  • F me just bought from previous deal TGG eBay last night

      F to pay respects…

You should be able return? assume you've kept the box unopened.

    • -1

buy another, return the new one using the old receipt (assuming they don't record serial numbers on their reciepts)

    • I bought it from the TGG deal as well, still hasn't been delivered :(

      • If it has not been shipped maybe you can cancel the order? If it has been shipped, you should be able to return it as it is unopened?

        • It has been shipped but hasn't been delivered. I am in Victoria :(

I will check with their eBay store if they accept change of mind returns.

  • Now I want to kick my head for buying it from TGG for $432.15 (including shipping) a week ago!

    • Have you got yours yet?

Chromebooks with ARM processors have proven time and again to be weaker than models with x86 chips; the Duet has an eight-core, 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio P60T processor and is one of the quantitatively slowest Chromebooks we've tested in years, losing across the board in our benchmark tests.

As a current owner, I'd say benchmarks aren't going to demonstrate the real world capabilities of the device. Its not a power users device. But I can easily be watching a Twitch stream whilst using Chrome with multiple tabs open. Just as easily as I can play PUBG Mobile or COD Mobile. For the money, great device.

      • I'm curious to know how it performs for video conferencing.

I have a HP x360 Chomebook which is great, because the microphones are brilliant for cancelling echo / background noise. I'm wondering if this will be suitable.

Works superbly for Google Meet. I used mine every few days for it.

      • Able to play x265 mkv at 720p or above? No need 4k of course.

        • +1

the video chip has hardware h265 decode so it should be able to play it at 4k even

    • eMMC storage isn't ideal either.

Nice. At the same time it's also super frustrating that it's supposed to be $299USD + Tax. The fact that it takes a $200 off sale in Australia to achieve slightly US MSRP is outright jokes.

    • I know it sucks (and I share the frustration) but factors probably include transportation and logistics charges to get the product on our shores, then the cost of unloading, distribution locally etc. Factor in a smaller market here, so marketing costs and other overheads probably have to get absorbed by a smaller number of units (sales) and add on top the retailer costs / margins. So the higher price probably reflects a lot of these higher costs (e.g. higher wages here than vs US).

      • When you factor in out distance from manufacturing location & such, it's really the last sentence of yours that sums it up. They know they can get more from us cause we don't have the alternatives. "The Australian tax" has been well documented over the years.

Now I feel like ripped off for paying $499 to JB.. Lol

  • Oh wow! Very tempting.

  • great price, paid $425 recently, nice second or third device.

  • This device keeps getting better and better!

Yeah I got the Lenovo USI pen to go with mine and it's so handy. So useful as a secondary device.

  • Just found out this only supports 1080p 30hz output. I don't know why I expected it to at least support 1080p 60hz out of the box :(

    • Because its a chromebook!
And all the rest support 60hz for External monitor hookup…..
And this should support the standard of every other chromebook….

Is that a good enough reason why? >:-| @ Lenovo

  • order confirmed - thanks OP!

  • Total scam by ebay as per usual.

We've got to kick them off this site.
