Oodie Hooded Blanket and Weighted Blanket Bundle $149 Shipped @ The Oodie

730
BLACKFRIDAY-OODIE-BLANKET-BUNDLE

Just saw this while browsing for weighted blankets. The weighted blanket by itself is $139 and Oodies by themselves are $99.
The site says the deal could expire at any time, but it's also apparently a black Friday deal too so it'll probably be around for a while.
First time poster so please don't hurt me

Is it a onesie, or a blanket?

    edit - its both haa.

    • so is it both, or one of each, or one is both and other is one?

      • it's one of each brother

        • so the oddie is not made of weighted blanky?

          • +1

@capslock janitor: I do not believe so, it is just a warm jumper blanket thingy? however im not sure

and the weighted blanket is $149 on its own

            Offical wording below:

The Oodie Weighted Blanket is 198cm x 121cm.

The Oodie Wearable Blanket is a super soft one size fits most hooded blanket. It is based on a 6XL hoodie.

can anyone vouch for the product?

    • +2

my friend hella vouches, (profanity) it just bought one (She vouches for the oodie) not the blanket

      YMMY

    • two of my friends bought it, both recommended it

    • +2

My partner and i got them as gifts last month and we love them.
      They're super cosy and warm.

    • +2

I have tried a few, including comfy. I think all of them might come from China? The ones from China without the specific brand name you can get delivered from around $15 to $35 normally without sales. Probably order next year. Comfy on sale is normally $49 and $60 without if you want it faster (the one that was on shark tank).

      • Any links for the China knock off stuff ?

      • +1

Have both a cheap Chinese knock off, as well as an Oldie - can confirm that the latter is much better quality. Not even close.

My wife basically lives in hers

    • +1

I have 2 (bought one for me and one for my SO)

They're super good and you can hermit in them :D

Only issue is that I keep knocking the toilet rolls out of the holders with the sleeves :P

Wife and I love our Oodies.

    Made in China?

  • Thanks bought a set!

trialing the blanket and oodie bundle first…if it's any decent, might do the mega pack as Xmas presents..

    good for bloody victoria winter

  • +3

I have one, best thing to fall asleep in on the couch. Bit bulky to do anything around the house except walk around in.

They're like Crocs, you don't want to be seen outside in one. Late in the season to be buying one now so it'll be for next year.

No idea what the blankets are like, not my thing.

  • +2

Ordered the bundle for my partner. When you select avocado it shows as shipping 13th October, but when you place the order it shows as shipping on the 17th November…

  • +3

I was looking at these about a month ago. They had the same deal but the code was WINTER. I wonder how often they have sales. I’m interested but seems pointless to get one now as it’s getting pretty warm.

    • The blanket bundle isn't always available, but in the 6 months or so I've been looking at them the multi packs have always been the prices listed above and the single are either $20 or $25 off.

      • Actually, the 6 pack is new, the 2 and 4 packs have been there. I assume the 6 pack will always be available for that price too though.

Worth noting : Can be machine washed on low ( or delicates ). But not tumble dried, last time I washed one of these it had to dry for so many days, that we hardly use the product anymore.

    • It does say that. I've been doing mine in the dryer on low, 15 mins then turn inside out for another 15. Then it's completely dry within 24 hours. Probably less it's mostly the cuffs, I have 3 so I don't bother checking before then.

Much difference between the Oodie at $99 and the comfy at $60? https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07DKSY26D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i…

    • +7

According to the Comfy rep, they actually stole the idea from them so most likely pretty similar? Must really suck for them if true though, Oodie looks like the more popular option. Wonder if it’s because they do a range of prints

    • +4

I bought the Comfy when it was selling for $49.
Can vouch for it. Real comfy and keeps you warm.

      • +1

Go the comfy. It's on sale $49 normally, else $60, can buy it next winter.

    • My housemate got both and slightly preferred the Comfy, but there's not really much difference between them. I got the Oodies because cute animals.

  • Can vouch for quality bought one for myself and my grandma who always feels cold and she loves it

    • I would go for the comfy. I think that is the original one on shark tank and the price is better?

  • Do you use a weighted blanket on top of your normal doona cover? And if so, does it not get insanely hot?

  • Wasn't this on Shark Tank?

    • +1

see above, the Shark Tank one was the Comfy who claim the Oodie copied.

  • +2

These are great until you wash them and the fluff inside gets all spiky :(

    • +1

the fluff peaks out?? that type of shit???

  • Without having tried one, and thinking more for the Junior Texans beds, how do you know how heavy to get the weighted blanket? 4.5, 6.8, 9kg options.

    • +1

Guide on their site but generally X10 to get persons approx body weight is 9kg for 90kg +

      • +1

Yes, I should scroll a bit further next time!…

        WHICH WEIGHT SHOULD I CHOOSE?

Aim for approximately 10% of your body weight.

  • +3

Bought the Comfy….cheaper and very very warm. probably just paying the premium for the designs.

  • +1

We have one and it is all polyester and lost its internal fluffiness after a cold wash.

Haven’t tried fabric softener on it yet.

  • +1

    Just in time for summer

  • +1

Most people say THE COMFY (https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07DKVCNLZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i…) is just as good so essentially paying $90 for a weighted blanket which may or may not be worth it (can anyone vouch?).

The patterns do look cool though, might be a good gift idea.

    • +2

I own an Oodie and my sister owns a comfy. My main gripe with the comfy is that it is much thinner, an certainly feels cheaper than the oodie. With that said I cannot vouch if one or the other is actually warmer, I've only briefly worn the comfy to try and get a comparison. This is just my personal preference though.

  • +3

shame they don't use non-synthetic textiles. this stuff releases microplastics like crazy

  • Their oodie is amazing for winter. Highly recommend

  • Has anyone heard from them? I made sure to order the in stock ones but haven't heard anything.

    • Same. Nothing yet.
