20% is only retail price according to the guy I spoke to at myer carindale. Best he could do on Samsung PS51D550 was $900, they were doing them for $800 2 weeks ago….
It might be worth it your after a high end TV but for the low end plasmas it definitely isn't worth it.
If you wait till end of Nov, you might have better bargaining position as that's when they have to ramp up sales to meet targets. It's mid month now so they're unlikely to give up margins so easily.
I think there are a few hopeful ozbargainers eyeing for <$700 during Xmas sales for the Samsung 51" Series 5 plasma TV. The topbuy.com.au deal earlier this week has set this benchmark. I suspect that we will see some of the Series 6 features cascade down to Series 5 in the new 2012 model line up, hence the dramatic clearance we see in the last quarter of 2011.
I got Little Big Planet 2 for $10 at Myer… I'd say that was a bargain. Bargains aren't always easy to find and not every item is a bargain but they do pop up.
I should've been clearer, I meant especially electricals like TVs home theatre stuff where the prices are usually a fair bit higher then other retailers

Notice that in the entertainment section, there's 15% off on kitchen appliances. Good to know Myer is thinking of female entertainment.
if u are in nsw, better u check at victoria basement first. i bought my wok at myer, and find out victoria basement $40 cheaper for $180 wok.unfortunately my partner already use that wok, otherwise i will return it to them
