I was just about to claim some more cash back on my card, and I thought "hmmm, I wonder if the CBA boffins have remembered to deactivate this promo…" To my surprise, upon calculating my cashback amount with the mybonus101 code, there was an additional 10% added!

Just make sure you don't fall for the same thing I did. You don't put this code in the normal checkout promo area, you put it in in the cash back calculation box. It then automatically calculates the cashback at the 10% off rate.
As nfr said though, shop around for gift cards as they often give better $/points. Cashback is good for paying back the bill (although I think getting the best value and spending more is the ozbargain way!)

Even with 10% cash back you still do not get the best return. Generally kmart/target/Bob Jane giftcards give you the best return for cash-like awards.
Yes, that has always been the case, but unlike cash-back you can only "buy" the giftcards for a limited number of very specific retailers.
Cash-back of course gives you $$ to spend as you wish at any merchant that accepts your flavour of CBA CC.

the reason why it is still active is because there is a new deal going i believe with the same codes.
i recevied a letter in the mail telling of the new deals. there are a few new ones going around but i dont have the card here with me maybe someone else can update. there were 5-6 codes in total.

I'm lazy, can anyone tell me if the house insurance rebate is the most efficient "cash back" kind of reward from CBA? I have house insurance with them. I'm sure the annual fee used to be the best value for points, but it doesn't seem to be any more.

I can't get it to work either… I can see how it works for cash back but for gift cards there's no prompt for code.
The only prompt I get is right before the check out and it says im not eligible either.

$$ spent = points accrued.
There's a catalogue of "awards", which have varying "costs" in points.

Just checked and your are right, it does still work.
Giftcards101 is no longer active however (they actually seemed to de-active this one before the end of the last promotion).
