Can’t believe they sell egiftcards which you can’t even use electronically

    • almost got stung the second time.

    • You saying you cannot scan the eGiftcard barcode at the self serve registers from phone?

      • +3

Add the card to Stocard and you can.

        • hmm … I had no issue scanning the barcode from the standard Coles ecard previously

      • I thought Coles had the functionality long before Woolies did…

      • +2

ofcourse you can. on the flybuys scanner

        • +6

You can’t use them to order online for click and collect or deliveries

          • @strikerzebra: Don't think any of Coles you can that I've seen

      • +4

i think strikerzebra is saying that suncorp sells egiftcards that can only be used instore. i.e. kmart and priceline.

How can it have 24000 limit when the total cards is 10k

  • can you buy cigarettes with the coles e gift card, asking for somebody

  • +2

And they are dropping WW & Caltex WW eGC to 3% from next Monday
I normally buy the Caltex WW eGC from them, take advantage of instant delivery
Sometimes I just find that I need more when I check out at WW
Can no longer be the case

    • Cashrewards still has 5% ongoing.

      • +2

yea, but it's not always instant. sometimes 20-30 mins, not sure why

        • oh wow, why did I get a downvote?

        • that's ture, maybe buy in advance. worth the 2% i guess.

      • +2

Woolies has just began the process of going to 3% everywhere unfortunately .

    • where did you see this?

      • +4

It's on a banner at the top of the suncorp vouchers page "Effective 10am (AEST) Monday 19 October 2020, the Woolworths Group will reduce their eGift Card discounts. Woolworths and Caltex Woolworths eGift Cards will be reduced to 3% discount."

Hopefully the Big W ones are staying at 5%

        • OMG - I have a bad feeling that the reduction will apply to purchase via Cashrewards eventually

          • +1

@Gleung: I wouldn't be surprised. I doubt Woolworths will feel they need to do anything more than match Coles at 3% going forward. Even 5% is barely worth the annoyance. The vouchers are like petrol tanks in my household. I go to use them and they're always damn near empty, just a couple bucks left, check the next one, same thing. End up using like 5 vouchers to pay for the groceries.

          • @Gleung: I heard that it will be dropped to 3% within 1 weeks, so get some if you still need it now.

  • Sweet, thanks Op. Time to stock up.

Open a free suncorp bank account - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/464881

      • Thanks for that. Is is just like normal bank accounts, do I need to use it regularly if I intend to open an account with them, any fees?

        • No account keeping fees. I've had it for over a year and never put a cent into it. I've only got it opened to access the Suncorp Benefits which you can pay by Visa/MC without CC fees.

P.S. Suncorp Benefits is a separate app to Suncorp Banking.

    • If you have a suncorp insurance policy it should also work.

      • Unfortunately I don't.

      • +1

Insurance at AAMI (which is owned by Suncorp) also gives you access, I found out recently, at least for the one I have (comprehensive car insurance).

        hol up

      • +3

Haha, I dont really care about downvoted, just hope to make a laugh or 2.

        • Hehe, alright then, you instead got 3 upvotes lol nice :)

      • What's the reference?

  • Good to see it back

It would be great if Coles eGift card purchase takes Amex card for payment and the charge is classified as Supermarket spending - I really miss the 3x Amex membership reward points (on Platinum Edge)

  • +1

Is there app to manage Coles Gift cards like Woolworth wish card app?

    • +2

Unfortunately not similar and as convenient. But you could use Stocard for storing and scanning.

I use Google Pay to track all of my egift cards except for Woolworths. It doesn't automatically track the balance but you can manually update.

One part I find useful is to have a separate shared Google account. I add that account in Google Pay (eg. on my phone and my wife's) and add the egift cards on that account. So when either of us buys a new egift card, we add it once and both of us can see and use it. Before we set that up we were always asking each other if the other one has any current egift cards and sending copies back and forth.

      • We do the same :-)

  • I just created a new account and logged in into benefits app, when I try to add giftcard into card, I get this error.

To start shopping, you need to add an active product into your App or your website account.
    Can someone help?

You can get 4% discount thru AGL REWARDS.

    • Severely limited though.

      • limited in what way?

get 4% off 500 from there, then buy more elsewhere as needed, like here

    • And NIB

      • NIB charges 1.00% surcharge on payments

Does Entertainment Book or Reward Gateway have Coles vouchers for 5%? (or just Woolies)

    btw - red sus

  • Anyone else have issues loading the rewards store? It just shows 3 featured egiftcards and not the entire catalogue

  • +1

Coles sucks so bad with their gift card eh..

    • +2

instead of negging, you could at least help the community how to get 4-5% which is as easy or easier than suncorp.

      • Lumo rewards has it at 5% but charges a 1% credir/debit card fee. Still works out to 4.05%.

        • It's 4% off from Lumo now.

  • Better than nothing as it deliver instantly unlike TGG

I really hope that one day Suncorp will add support for Apple Pay to the app. The faster the purchase process is, the better it is for its users.

Previously I had a credit card from Westpac registered in the app and all I had to do is to provide a three digit code when buying a card. It was not perfect (there are still some extra steps that could be avoided) but it was ok.

Now I am with ANZ and for whatever reason for Suncorp App transactions they also send me a code via a text message for every single purchase which even does not get automatically populated by iOS in the relevant form. It is a royal pain in the ass to buy a gift card on the go now.

    • Do you use ANZ credit card? Does ANZ treat it as cash advance? Thanks.

  • +1

You can still get them for 4% off using bank transfer at Union shopper.
    https://www.unionshopper.com.au

  • Must be eastern states only
Our union, only has Vic/Qld/SA available options. (Need member number confirmed)

  • On the payment screen on Coles website their is no option to pay using gift card!

    • Coles doesn’t accept e-gift cards online

      • What a shame! Go Woolies then
