  • i wonder how much they stick out being that colour

    • +1

Depends on the colour of your skin I suppose. That color can probably blend in better for people whose skin is close to that colour, as opposed to black or white. Pity it's shiny though!

      • +9

        Ironman has entered the chat.

    • +2

Isn't it closer to skin colour so would stick out less?

      • How do you know asa79's skin colour?

      • +2

        I'm blue, though.

Also $217.55 with Officeworks price beat.

    • Does anyone know if you can price match online or over the phone and pay with a gift card?

      • Yes, just call 1300 OFFICE (633 423) and tell them that Amazon have it for $229, they will verify and price match over the phone for delivery. You should be able to use gift card over the phone with the CS rep.

        • +1

Tried doing it before on the phone, but the CS rep did not allow use of gift cards. Asked me to do the price match in store physically if using gift cards.

Hehe - Dankpods (Wade) doesn't really like them - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gf82ore28uo
But people might have different preferences.
    YMMV.

    • +2

Tho this one loves them, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iB_qDxwJm_U
      Personal preference really

      • +1

Agree - but thought to post as PSA.

    • +1

I have them and I really love them :) they're comfortable, sound awesome and the touch controls have been working great. I'm not a fan of Bixby but also being able to say "hey Bixby pause music/next track" can be useful

      • +3

        probably better then siri tho

        • even siri is better than bixby

Have had these for a few weeks - actually really like them.

I like the "open air" design that allows me to be out and about without having a clue what's happening around me. I've often resorted to only wearing one ear bud in the past, as I hate being in public with no sound - I think it's dangerous.

The fit is actually great - they stay in my ear better than pretty much any other earphone i've had. Initially they don't feel as secure and I was a bit worried, but after a few hours, I got used to them and have no concerns about them falling out. I have not used them for running or anything, but have used them whilst around the house cleaning and gardening outside etc. and no issues.

Sound quality is above average without being amazing, and the microphone seems to work well.

The Active Noise Cancelling is pretty poor though, but being an open air design, to be expected.

    • +1

Yes, this! I constantly go into peoples rooms in a remote camp where i work and have to take out my current buds to knock on their door and check if there is anyone in there. At least 20 times a day, hoping this will solve that.

    • I've used both variants of Samsung Gear IconX's and they had "Ambient sound mode" where it turns on the mics and overlays it over your music so you can still hear your surrounds. Do these not have a similar feature?

    • Yeah i was impressed, worth it for not having to go into the ear

    • I think the fit is going to depend on the individual a lot as they're mostly hard plastic with only the two options for rubber "grips", so they don't conform much like a typical silicon headphone. I like mine, but to find they wiggle loose throughout the day and often when I push them back in it triggers the touch sensor which is not ideal. I've had them fall out twice in as many weeks which makes me hesitant to use them while exercising, and they seem to get loose when I move my jaw a lot (eg while eating).

I think if they fit well then they'd be great, but you won't really know until you try them, which is a problem with all earbuds.

I sold my cow on the way to the market and got 5 of these !!!

Better off waiting a fortnight for Prime Day

    • +1

This was on my mind, however i work away and delivery for when i'm home vs always waiting for the very best price don't always line up:(

      • Send to your neighbour 😁

        • +1

No need just buy now, if it drops at prime day, buy another, return the new one with the old order

    • Or Singles day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. I would be expecting some decent sales this year.

    Kidney beans

  • they really look like kidneys

  • Thought those were kidneys for a second there.

  • Guessing this is the least popular colour… I can guess why. Not the best looking colour IMO but I have the white ones of these and I really like them.

  • sell one kidney for a fair of kidneys, good deal.

    • Should have laid off on the alcohol, your kidneys could have been worth more.

  • at this price how do these compare do Sony wf-1000xm3?

  • +8

One thing that has prevented me from ever jumping on the true wireless earbuds bandwagon, is that it's quite a big pricetag for something that may not fit properly. Unless people are able to either a) try before buy, or b) return if they're not comfortable. A reviewer saying "they fit well" means nothing for me, since everyone's ears are different.

    • yea that's quite true, got a pair of BOSE ones, one side fits, the other side always gets loose.

    • I'm surprised manufacturers don't have these in moulds that you can get or order for a small fee (and perhaps a voucher towards a purchase).

      • i am not. huge added cost (manufacturing/logistics) for consumer tech that sells itself.

      • +1

I'm surprised manufacturers don't have these in moulds that you can get or order for a small fee (and perhaps a voucher towards a purchase).

Do you mean moulds that are customized to your ear? They are a pretty expensive affair. You need to pay an audiologist to take impressions of your ears, that alone costs about $120. You then have to mail it off to the manufacturer who would either cast it or laser-scan and 3D print it. If you're lucky it'll fit perfectly the first time, if you're not you'll have to send it back for reshaping, or possibly get another set of impressions taken.

Some people DIY it with mouldable earplugs, but that won't work with BT earphones as they won't fit in the case any more. :)

        • Not quite, I meant the dummy samples that people can test out to see if they fit. Even if they are only in the Samsung experience stores and you have to return them to be cleaned that would work.

But the custom fit moulds do sound really neat!

    • Try spinfit

  • This or jabra 75t or sony wf1000xm3.

    • 85t coming out. Looks like will probably fix all the bugs that's in the 75t

      • What bugs were in the 75t? I haven't encountered any?

How do these compare to actual kidneys?

  • Price dropped very quickly

  • deez beanz

  • Can someone please comment if these are better than buds plus or sony xm3?

    • +1

I like my Buds+, but prefer these. The sound and fit are both better. Per above comments, being able to walk around and be able to hear ambient noises is more comfortable.

  • Pair of beans

  • Anyone with a motorbike helmet able to comment if these fall out when you out your helmet on/off?
Do they fit well for the gym too compared to airpod pro?
Yes I know all ears are diff but someone who has airpod pro could comment on the fit against those.

    • "1 thing that AirPods & Galaxy Buds Live have in common is that both skip the soft ear tip design, ie one-size-fits-all approach, which means that good seal can be hard to find. You might notice some ambient noise.

With the lack of seal it’s easy to knock either pair out of your ears. The Galaxy Buds Live fare bit better because there’s no 'Oral B' stem to snag when you’re working out or walking around the house.

      Winner: Samsung Galaxy Buds Live

      • The Buds Live come with 2 sizes of tip though.

    • These are much better for the gym IMO. I wore galaxy buds to the gym and they weren't great due to not having any IP rating and also just that blocked ear feeling, and I think they contributed to me getting an ear infection with all the sweating and stuff being trapped in there.

A mate got a free set of these with his Note 20 Ultra but didn't want them so I borrowed them to see how they go and they're perfect for the gym, much better than in-ear ones. They actually feel like a better and tighter fit than the in-ear ones too, much more comfortable too IMO.

  • +3

I like the idea of these but I'm the opposite to a lot of people. I want isolation.

I hated my apple airpods because I basically couldn't hear my podcasts whilst walking along the road or if an airplane flew over. Can anyone comment on whether the Galaxy Buds Plus really do isolate more due to the inner ear fit?

      • Yeah, the airpods also dont fit my ears. I have to buy after-market wings for them. But, of course, they dont fit in the charger with those so I have to carry extra stuff around and fumble around to get them in my ears. That's another reason I am wary of the buds.

    • buds+ are great at sealed fitment. amazing sound curve and decent audio passthrough. they honestly compare with the ANC models because they seal so well.

  • Heaps annoyed that I preordered the Note20 Ultra 5G to get "free" buds only to have the phone and buds reduce in price so soon.

    • you should get off ozbargain then

Looks like Amazon put the price up? I can see $266.64 via the link OP added

  • how does this compare to the buds+

  • price keeps on changing

  • Price keeps shifting on Amazon link… for anyone still after at close to original bargain price I found (All colour options too):

$230.99 + free shipping on Kogan
    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/heybattery-samsung-galaxy-buds-…

    • is this grey import stock though?

  • +1

Buds+ are better due to a closed design providing some PNC. The open design creates problems with sound leakage and also noise getting in.

  • looks like 2 kidneys, probably cost 2 kidneys
