  • Seriously considering buying this, is there any TVs being released in early 2021 that I should wait for?

    • I think that the only reason you would not, is because you want HDMI 2.1 compatibility for next gen consoles, which this does not have, but the X9000H does have (despite being a cheaper model).

    • If your a gamer. YES

if your not a gamer get the 9500H

    • +1

      yeah maybe!

      from this page

If you’re looking for a high-end Sony 4K LED TV, you’ve two choices: X95H and X90H. Both support full-array local dimming but the X95H has a better Picture Processor X1 Ultimate chip, Sony’s X-Wide Angle tech and a sleeker design.

That said, the X90H is more suitable for gamers. According to Flatpanelshd, the X90H’s HDMI 2.1 port will support 4K @ 120fps, VRR (variable refresh rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) after a future firmware update. Both TVs support eARC.

    • If your a gamer then defiantly as the x90h as HDMI 2.1 Ports. If your just watching TV and Movies then the 95h is a better TV, more local dimming zones etc, brightness etc. Whether its worth the $500-$600 premium is up to you. Pretty much guarentee you'll be stoked either way, especially if upgrading from a TV that at least 5 years old.

      • Yeah i could of got the 65" 95 at $2600 3 weeks ago if i wanted to wait for stock, got the 65" 90 for $1995 delivery same day and $40 GC, didn't see $600 difference myself.

Cheaper through TGGC if you don't want the Kayo subscription. Or may be able to convince HN to price match with commercial and also get Kayo.

    • TGG is delivering for free.. at least for my postcode

    • Link? My dumbass couldn’t find it. Only 65

      • Yeah you're right, only 65" and 75" on TGGC, $2415 and $3397

just looking at the review of the x90 on cnet and man it looks crazy thick!

if you're wall mounting, something to maybe consider. 70mm deep. my 10 year old plasma sits 65mm from the wall including the wall mount thickness. the sony is a thicc boi

    • Its thick because of the Full led Array, which give much better blacks and is less likely to suffer from light bleeding..
Compared to my Samsung , my Samsung is a lot thinner, but now suffering light bleeding at the bottom… its 3 years old.. :(

you are correct thought, not sure if you would wall mount it unless the wall was recessed.

  • Does anyone have a comparison to this to the Samsung Q95T models? I'm tossing up between the two but Q95 is looking more expensive.

    • +1

The Samsung Q95T is a level above the Sony X95H, Rtings is my go to for comparisons but they do not have the Q95T rated yet.

The Samsung Q80T is probably the comparison to the Sony X95H… I just bought the Q80T (arrived Monday) & have been incredibly impressed so far. https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/sony-x950h-vs-samsun…

      • +1

RTings does have the review for the Q90T, which is the same as the Q95T without the separate control module.

        • Thanks! This helps, it's a fair chunk in coin (about 1k) between the Samsung and Sony. Not sure there's a 1k difference

  • How do we get this to work on the X9000H :(

  • How is the x9000H as a tv?

    • great

  • I was SO ready to buy the x90h and just found out only 1 port is 4k120, all the others are standard 4k. I wanted at least 3 ports that were 4k120 :(
    https://youtu.be/rI2QIOhMa50?t=218

    • +1

Just a note, both port 3 and 4 are 4k120, but port 3 is also the eARC port. So essentially only 1 port if you are using eARC/ARC…

I wish they didn't drop their 43" and 49" sizes. I would have jumped on a 49" version of this TV. 55" is too big for my space.

  • FYI: firmware update for X9000H is out now!

    • not that i can see

    • Source? Can't see anything being mentioned anywhere.
This would be reported pretty much everywhere if it was released.

  • Interesting how expensive TVs still are at this time of year compared to previous years. This time two years back I bought a Panny OLED 55FZ950 for a tickle over 1700 bucks.

  • I just had my 85" x9000h delivered today from Harvey, Got it for $4800 with free shipping. Plus $200 gift card from latitude and 1 year of Kayo.

    • +2

I'll definitely be going for the X9500H when the price is a little lower in the coming months. I game on my PC so don't need a TV for gaming purposes.
