Here is a good option for getting the most out of this starter pack. Before you activate make sure you get a referral code from a friend already with Belong or the OzBargain Belong pool for an additional $20 credit.

3 Months 22GB - Activate on the $25 10GB per month plan. When the first payment date comes you'll already have 10GB data plus you get another 10GB (Double Data). After the first payment date switch to the $10 1GB per month plan for the 2nd & remaining months. The first 3 months cost is covered ($25 starter pack credit plus $20 referral credit) and data rolls over every month or can be gifted.

Billing Dates (4th, 12th, 20th & 28th)
Plans are billed on the same date monthly. The time between activation and the next billing date is free.
One month worth of data is credited on activation, and another on your first payment date, 1-8 days later. So you effectively get double data for the first monthly payment at no extra cost. You can then change to a lower rate plan ($10/month) and use the banked data allowance.

Customer Terms

You can cancel your service by notifying us. We’ll cancel your service within 24 hours. It may take up to 24 hours to process your request, so you’ll need to let us know at least 24 hours before the start of the next monthly bill cycle.

Steps to activate SIM once you have bought the starter pack:

  1. Go to this link
  2. Enter the email address and password you'd like to use to sign into your Belong account. Please note: You can only have 1 Belong mobile service per account.
  3. Fill out your details.
  4. On step 3 (Setup your service page), there is a small text which says - Do you have a promo code? Click on that to enter promo code and you will get $20 credit on your next billing cycle.
  5. Fill out the payment details and confirm on the next screen to enjoy your new belong SIM.

      For Existing Customers (2 months 22GB) - Activate the same as above but in a family members name & email. Use your referral code to give yourself $20 credit (2 more months on the $10 plan). Make sure you actually use the sim in a spare phone so you can't be accused of breaching the "Customer Terms". Gift the data to yourself gradually or towards the end of the 3 months.

      • Hi Arthur, a quick question. Do you know if the referral bonus $20 applies to the first bill or the following bills? For example, if I use a $25 state pack to activate $40 plan using a referral code, do I have to pay $15 straight away or $40 will be deducted from $45 ($25 comes with starter pack + $20 referral bonus)?

        Or anyone else know? Thsnks in advance.

  • Customer service confirmed that no double data offer for the 1st month any more. Game is over

    • Looks like you activated on the billing date (12th of the month), so you won’t get double data.
      Billing dates are 4th, 12th, 20th & 28th every month, so you need to activate on the date excluding these to get double data.

      • I always activated sims on the billing date in the past and got bonus data without issue. It is Belong that either changed the system or game rule recently. Customer support replied that apart from referral credit there is no other promotion now.

  • The post says "Data slows to 64 kbps if you use all your monthly allowance". Does it mean I can continue to use the internet after my data runs out but just at a slowly speed?

    • Yes thats right. Belong mobile does not apply data top-ups automatically. But you can still purchase additional data at any time in units of 2GB for $10 each.

  • I activated a sim by selecting $25 plan. On payment page it shows $20 due on 28 Oct 20. So effectively they will charge twice, once upon activation and once on 28 Oct. Also I tried to raise a support request but kept on getting error message that description contains invalid characters. And I can't seem to fix it. So I can't even contact Belong. Very confused and frustrating. Does anyone have the same experience?

  • Can anyone confirm the bonus data? Is there a date we have to activate this by to ensure we get the bonus data?

  • Signed up this morning and couldn't find a place to enter the referral code. I got a response of:
    "We are currently updating our website for better customer experience. Therefore, some functions, such as entering referral codes during activation were not available."
    I emailed then a referral code from the OzBargain pool but they advised it was from a Belong NBN customer and so not eligible.

    Tried with Customer Support again and this time they have asked:
    "- The promo code
    - The mobile number of the person who referred you
    - The full name of the person who referred you."

    Happy to use someone referral if they are happy to PM me the above details.

  • Has anyone used this twice?
    i.e. use it for 3 months belong, port out to kogan for 3 months, and port back in as "new customer"?
    Wondering if this is possible/allowed?
