  • Can you withdraw the $20 to your bank account? Or is it zip credit?

    • Zip credits, similar to AmEx statement credits back offers.

  • I think they also have a $6 monthly fee if your balance is over $0?

    • Always pay off the owing balance in full by the last day of the current month for the spend in the previous month and you'll never get charged this fee.

For Zip Pay, you can pay it off by a credit card to extend your interest free days up to 60 days plus the up to 55 days on a normal credit card.

      • What credit card do you use? It seems thar some banks charge cash advance fees if you pay off using credit card.

        • TBH, I have not paid off Zip Pay yet. I plan to pay it off by Bundll later this month, another up to 3 weeks interest free.

I have paid off Bundll balance by Kogan CC(by Citigroup) and earned points so it is a purchase transaction.

I can also confirm LatitudePay is also considered as a purchase transaction by Citigroup.

BTW, Zip Money does not take credit cards.

I use bankwest credit card, not classified as cash advanced. Its double postponing for me so it helps with my cashflow. But tbh i dont use zip pay too much

          • @countmein: Thanks for the info. I think only some marginal banks or financial institutions may consider cash advance for Zip Pay.

          • +1

@countmein: Can confirm Bankwest Zero doesn't flag.

I pay Zip off with Bundll and then with my Bankwest card

      • How is the sting out of large bills taken away if you need to pay it all off by end of month to avoid the fee? I don’t get that

        • You pay it off in full by a credit card like other things, still earn points (if it yields), and potentially extend up to 60 days interest free.

Actually, I consider to contact the CC company to change the billing date to 28th(if not 30th) to max out the interest free days. It'll be up to 110+ days.

          • @Neoika: Wow, hardcore saver! Respect!
given interest rates are only 1% so on a $100 bill it’s only about 30ish cent saving, if you can time everything perfectly, like bill date of utility etc lol. And assuming you don’t slip and pay a late fee or something similar.

            • @cloudy: People with mortgage are mostly on 2.5%+ p.a. interest rate.

              • +1

@Neoika: So the 30c saving is actually an extra 75c on the mortgage?
Do that every month for a year and that's a whole $9. That must explain how some first home buyers can still afford to buy in Sydney.

                • @CacheHunter: Can you do that every month though? You only get the (max) 60 days on the first zip purchase. Otherwise it’s pay by end of month. So you can save that 75c once per account lol. The rest of the month is less.

                • @CacheHunter: That's how it works the best in theory. This figure is only based on $100/mth spend. Most people spend much more than $100/mth. Typical interest free days are between 25 to 110 days compared to normally 25 to 55 days. Thus, I try to achieve 110 days.

Is the $20 referral bonus on top of this $20 credit back?

    • +1

It is actually $10, not updated here.

      • Ok thanks!

Is the $10 referral bonus on top of the $20 credit back?

        • I think so, but 100% sure. T& Cs just says "apply through the link", but it is a generic application link. No mention of "Not to be used with other offers".

    • To be eligible for the $20 credit you need to apply for the the new account according to the T&Cs:

      To be eligible to receive this Offer you must, within the Offer Period;
      ● apply for a Zip Pay or Zip Money Account for the first time (“Zip Account”) via the link https://zip.co/ZIPBILL20

This would appear to be incompatible with applying for the new account via a referral link.

      • This is correct.

If you have ubank, you can use bpay to deposit to your account

    • You can try, but I think any banks' Biller Codes are not eligible.

    • +1

You can from a bank account, but not from ZIp.

Sorry, we don't accept payments to this biller.

  • got an electricity bill sitting around, might as well try it. Bloody winter heating bill

  • whats the condition for new customers? What if I recently closed my account?

    • +1

"This Offer can only be redeemed on your first Zip Bill transaction within the Offer Period, which must be $50 AUD or more. If you have previously held a Zip Account, either active or previously closed, you will not be eligible for this Offer."

I think Zip is a pretty good handy money tool, no need to close it.

      • damn. I was hoping i could open again in a year or something to earn those nice new user benefits

        • You can try with a different email. I know St George bank determines a new customer by email only, not real ID.

          • @Neoika: Oh sweet thanks for the info for St George lol

  • I'm existing customer if I do bpay for first time will I get the $20?

    • +2

Not according to the terms and conditions.

      To be eligible to receive this Offer you must, within the Offer Period;
      ● apply for a Zip Pay or Zip Money Account for the first time … and;
      ● successfully complete a transaction of $50 AUD or more using Zip Bills.

They've had a similar Bpay offer for existing customers in the past, so it's possible they'll do it again one day.

  • Ok. After you add zip to Google pay Is there a way to find out what the card number and details are? It would be a better cheaper way to set up direct debits on card to pay bills avoiding the $2.50 fee but I dont think they will tell us it.?

    • I have not set it up yet, but I can image the card info is supposed to be hiden. Otherwise, Zip is not Zip any more?

Don't circumvent the fee. It is ineligible. See similar occasion last month.

  • I'm confused… I was going to pay for my shopping at HFM and Zip was one of the payment options, so I signed up for this deal… then I read it's only for BPay payments? Pretty sure HFM doesn't offer BPay. So this deal is only for payments to a vendor with a BPay number?

    • +2

Zip let you pay any BPay bill with the service. It also has a standard 'credit' product, like Afterpay/LatitudePay etc.

The cashback is only for BPay

      • Thanks! Zip Bills, found it. Is the cashback available for any Zip payment? Or bills only?

  • +1

Has anyone received the $20 credit yet?

    • Received $20 credit within 3 days of paying my license renewal bill

    • Received nothing nearly a week later

    • I used a referral link and only got the $10 :(

  • So no way of using this offer for a YouFoodz purchase?
