    POS?

    • +7

Yeah you have to use it, unless you've already paid online.

      • +1

Took me a minute, but very well played lol.

    • What does that mean? :) Lol

      • +8

        POS = Piece of shit.

POS also means point of sale (aka cash register/eftpos) which is what eug is referring to.

      • Piece of shit? Point of Sale?

      • Piece of shh….steel maybe

        • Hahahhahaha sweet was confused, I knew Point of Sale… but didnt realise that it was used for Piece of Shit as well hahahhahah thanks :)

  • +2

Great, includes a practical amount of knives for most people.

No need for 12 or whatever like most blocks.

    • +7

Feel free to give me any extra "unnecessary" knives you might have.

      • +9

        Turn around for me.

  • +5

By tomorrow means can be bought after midnight?

  • +12

Does anyone know if this RRP is to be believed? Can't find this set anywhere else so not sure if this inflated RRP or good value!

  • +4

Ratings are ordinary on their own website.
They are flogging it for $20 for a reason.
I would expect next to nothing for that price.

    • +38

Sounds like they’re not gonna cut it

  • Not Available to deliver even at this price of $150. Pick up location available 12339 km from my home…deal or no deal ..no stock. Good luck who live closeby of stock available.

    • +2

12339km….? Free pick up from Saudi Arabia?

      • Ha ha don't know was some error in my search but still not available in my area…not able to edit anymore to change the figure…

    Showing 150

fyi .i was in spotlight last weekend gold coast qld they had them on sale for $29 and members got an extra $10 off so same price and they had heaps in stock i looked at them
and thought they are worth $19 only .

  • +2

Anyone who owns the knife can comment on the quality and longevity sharpness of them?

    • +9

I would think they could if they in fact owned one.

    • +4

I owned them for about an hour (via this deal). Wanted them for our holiday unit where we have made do with one $10 scanpan knife and some other dodgy ones for years.

Brought it home, took out one of the knives.. didn’t look like it could cut through butter, and the handle was so flimsy 😳. So I took them straight back. No questions asked.

I ordered this set from Costco straight after - cheapest I could find it (free delivery), but similarly priced at quite a few online stores:

      https://www.costco.com.au/Kitchen-Laundry-Appliances/Kitchen…

I have all Furi knives at home and love them. Feel like these two good knives at about three times as much is going to make me a lot happier every time I use them!

      • @jk thank you for your review and feedback.

I will look into the costco set.

      • Thanks, won't be considering this one anymore

  • +1

It seems perfect time to use my $10 birthday coupon which will turn out this deal to be $9.

On title: "Tefal", on description: "Honwait Industries LTD"

Can anyone confirm this is from Tefal as the french company, or is it from "Honwait Industries" as a Chinese company?

    • +7

      They are made in China.
just like iphone is not manufactured by apple

      • +1

Thanks for the really quick response. I want clarification on the brand, not about where they are made.

        • +4

It says Tefal, so that is the brand. It will be made in China.

        • +3

the brand is tefal, the maker is the Chinese company
click on the ebay link, you will see the actual knife

    • +1

from looking on ebay there appears to be a chinese brand T-fal that looks scarilly similar, mentioning comfort zones etc. dunno if this is helpful ?

      https://www.ebay.com/itm/T-FAL-84248-COMFORT-STEAK-KNIVES-4-…

      • +1

T-fal is what Tefal is known as in the US. What made you say it's a Chinese brand?

        • lots of slightly dodgy looking listings on ebay

  • +4

I can't believe someone report this deal as expired lmao

  • -3

What is Victoria a joke to you lot?

    • +12

      yes

    • +1

Plenty of locations in regional Victoria. You mean metropolitan Melbourne.

    • Glad you figured out

  • +1

These knives are worth $20 and not a cent more.

    • +1

      Yawn

  • tefal is pretty garbage, but you cant beat $19 for various sized butter knifes. lol

  • +1

    Live now.

    • -1

anyway may not be worth,, got 2 sets

      • hope you used the 10GIFT code and saved $20

  • +1

    Ordered one. Thanks OP

  • +1

Everyone's a blade expert all of a sudden LOL! Thx OP, picked up 2 of them…

  • +1

Just ordered one - thank you mate!

  • +1

    Ordered 2. Thanks OP.

  • +17

Can get it for $9 using coupon code 10GIFT

    • Thanks mate!

    • +1

Wow! you saved me $10 bucks. I owe you a coffee!

    • Always read the comments!

      • +1

Bought another at $9, now I can sleep.

    • +1

      Thanks Bobby! Got one.

    • All you Melb people are lucky. Can't C&C here in QLD!

      • Our weather sucks though

        • Only when it’s either side of 25C.

    • Thanks mate…saved $10 with your comment

    • BOBBY!

    • -1

      Thanks mate! Bought 2…

    • Thank you so much mate!!

    • I missed this code :(
but have put it in my post.
      Thanks Bobby!

  • I believe all stock are gone in Metro Melbourne and it's just 1am :D

  • -3

Managed to get 3 for $9 each. Use the BIRTHDAY10 code with unlimited use but you can only purchase 1 at a time. Still have stock in Ballarat & Geelong at time of writing.

  • +1

will someone do a review on these at some point? just so i know what i missed out on

    • +3

Soft steel, dull edge that won't hold, plastic handle, poorly balanced. Averaging less than three stars from five from the thrifty Spotlighters who reviewed their bargain purchase.

All you've missed out on is a cheap, oddly configured knife block to put real tools in.

      • People are just thinking about the supposed discount - once you hold these in your hand, and forget the price, I don't think they will be that impressive

  • Thank you just picked up a set $9, from Geelong they still had stock

  • It looks like Click and Collect is Melbourne only.
    Not available online.

So this means that I can't use the code to get $10 off and pay $19 if I go to physical store in QLD.

  • -8

Pick up only properly not in my 5 km range

  • They don't look that bad - I wouldn't pay $150 for them.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Picked up one for $9. Plenty of stock in my local store.

    • What is your impression of the quality?

      • +2

It looks good. Worth for $19. Haven't used it yet

  • +1

    any stock left in Sydney?

  • Did anyone get a confirmation email?

    • I haven't got a confirmation email, ordered yesterday and hoping to pick up today. Did yours end up coming through?

  • Any post code where stock is there

    • Many stock in QLD stores

      • Any where in Melbourne ?

  • When you click and collect, does your order say “processing” when you go and pick it up?

  • Although we live in VIC, but ordered any way for click n collect from a WA store. After order confirmation I called the store and ask them to ship it as we can't collect.
Still worth the price $9 + $13 for delivery.

  • +1

    code can only use online?

no option after i choose my postcode which is in tasmania

    • That's also what I want to know. Can anyone confirm?

  • +3

Just got email saying order cancelled :(

    • mine as well.. which I never needed anyway,,

  • Picked one up from store. Plastic handle wasn't very impressive to hold but hey its more asethetically pleasing than most 5 bucks knives.

  • +1

Picked 3 up, doesn't make a bad christmas present if in doubt of what to get someone so…. For $19, it's really just average quality, the most expensive thing in there is probably just the knife block which is somewhat decent.

  • +1

The whole $150 thing was so silly it cant be believed at all.
As others have confirmed https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/574036#comment-9469607 these are not great quality, in fact the $7 Kmart block set is better value. BTW No disrespect to you OP, the deal looked good as advertised
So if you missed out, don't worry, you didn't miss anything

  • Anyone happy with their purchase?

After reading a few negative comments I'm in two minds whether to pick mine up at all, only found stock in a store 25km away. The 'ready for pick-up' email said they'd refund automatically if not picked up in 7 days…

  • I think people are comparing this with other $150 knifes
For $9 or $19 I am very happy with them
