RRP $430, usually hovers around the mid to high $300’s. I think this is a historic low, if only by a couple of dollars.

Don't waste your time with the logitech

      • Why? The reviews for it are all excellent. But isn't it a discontinued product? It originally came out in 2004!

        • or even the z906's

        • +3

I had them back in the day. Midrange sucks.

        • +10

excellent reviews from people who don't care about audio and just want the boom booms to rumble the room

        • +1

Or look for a 5.1 edifier set if you need 5.1. They have been compared to the Logitech z5500 and have been rated better in every review out there

      • +3

I had the Z5500. Best budget movie setup ever. You can feel the bass and the mids where good, highs where a little off. But most of all, have to say it again because for $299 bac in the day, bass blew everything out of the water at that time. Dat 10inch sub THX with optical DTS… Better than a 8 inch any-day of the week.

I admit the current z906 is a downgrade

    • +2

This is only 2.1, but from every review I’ve read and watched over the last few weeks, nothing comes close to the Edifier for sound quality (music and film) at this price.

      • Is S360DB much better?

        • +1

According to what’s online the physical differences of the S360db are: Planar tweeters, Night-mode and Wireless subwoofer.
The S360db is also tuned to sound more hi-fidelity than the S350db.

Wireless subwoofer allows for more flexible positioning. Night-mode mutes the sub & plays full-range through the satellites to prevent disturbing your room-mates / neighbours.

As with all Edifier models both have adjustable bass & treble knobs so you can do some extra tuning yourself for particular use.

    • +2

z5500 if you need to party and turn things up, must have 5.1, and if you can get it for dirt cheap.

      otherwise edifier for everything else

the logitech sub is loud but is poor quality and plays tones and rumbles but not much else for details and texture. I'd say it's akin to using a crappy vibration motor on a phone which is loose and can only play one tone.

A sub from say Rythmik is like having 3D touch (iPhone) or phones that have the new haptic engines that can simulate clicks and allow you to feel different tactile experiences. It's a world of difference.

  • +3

I have these and they're amazing. Good bass and clarity.

  • Can I connect this with LG OLED TV using HDMI or Digital cable?

    • Optical cable to connect to TV (one is included).

      • +1

Yep included, I own these speakers. Massive, massive upgrade over what Logitech offers. And definitely better than any soundbar below the $700 range. Also they have bluetooth and a remote control. So any time you want to listen to music in the living room, switch to bluetooth and spotify or whatever from your phone.

        • This question can be dumb but can I use it as a subwoofer and connect it to my Yamaha yas 108?
          They both use optical cable.
Or it does completely replace it?

          • +1

@Mi2: I don't think you can have them both connected, not sure. But the Edifier speakers will sound better than the Yamaha 108B, and you'll have a dedicated sub too with these speakers. The great thing about the S360DB, the deal above is for the S350DB, is that the S360DB has a wireless subwoofer, so you can place it anywhere. But you can buy cable extensions I believe for the S350DB if you need to extend the distances to fit. Check the Z Review posted in the original post, I believe Zeos mentions it in his review.

  • +2

listening it while posting, Love it. need some time to open up for sound quality, but its the best for sub1000

    • +4

Not really, there's a large range of studio monitors under $1k that will blow these out of the water

I'm not a fan of Edifier, returned my S2000 Pros after a few weeks. However if you want a cheap setup with good features and decent sound they are pretty good!

      • What did you end up buying instead?

        • +3

Kali LP-6 Studio Monitors but cost a few hundred more at $600 EDIT: $270 each at amazon so $540 total. highly reccomended, probably the best speakers I've ever heard. But yeah studio monitors are a different kettle of fish to these more consumer friendly speakers.

          • +1

@Drpepper666: Appreciate that. Will add them to the research short-list for the next upgrade! Did you buy the six inch or eight inch version?

          • @Drpepper666: Wow, just discovered the Kalis are a lot less expensive than the Edifier S2000 Pros you returned — I really thought you'd be paying more for the better sound.

      • +1

Yep definitely not best sub $1000. It's better than $700 or below soundbars, and better than any speakers in its own price range because of the sub-woofer. But the S360DB itself is better than the S350DB at around $650 when not on discount. And there's definitely a few 2.0 setups that are better sound quality too below the $1000 price range, including a few from Edifier themselves, but if anyone wants a sub-woofer + speakers, yeah the S350DB in its own price range is the best option based on my research anyway.

        • Yeah agreed. Another good brand for similar system is Swan

  • How would one connect both a console (xbox) and TV to one of these?

    • That's a dangerous question to ask. You're probably realising that you need an AV receiver. :-)

      • hmm. thanks. but in that case you would just get separate speakers/sub, not this?

        • Yup, that's why I said it's a dangerous question to ask. It's a slippery slope, and an expensive one. Has been totally worth climbing it for me though. :-)

    • +5

      xbox 2 tv -> tv 2 speakers

      • Does that bypass the tv's DAC an use the speaker's DAC?

Also, for Rocksmith on xbox you need audio to go direct to speakers to eliminate any lag :(

    • +1

If you don't want to splash on a receiver, you can get an optical switcher. That's what I use. It's one in and 4 out. It literally redirects the light when you turn a physical knob. Works fine for my purpose.

      • Do you mean 4 in (tv,xbox, etc) and 1 out (speakers)?

        • +1

Hi, yes that's right. I was away from PC, so didn't have the details. This is the one I have, which seems to be discontinued, but I'm sure there are similar products still available. It's actually only 3 TOSLINK, with one of the inputs being for 3.5mm optical connector.

          https://www.jaycar.com.au/4-way-optical-switch-box/p/AC1675

It's a passive device, so no power required. I believe it probably just redirects the light using mirrors.

  • +1

Previous best deal was $308 Delivered, buried in “insufficient quantity deals”.

This deal is only $11 more & direct from Edifier.
    Good price.

Edit: I did expect the S350db to drop under $300 after the new S360db model came out. $249-$299 would have been nice.

    • +2

Upvote for great deal. Regarding your edit, I disagree. I mean it would be amazing if it drops to that price range, but even at $300 to $500 range, this is the best available in that range. I cannot believe the other day on Prime Day the S360DB dropped to ~$420, I would have jumped on that 100% if I didn't already own these.

      • I missed that deal. $420 is a great price considering its a significant upgrade from S350DB. It would have been better if S360db came with bluetooth 5.0.

        • S360DB does support Bluetooth 5.0, that's one of its extra features over the S350DB. I haven't heard it personally, and while the S360DB does sound better. It's not a significant difference based on my research when I was buying. Otherwise I would have purchased it, I was willing to pay $650 back then if it was a significant upgrade sound wise, but the subwoofer quality is identical, and the tweeters sound better than the S350DB definitely, but not studio monitors of $600+ level. However at $420, if I didn't have the S350DB, it would have been a no brainier for me since I paid $360 for this one.

          • @ThatsCheap: Thanks
Black Friday sales on Amazon AU might see a price drop again on S360DB model.

So S360DB has bluetooth 4.1 with aptx and has bluetooth 5.0 without aptx?

            • @crazyboy: That was wrong of me, my bad. S360DB does not support Bluetooth 5, I actually thought that was one of the differences between them. Oops.

I would be surprised even on Black Friday if the S360DB drops to $420 on Amazon anyway. Some stores might do a deal like that when they have low stock like on Prime Day when a store done that crazy discount. But hopefully we do see a special on it for those interested in it.

  • +3

    Thank you purchased!

    • +1

Awesome. Please feel free to post back with your feedback, especially if you have another setup to compare it to.

      • Will do. Just have the logitech z623's I'm sure there is going to be a huge difference

        • +4

It's huge, enjoy your upgrade. I already went from Z623 to these a while back. I got them from Amazon and I was hesitant for so long whether to get them or not until I saw the Z Review back then, decided to pull the trigger on it even though it wasn't on discount. Wish I pulled the trigger earlier as soon as I set them up and listened to them lol

Oh don't expect a bass (volume) upgrade compared to the Z623, it's around the same level of bass (volume wise), but it's soooo much cleaner! Anyway the real difference is the sound quality of everything else. The mids and the highs, the vocals and the tunes, even gaming with regards to imaging and soundstage they're brilliant on my desktop setup when I can't be stuffed putting the headphones on.

  • +1

Also own these, can confirm they sound amazing and deliver some of the smoothest bass and treble you can get from 2.1, does not distort at very high volume (it thrives).
    HIGHLY recommend for the price.

  • -4

Wow front page, was $380*0.8 = $304 on eBay plus last week and a lot of people bought them, personally I picked up the S360DB deal for the wireless sub

  • Oh well the new PC build just got speakers. Didn't even know I needed them.

  • +4

Damnit! Spent too long looking at reviews of this vs the S360DB and now it's out of stock :(

    • So which one have you decided to buy 350 or 360?

      • +1

Just bought a 350 as it is back in stock for this deal.
The 360 isn't worth the extra ($275 in this case as you can get the 360 for 10% off currently) imo, yeah the sub is wireless and the tweeters are better planar drivers, but the value for money isn't as good because at that price range there is much more competition.

        • Agreed.

  • Well that was quick…Damn thing has aptX support too!

  • Damn i would buy them if they came with covers over the speakers, I don't trust myself using them as computer speakers and not poking them at some point and the sub would be near my feat it be easy to kick and have pets etc.

  • +1

Anyone using these with a Google home? Bluetooth work ok?

    • +1

Own these since January, don't know about using it with google home because i haven't tried but bluetooth works from anywhere in the house connection won't drop out. Something to consider though is that your neighbours can connect to it without a password and i've had the rare occasion where i have just had music playing really loud at a random time, only happened once but still annoying. Dont regret buying them, definitely worth the price.

      • Sweet, thanks. I've currently got a wonderful set of volls hooked up to a receiver, but the Bluetooth on the receiver sucks and causes all sorts of grief.

Thinking I'll put the volls in the shed and replace the lot with a set of these. 369 at Amazon if they don't come back in stock, or eBay I guess will do.

  • -8

Thanks op. bought three units :)

    • -8

      why negs? jealous c$nts

  • Can anyone explain the difference between S350DB and S2000MKIII?
The former comes with a bass unit but the latter doesn't. So it means the latter doesn't need a bass unit and its in-built?

    • The S350DB is a 2.1 set up - 2 speakers and 1 subwoofer.
      The S2000MKIII is a 2.0 set up - 2 speakers only.

      Subwoofer = more dooft dooft.

Not saying the S2000MKIII won't have any bass, but it most likely won't be as hectic as the S350DB.

If you want fully sick dooft, get the S350. Otherwise I'm guessing the S2000 will have better range acoustically (so you're probably gonna hear more details).

Also consider the S2000 seems to have Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD whereas the S350 is on 4.1 with aptX (non-HD). You might be able to tell the difference based on the different Bluetooth codecs used.

      • Thanks for the information.

        As per this comparison video

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOeESRYlSac

I found S350DB to be slightly better in Dream a Dream and much better in Deep (bass heavy) than S1000DB. In others it was either similar or S1000DB was better (Tested using Bose QC25 headphones).

The woofer driver is smaller in S350DB than S10000DB. So I am inclined towards S1000 or S2000 but additional sub woofer seems a better deal in S350DB.

        Also, design wise S350DB wins.

Does the bluetooth codes affect sound quality in any way?

    • S350DB is only better than S2000MKIII in the bass. S2000MKIII is much ahead in the rest.

  • These look great and would fit perfect for my TV setup if I go 2.1. I wish hey had ARC like the klipsch fives

  • +1

    these are back in stock

    • Should stack with 10% off Halloween sale.

    • Thankyou!! So glad they added more stock :)
Also fyi it doesn't stack with the 10% off Halloween sale as that is only 10% off full price products.

  • I have a Swan M10. Should I sell and get these instead?

    • I sold my M10s recently. I have a good feeling these will definitely provide more oomf to your sound. The M10s were quite underwhelming in my opinion. Never quite having enough power and the bass was lacklustre. Not sure why there was so much rage over them.

  • +1

Back in Stock now. I just ordered one. :)

  • +1

    Back in stock at $319.99

  • Back again :) $319.99

    • Really, how did I missed out again.

      • It's back, go go go

    • Out of stock again.

  • Pretty blown away by this thing for music. Sold my Sonos Arc/sub/2 x One system a month ago (yes, i know, sound bars for music :/) but this thing more than fills the void. Would have been happy if was coming out of a $500+ system.
