Most, if not all, black cards have $15k minimum limit. Pretty normal I think. Platinum generally $6k minimum.

Besides, the limit makes no difference if you only have it for 2 months

  • If they decline; will they offer you platinum instead?

Anyone want to talk about opening the nice ANZ black packaging with all the card welcome info and t&c's only to find the card wasn't packed inside.

    • Yeah, I got the email over 2 weeks ago saying the card will arrive within 5 days, yesterday I finally got that hefty package in the mail, and the card still wasn't there.

      • Was that intentional or an error?

      • I got approved the 20th, welcome pack arrived 28th, pin 30th and card 4th. Card was stamped with an earlier date than the pin though so feeling like Auspost is to blame.

  • Also received a big set of pamphlets and documents in a folder without the card.

Seems like a waste to me as it just went in the bin.

It's clearly getting people's hopes up so not sure delivering this package without the card is a good customer experience.

Those pamphlets and documents usually have their hidden fees and conditions that they can now claim "oh, well we told you about them…" to the unwary!

Applied yesterday afternoon and got approved this morning. That was quick may be because i just refinanced homeloan to ANZ.

    • I did refinance home loan recently too, are you still eligible to get the point?

  • wondering what are you guys redeeming the points for these days? Domestic flight?

    • Hoping for things to get better and to use the points them.

They are useless right now to me

I "love" when there is not enough space to write my full legal name. Like only 15 characters for a last name? Really? Why is it so hard for some people to understand that in many countries people have two surnames, being usually the first from the mother's family and the second from the father's family? And before anyone say that, NO, it is NOT a middle or second name, it's a long surname. Some people add the partner's surname, which, again, is not a middle or second name.

I can't complete the ANZ online application as they say "Please use your full legal name. We’ll use this to verify your ID later.". My full legal name doesn't fit, although I am a customer and have a different ANZ credit card already (and I don't remember having any issues completing the form before, so that's probably a recent change).

    (sigh)

    • Can you apply and eligible for bonus points if you already have anz platinum credit card

      • Waiting for ANZ reply on that.

        • I spoke to ANZ and they said that any promotion of bonus point on credit card is for new customer. I also have an anz platinum card and they said that i am not entitled to bonus points.

          • @sakg: Ok, thanks for the info. I should move to black anyway given the benefits and the break free package.

      • what type of platinum credit card do you have with ANZ at the moment?

mine is ANZ Rewards Platinum, and I talked ANZ staff, I am still eligible to the bonus points when I apply ANZ frequent flyer black.

        • I spoke to them on chat and i was told that if i have any ANZ card then i am not eligible for bonus points. Have you applied for it and did you get the bonus points

          • @sakg: confirmed with ANZ staff, unless you have card in the same family (frequent flyer) such as
ANZ Frequent Flyer Black, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum, ANZ Frequent Flyer Gold or an ANZ Frequent Flyer credit card in the last 12 months

you will be eligible if you have any other type of ANZ card.

          • @sakg: I just applied, and waiting for the response

            • @Harvey zhang: Did you tell them that you are an existing customer. Also let me know how you go with getting bonus points

              • @sakg: ANZ approved frequent flyer Platinum for me, the reason that I didn't get the black card is because I am a bit out of limit for Black card. I am still eligible for the Qantas points and cash back etc.

And I currently have a ANZ reward platinum card. These two cards won't affect each other in terms of getting Qantas points.

                Hope it help.

  • Applied last Tuesday and I am still waiting on an answer … Anyone else in the same boat?

    • I've been waiting since last week , have you got a response yet?

      • +1

They approved after 2.5 weeks but I still haven't received the card …

  • Will they also charge the $50 qantas rewards fee??

Btw, this doesn't seem to be expired yet.

    • Got it. Yes $425 includes that Qantas rewards fee.

  • Does anyone know that paying council fee counts as the expenditure?

    • +2

I paid council rate and that counted towards points. No issues.

      • Thanks!
