Is it the latest from sony? Better than galaxy buds plus/live beans?
These came out last year. I bought them earlier this year on sale. I don't think they're for everyone because of the size, lack of wireless charging and they're not water/sweat resistant. But I do really like them because of the sound and ANC. The Samsung Galaxy Buds/Beans have more features and they're a lot cheaper. However, I personally don't think they sound as nice.
I wear mine for running, have run up to 22km with them in and no issues with sweat impacting the sound or damaging the earbuds in the 6 months I've been using them for.
I still want to argue that these aren't as great as reviews made them out to be. They're chunky, not waterproof/resistant, the ANC is nothing compared to over ear cans (i know i know, no buds can), and did I mention they're chunky af?
I owned both the WH and WF and loved the former, hated the latter. I wish/hope Sony can improve on looks and invent some sort of magical ANC for buds that rivals cans (just like how they came up with magical ANC for cans). And sh*t, get IP rating on these or it's a nonstarter for a big slice of their demographic pie.
Can vouch on hating WF one but my excuse is due to personal reason though, namely I can't stand earbuds with silicon inserts, it makes me feel violated and uncomfortable (which now that I think about it, why did I think it would be any different with this one and decided to buy it anyway), oh well.
One of your complaints is you want the impossible; can quality anc on buds. Good start.
The other is size. These stick out MUCH less than other options. They're longer and flatter which is great. They're a bit larger to get a solid battery life with anc.
Also, if you want ip, get sports buds.
Basically listening to music on short flights, buses, or in the office, these are perfect.

Not actually true. The Bose QC20 earbuds released in 2015 still has top rate ANC compared to current models. Agree with all your other points though.
You are right. How could I forget the QC20. I had these years ago and it set my expectation for ANC on buds. It was a pleasure to fly in them.

Yeah. These aren't worth even 180.
I bought them from Sony for $311 few months ago. Had to return them because they are the most uncomfortable sets I have ever used.
Call quality sucks as well
Put these to the test on a 1.5 hour flight on friday. On the aisle and two crying kids to the back and front rows of me,m, I was in dire straights. Kicked off Netflix and the kids crying disappeared. First time I'd used them outside of work in a year. Very impressed with the ANC. Wouldn't hesitate at this price and the whites better as you could find them easier. Always looking around for my single black ear piece.
