Saw this deal in price hipster. Seems like a decent deal for the specs.

Standard 1650 and likely 1 stick of ram which is a massive bottleneck. Dont touch this shit.

    painfully average price.

  • +1

could probably build it a bit cheaper from scratch but seems fairly reasonable for the price,

I feel like I haven't seen a tech fast deal in a while.

    • +7

I actually searched for a techfast 1650 build, but granted this is a 1650 Super. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/557609

  • How does this PC have 5 usb-c ports? When most custom builds only have 1? Is there a way we can add more?

      Someone at Binglee needs Specsavers.

      1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type C
      5x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
      2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A

      • He's reading the desc of the deal.

        • +1

Yes and he copied it from Bing Lee who need Specsavers because it's wrong.

For anyone curious what the insides look like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2Qmbk8Sl68
Edit: Its a different spec but gives you a general idea at least.

    • It looks worse than techfast pcs.

      • Yeah, these big companies seem to make the worst prebuilts. Dell's Alienware ones look just as bad.

As I returned my Dell g7 and I'm looking to get a desktop, was wondering how does this PC compare to the i7 8750h and rtx 2060m in the Dell I had?
Any website someone can recommend so I can have a look at the benchmarks?

    • I returned my G5 SE as well. Why did you return?

      • Also curios on why u returned it

        • +4

The main reason is because when powered by the battery the graphics card would get locked out at 300MHz gpu and 405MHz on the ddr. Couldn't play anything without the charger, not even SimCity 4. Dell tech deparmtent said the problem was with the graphics card so they replaced the mother board. Didn't make any difference.
Other reasons i returned it is that the touch pad got stuck twice and i barely even used it. They replaced the top plastic apparently the problem wasn't with the touch pad. The new top side of the laptop made the keyboard hard to use, the keys especially the space bar didn't function properly.
One of the fans had failed after 3 months, started making a grinding sound.
The laptop ran very hot up to 100C° on the graphics card and 95° on the processor which resulted in the games dropping out on frames(this is when power was supplied by the AC adapter)
I suspected the laptop would soon fail right after the warranty period so I raised my concerns with Dell and also since it was unusable when battery operated I returned it. The battery life was terrible too, up to 2 hours of internet browsing.
Wouldn't by another gaming laptop, especially not a G7

@Winston100s: Did you get your money back or was it dell credit? Also how long after you first purchased the faults starting to show?

            • +3

@Aerith-Waifu: Fans and touch pad failed after 3 months. I cannot specify exactly when the graphics card started locking out on the battery as the laptop was constantly plugged in, I would guess after 6 months. The touchpad again failed after 4 months since having it replaced. I got a refund, money back.

I bought the new SE, was freezing a lot, then the display suddenly stopped. They told the model which I bought 2 months with ago 300 nits and 144hz is no longer available, and they can only put a 250 nits and 120hz screen. So they refunded it, as the new model is cheaper

    • Any particular reason why you returned the dell mate ?

        Details above :)

    • If you want to go for a prebuilt pc, I would recommend this deal

Comparison between a mobile and desktop 2060

However, I would rather recommend you to build a pc as it is a great learning experience. Here's a build which I just made which will perform better than the one before however costs a bit more and is more expensive however does have more high quality components.

      https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/PpkMnL

I would also recommend adding a few fans.

Gamer Nexus and Hardware Unboxed are great channels

      • I wouldn't mind building a PC myself, I've done it in the past, however I've see every now and then, prebuilt systems being cheaper that the ones you make on your own.

        Thanks for the links.
