          Search for string lights on bunnings and you see lots of them. The one I referred to is this one:

          Yeah their reviews are average.

            @itstuan: It's a shame they are all plastic. The Aussie Sun will kill them unless they are placed in the shade. But they are only 30 bucks and you might get a few years out of them. Perhaps someone who has them placed outside and exposed to the weather can chime in and let us know how they are going.
            Do these things have an IP rating?

              @SonOfATightASS: Though it can be used outdoor, it's still best to pack up when the party is over or when you won't be using the outdoor space for a while. That will probably make it last longer.

    Purchased 3 sets. As I connected each one they became dimmer and dimmer.
