      Storewide exclusions!

Fuji X100V at $1670 is a great deal. I paid $1900 for mine a few months ago

    • +1

how do you like it so far? autofocus fast enough?

      • Yeah we've been using it most for family pics and it keeps up with my 4yo well

    • +1

Paid $1670.40 from Digidirect Ebay 15% off deal a few weeks ago. Not sure why 15% off is the same as 20% off haha. The eBay store had the same price as retail store at the time (then a 15% discount code applied).

Loved the 100F. Amazing Travel camera.

      • I still have my x100s and love it. I feel like everyone that has bought one of this lineup is always happy. My friend picked up the x100v and it looks fantastic

      • +1

Still have my X100F and don't feel the need to upgrade, it does everything I want (basically family photos) really well.

  • Thoughts on G7X markii vs Xf10? Anyone own these cameras or can suggest a better value point and shoot?

edit: would love low light capabilities

  • Damn it, last month bought $800 gift cards via Amex deal just so I can buy DJI minin on their 20% off deal…my bargain luck is slipping

    • didn't know i could buy gift cards using amex deal, doh!

  • -1

Too many exclusions. Go Pro, Canon Camera's basically all the good stuff. Only thing 20% off is AAA batteries :D

  • Does this apply to pre-order items? Eyeballing the Sony A7sIII. I can't seem to find the T&C's.

    • +3

      Digidirect Terms & Conditions

It says A7 III is excluded but I'm pretty sure they mean A7S III cause the A7 III is discounted. No way they would discount 20% off the A7S III. That's just crazy

      • Hmmm reckon I can pull it on a technicality ;P

  • Damn, prices on Sony APSC lens have all dropped significantly all of a sudden. purchased Sony 18-135 on an ebay 20% last month for 767 from them (which was cheaper than everywhere else). Now its down to 678ish (inc postage)!! At least most sellers are still well above and jb are still selling for $1099!!! prices are so messed up atm. these aren't too far off pre-covid pricing now

After the Prime Day, I don't think anyone still needing anything

    • There was bugger all for Sony camera shooters in Prime Day

Far out, the website is shitting itself….I cant even add anything to cart without having error 503….

    • Panic buying. Just in case we find a vaccine next week. You won't be able to take a breath without a lense cap up one of your nostrils.

  • Sony fe 1.8 35mm, good price at $799

    https://www.digidirect.com.au/sony-fe-35mm-f1-8-lens

      This is a better lense:

      Sony FE 20mm f/1.8

      • +1

        Different focal length, diff usage

      • I have the 20mm. Great lens. Also the Sigma 35mm F1.2 FE Art. Another great lens.

  • +2

It's nowhere near storewide if that many brands are excluded

    • +3

They forgot to put storewide as part of the exclusion list. Raise it!

  • +1

Thanks OP. Ordered a Sigma 100-400. Had seriosuly been considering rolling the dice with Toby Deals for this Lens but this price is even better.

    • You're welcome! I've been eyeing that lens, the Tamron 70-300 too!

Had my eyes on the Fujifilm instax SHARE mini Link - $127.20 seems pretty good

Have just started seeing this Xiaomi smart home kit listed on PC Byte etc.. But 20% and still bonus Qantas points on Smart Home products all Oct makes it appealing (4 in 1 zigbee kit)

    https://www.digidirect.com.au/xiaomi-mi-smart-home-starter-p…

Also cheapest I've seen the ZMI QB810 which is a nice ultra thin power bank.. not that we are travelling right? Will probably grab for friends

    https://www.digidirect.com.au/xiaomi-zmi-qb810-10000mah-usb-…

Looks like some not 20% still have separate promotions like Microsoft is discounted. I saw JB were 15% the other week, but you can get the bonus points on these too

Website is very slow probably due to large traffic.

Trying to buy a camera. Their website is not working.

This is why I ordered my gear then posted it here 😅

  • -1

Is Digidirect good with their stock status?

    • +2

No. Not at all. A couple weeks of wait was common even pre COVID. Won't be surprised if you have to wait for months before shipping it during COVID. They won't update you unless you email them either. From someone who's bought from them multiple times.

      • OK. I couldn't remember if this was the store or not that usually delays delivery. Thanks for confirming.

        • I've found that if you check their eBay store, you'll get an idea of what they have in stock, since eBay items ship out pretty much straight away. Whenever I've ordered things directly that wasn't on their eBay store (or out of stock on eBay), even paying extra for "express shipping", I would find that they need to order it in from the supplier - sometimes taking months as mentioned.

Otherwise, you should be able to send an email (or perhaps call) to ask about stock levels before purchasing. I've always received a response.

    • Ordered the camera 15/10 and picked it up at their Cannington store on 17/10. Price paid for Aussie stock less than grey import price.

      Top outfit. Very happy.

  • +5

Just be warned that your may not actually get the item shipped for months, this was my experience during their last sale and others have had similar experience. Don't expect an update either, because they won't do it.

    • I see that CR Kennedy have a back ordered statues on the 85mm Art so I figure I’ll be waiting a while for the lens but surprisingly I’ve never had to wait that long with Digidirect before.

    • Yeah they might be moving to a drop shipping model so that they can reduce overheads? They didn't have any Sony, Sigma or Tamron 2470/2875s for me to have a look at in their Brisbane store several months ago. They said that they were still fulfilling orders from one of their previous sales.

That's both a blessing and a curse tbh. The digital camera warehouse in Annerley is no more, so I hope they and camerapro in Brisbane remain healthy businesses. I've supported all three in the past and have received great service at every place.

  • Great price for the new Sony SEL1224GM.

    https://www.digidirect.com.au/lenses/mirrorless-lenses/sony-…

Yes, I realise most people wouldn't consider spending almost $4k on a lense but it's hard to beat for anyone into astrophotography!

    • Damn I just got a Samyang 14mm 2.8 for $300 and I already felt like I was splurging on a lens just for astro haha.

  • do digidirect do 25% off ?

    • I’ve never seen them so 25%, 20 seems to be the max. I was looking through their sales last year and most were around 15% and 20 seems the max.

I think they are only doing 20% so often due to the fact they’ve jacked up the prices so much.

      • I've always looked at camera gear = 20% off digi direct + 9% TRS (when travelling overseas or when a relative travels out) + cashback (if applicable). Usually this combination gives me a good deal. Now i just buy second hand and calculate using the combo above to score some good 2nd hand deals

  • Camera experts, would appreciate your help please.

What would be the best budget camera for YouTube channel and Vlogging? Mrs is currently using a Samsung S10+, so I am wondering what would be the next level up?

(Note: Preferring one of those Sony compact cameras as we already have a somewhat bulky Nikon D3300 DSLR Camera)

    Thanks in advance.

    • +5

Depends on your budget but consider something like the Sony ZV-1

      https://www.sony.com.au/electronics/cyber-shot-compact-camer…

The S10+ records pretty decent video so I doubt you'll see significant improvement in a cheaper camera.

Alternatively you could spend the money on lighting, a good microphone and possibly a gimbal if moving around

    • Not sure about camera suggestions other than getting one that lets you plug in an external microphone like the new SONY ZV-1. Microphone quality in vlogging videos I feel is understated. It's probably as important as lighting.

  • Their business is still disgusting as ever.

    • Why? Care to elaborate?

  • Has Leica ever had a cash back before? Really tempted to switch from Sony Full Frame to Leica APSC for the experience. Not comparable sensor size i know but i'm curious about Leica colour buzz. Leica CL and TL2 now having 20% off. Wonder if I should wait til Xmas/Boxing Day/Black Friday if they have better sale. Thanks.

    • No cashbacks that im aware of with Leicas. As for the Sony v Leica - keep in mind Sony (and pretty much all other) raw files can all be edited to any particular look, so the 'Leica colour buzz' pretty much only applies to jpeg files straight out of the camera.

      • +1

Yeah but you can't tell people you shoot Leica with a Sony.

  • +2

Thanks OP. Been waiting for a sale on Peak Design.

    • Peak design makes some very nice stuff. I have spent way too much on it personally.

      • Once you bought one, it's hard not to invest to the whole ecosystem. But very pricey although in my opinion, worth it.

  • You might to check with them before ordering. I ordered a Pelican case yesterday and got an email this morning advising "not in stock awaiting product delivery". Some of my DD orders have taken three+ months to arrive. Something to keep in mind.

  • This deal made me curious to see what other camera deals had happened in the last month or so as haven't been ozbargaining as much… and I just found out that I missed a great offer from Olympus that I had been searching for since the start of the year. Lesson learnt…always check OzB!

  • +1

Lots of epensive home security items listed but not one dscounted. Eufy should be added to thier list of exclusions. Taking a closer look at other items, it’s more like a spot sale. Storewide claim is misleading.

  • +2

For those worried about stock, I purchased a lens in-store from Camera House and they were happy to price match.

    • Thanks for this. I just did the same with my new Sony lense. They had to call up Sony to verify the price, but they delivered it in the end. Picked-up to day and super happy!

  • Ordered Rode ntg 5. Then got email ‘awaiting stock”

‘Due to your ordered item being out of stock, we will have our supplier ship one out to us.

It generally takes 7-14 business days for stock to arrive at our stores. However, we are experiencing delays due to issues caused through the coronavirus pandemic.’

I’ve order lots from them before and had no issues. Just keep in mind that if you need it straight away it seems they do sell items they don’t have on hand to ship. Would be good that they made that clear on purchase.

  • An update for those who are curious about stock.

I got a shipping notification yesterday and AusPost are estimating it will arrive Monday.

  • -1

Although Ricoh is not in their exclusion list its not 20% off

  • A digidirect amex offer would be great right about now

Purchased a fujifilm x-t200 on 18th Oct with this deal and still haven’t received it. Called DigiDirect today and they said it is out of stock and supplier is unable to provide an eta. They couldn’t confirm if it is a matter of weeks or months, so I decided to request a refund. Hopefully the refund gets processed in a timely manner but quite disappointed that they sold an camera that was out of stock and the lack of updates.

  • +1

Ordered a Sony a6600 body + some accesories on 20-10-2020.
Emailed multiple times for an ETA, finally they get back to me yesterday 09-11-2020, saying they have 1 out of 6 items (a mini tripod) in stock.
No ETA and supplier cant provide an ETA on the rest of it.
I might have to cancel too.
Bit disapointed they have sales like these where they cant even provide an ETA even after a month, not to mention lack of updates to the customer.

    • Sounds like they're effectively an Australian dropshipper. Whether we like it or not, it seems the new normal is to buy and wait, for however long it takes for the sale to be completed.

It's a difficult thing to swallow if you want to use your new purchase over Christmas and the New Year's holiday tho.

      • I think most suppliers are doing that with certain gear. When I was trying to buy the Samyang AF 85mm f/1.4 months ago almost every store I checked with here in Sydney told me they don’t hold stock and it comes from the supplier.

        • You want cheap prices, this is the trade offs you have to deal with

          • @SmellyTofu: For me personally the wait wasn’t even that long, just like 2 days extra. I also see their 20% off prices being the actual pricing before they jacked it up.
