calls at night. Have been great otherwise, clear reception and original batteries still holding charge, so I will stick with Panasonic for next set.

lol, DSE rip you off so bad (on this deal anyway) that even if its half price, you're still paying more for this then its actually value. For instance, on ebay you can get this exact same thing for less than $75.

Link? Just had a search myself and could not find the same set, brand new for anything close to "less than $75".

  • My family spends heaps of time on the phone, so I chose the other DECT deal DSE had a week or two ago for $69. I was reading 5.8GHz frequency phones although a bit clearer might cause harm to your brain. DECT phones run on a lower frequency. Not sure if I believe it but at $69 I will believe anything :)

    • I think higher 5.8GHz frequency is now used to not disrupt general home Wi-Fi frequency which is at 2.4GHz. However, it doesn't help when you have a dual-band wireless router.

  • Does anyone know if this will mess with my dual band wifi setup? That last uniden dect set specifically said wifi friendly whereas this does not and is fhss?

    • +1

yes It is FHSS Tech model (TG4393ALT).
      http://panasonic.com.au/Products/Cordless+phones/FHSS/KX-TG4…
      Though DSE Site says : Available in Single Pack (KX-TG4391ALT – F 7741) & Twin Pack (KX-TG4392ALT – F7742)

Anyways all of them have FHSS tech.
I have the single KX-TG4391ALT, and I am quite impressed with it. Clear voice and long battery. It goes more than a week without charging, where as my Uniden stays for 3-4 days without a call.

      • thanks gagans. does your pana mess with the wifi?

        • no. I dont thnik so. But there is a strange problem I have with my wifi. It sometimes disconnects(2 seconds) and connect back again after 1-2 hours sometimes or after 1-2 days.
Modem was replaced by Optus and same problem.
I dont know if any of my phone. Both of them are 5.8 Ghz and my modem is sigle band at 2.4 ghz

  • Could I transfer a call from the handset to the base with the speakerphone without hanging the call up?

  • Here is Choice magazine's 2009 test on the one-handset version of the phone. It came third last, let down badly by its limited range and low battery life.

Still, a good deal for three handsets.

    • I have both Uniden and Panasonic and definitely on battery Panasonic wins over uniden. Voice clarity is almost the same. But buttons on Uniden have failure rate much higher than Pana.
Uniden have one plus point of being good looking.

      • I second you gagans. The Panasonic is the best cordless phone i've owned - bar none. The Uniden doesn't even compare. Battery life and voice quality is second to none.

        DeWalt

  • Just had a quick look at this phone set at my local DS. I wasn't impressed by its design and quality though.
Uniden sitting beside feel much better but with a higher price tag :)

  • postage $9.95. It is not as in description.

    • $7.95 to my place. Why?

      • not sure. tried few times still charge me.

        • Thanks DSE. I'll pass this due to misleading advertisement

    • +1

Sorry, not my fault, it was advertised as free delivery…take it up with DSE for a refund…

  • wow, finally a phone that has Family Home Support Services (FHSS)….could have helped you with the boyfriend problem.

And someone had a go at me a while back for using acronyms.

  • +3

Advertised as free delivery when its not. I know its not op's fault, but surely this is wrong.

  • any plans to reclaim the cost delivery?
    7.50 to me…

    • Call them tomorrow? I think they will refund.

  • If the wrongly advertised free delivery wasn't bad enough. Its not even a 1 hour deal since its still the $89.50 except that its still not free delivery. Get your act together DSE.

  • Package arrived today.

    Everything looks well, charging now.

But, Speed Dial. In the manual it doesnt mention how to set it up, nor is their any indication on the handset itself.

Could use some help with speed dial,
    Cheers.

  • I still haven't received my refund - has anyone else received theirs?
