Kogan Mobile Prepaid 40GB/30 Days for $3.90 (New Customers)

540
HIGHFIVE

Great 30 day plan to see you through a port out from boost and back.
Use code HIGHFIVE to get an additional $1 off!

Original coupon deal

Was with kogan a couple of years back and was satisfied with their vodafone network with surprisingly good speed. Yes the coverage generally isn't as good as Telstra/Boost but for 30 days you can't really go wrong.

  • I thought this and the 20gb/30days for 3 months was an on-going deal until November?

    • +2

You're right it is a duplicate. For some reason it didn't get flagged when I did a history search.

Although It is a whole $1 cheaper now

      • +4

Not a dupe then if it's $1.00 cheaper. Good deal, upvoted.

  • +1

Use their HIGHFIVE score for 5 percent off
    And comes down to 3.90

    • Will that code also work with new 365 day plans?

  • New customers only?

    • yes

  • 5% off the normal

    • 5% off $4.90 is $4.65. This deal is $3.90 so it's more like 20%.

Waiting for this to drop to $0.99, happens each Oct/Nov and May/June.

Miss the free voucher and 0.99

      • They'll be back soon, in Oct/Nov.

    • A search found no $0.99 Kogan offer in November 2019 but it was available in June 2020. So it could go either way.

And Catchconnect doesn't have the $4.90/40GB/30 day SIM anymore.

      • Yes, but in Nov'2019 there were better offers by Catch Connect.
        $10 Cashback on $4.90 for 30 days 40GB.
        $12 Cashback on $15 for 90 days 54GB.

I had taken both of them. Yes, right now Catch has discontinued both these plans, but hope to see Kogan give $0.99 offer in Nov this time around.

Kogan did return with $0.99 offer in June'2020 after a 1 year break from the same.

  • Does new customers mean you've never had an account/plan with Kogan? Or just that you're coming from a different telco/retailer?

    • I believe it means not valid for recharging an existing Kogan number.

    • +2

The second one. But it's more about the NUMBER. New customer = new account/phone number, not new person. And you can have as many Kogan account/numbers as you wish except you can only use the same credit card 5 times then the Kogan site requires a different payment method. There's also the 4 active SIMs government nonsense, but just say NO I don't have more, because it's none of the government's damn business how many phone numbers I want to have.

And if you're porting out from Kogan planning to port back into Kogan, then you have to wait 30 days. But if you just use the new number printed on each SIM pack there's no wait and you can activate as many as you like (5 SIMs per credit card).

      • Thank you for the informative and extensive response

      • +2

With Zip pay, you can generate unlimited new credit card numbers. And safe to not recharge.

        • so….unlimited kogan first trials?

        • Can you explain how this works? It will take $1 temporarily, so will that generate a bill at Zip Pay?

          • @Joe Teo: Single use so no more charge later. $1 will drop off in a few days.

    Pathetic service very slow

    • +2

Fantastic service, very fast. Sucks if your on the moon :( Are you on the moon willco?

    • That depends on where you are. I’m in Brisbane, and my reception was far better with Kogan (Voda) than it is now with Belong (Telstra).

      • I had terrible reception with Belong.
Even in areas where I got reception with Boost, the coverage on Belong was terrible.

    • Good in built up areas, poor to nothing in country areas. OK at this price though.

      • I've seen the exact opposite. I've seen comments on here from people in Sydney complaining about Kogan/Vodafone reception, while I'm in a tiny rural town but get great speeds. In other words no meaningful generalisation can be made.

  • Great 30 day plan to see you through a port out from boost and back.

May as well save $1.90 and waiting for the Kogan SIM to arrive in the mail (or else paying $2 for a blank SIM from a garage making a total of $5.90) by using a $2 Telstra SIM from Colesworths. Port to the $2 Telstra SIM, but don't recharge any value onto it, then port out again.

  • Has this expired? I'm not seeing any field where you can enter the code. And why is the cashback button showing above…. doesn't the discount code mean you won't qualify for cashback?

  • Where do you input the code?

    • It's dead now, that's why you can't input a code

  • looks like it's expired

  • Where to key in the code?

  • Thanks. Been waiting for one of these to use with a $30 ubereats voucher

  • -1

So it was available for a whole 5 hours LOL.

  • Missed this, I didn't even realise it was on.
