Dyson DC29 Multi Floor Vacuum Cleaner $398 + Turbine Head @ $97 @ Harvey Norman Springvale

131

Been looking for a long time. This is the best deal on Dyson so far. Turbine Head is optional but strongly recommended.

This product is sold at other Harvey Norman stores @ $569 (as per URL).

This is a grand opening special. I believe it'll last until end of Nov (at least).

  • This model does come on sale from time to time for about $400. We got it last year. Seems fine to me, but my wife hates the little plastic clip that hold the head on the machine when not in use. It's snapped off twice (2 replacement heads from dyson). Makes absolutely no difference to it's operation as a vacuum cleaner though!

  • There's a new model..

you should get this one, I hear the new model sucks.

It does, but that's the whole idea of it.

      • that was the joke…

  • Is this nosier than an ordinary vaccuum cleaner?

    • I don't think it's any more unpleasant than my mum's vacuum cleaner (for example), just more expensive!
Not sure it's worth the money as compared to a $200 va yum cleaner (but this the only vacuum I own so I don't really have a comparison).

  • does anyone know if other harvey norman would do the same price? i live in sydney all i see on the harvey norman site is $569

I would Bargain with them. If someone buys it, Take a photo of the Receipt and i'm pretty sure they will price match! I love my dyson vacuum cleaner, wouldn't go back to a cheap vacuum cleaner after I seen the amount of Sh*t normal vacuums don't pick up! good find!

  • DC35 Animal $389 (and $10.95 shipping) at oo.com.au

  • I bought a DC29 earlier this year from The Good Guys for around $390. Excellent unit. Agree with other people about the clip that holds the hose/head to the vacuum itself being fragile so I just don't use it.

Highly recommend them. I was always sceptical until I took the plunge and bought one. Much much better than bag-based vacs, but I can't compare them to the cheap yum-cha ones, having never used one.

I would like to get one but the cheapest I can find in Perth today is 559$. I might need to wait until X'mas SALE.

  • DC35 Animal from OO is something completely different. Not suitable for a medium/large house.

    • Yes it is. Kinda half way between a normal handheld and a full sized one. Good for a flat or small house. Or as well as a big one (or you're so loaded you can spring for both).

  • Hi bargainking, you said "This is a grand opening special. I believe it'll last until end of Nov (at least)." … I've just given the store a call and they have no record of the special (they said it was currently $549 but they could come down to $449.. similar to what another Harvey Norman store said). Do you recall where in the store you saw it advertised? Did you actually buy it (if so do you have a copy of your receipt?). From what I hear $449 is about as cheap as you'll get it at the moment (the $400 price seems to be only when Dyson drops their cost price… $450 is apparently pretty close to cost price for them with a bit of margain I'm assuming).
