Found the Deta branded USB wall outlets on clearance at my local Bunnings (Narellan NSW). Not sure if statewide. These are USB outlets only (not powerpoints).

  Still not cheap really, Costco usually has dual usb and dual power point Combos 2 for 20 bucks. Might be useful if you need usb only for some reason (E.g child care centre)

  I seem to recall these types of things having a rediculous residual current draw when idle. So do your homework on these. Could be an 'oxybargain'.

    Around 1w is a common figure. Not what I'd class as ridiculous. I still don't like them though
