The Dreame D9 is mostly similar to the F9 size, 35cm x 35cm x10cm. This is purposely designed to house the LiDAR navigation system which means greater accuracy in navigation; unlocking advance map memory and room recognition functionality such as multi-rooms and selected area cleaning, virtual walls, vaccum no-go zones and mop no-go zones.

Dreame D9 will have Multi-maps ( upto to 3 maps) support via firmware update. This will allow Dreame D9 to map and operate on multiple levels within the same house.

Other key hardware features of the Dreame D9 includes:

4 levels of suction mode with up to 3,000Pa of suction power.

5,200mAh battery for up to 2.5hours of operation time; and extended further when combined with “Smart Top-up” function. This feature enables the Dreame D9 to top-up for more power during a cleaning session; and continue the clean when the appropriate level of battery is reached.

Kogan is offering same item for $399.

    Will Gearbite price match?

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/xiaomi-dreame-d9-dls-robot-vacu…

    • Hi, we sell Australian version, be mind that Kogan version can not use app in Australia. Australian version can use in Oceania country like Australia and New Zealand.

      • +2

Doesn't it use the Xiaomi app and china server like the first gen mirobot?

      • i have F9 from you guys and my xiaomi app is set to China mainland and the device works fine. I can set the server to Australia but then i'll lose the F9 and have to re-add again.
So im not sure why this Kogan version will not work here in Australia if it uses the same xiaomi app. Please if you could provide us more details about it? And also any price match for this as your price is a bit steep ($579 vs $399). Thanks

        • Hi, F9 is different model as they did not set this up, Dreame only start to set up different country version for Dreame D9. Just a reminder for customers as we have been told by them, you can check first picture on the description. Here

          • +2

@Gearbite: yeah it says it can be sold and used only in Oceanian countries like AU. So isn't yours supposed to be cheaper because it will only work on those countries? Whereas the Kogan one is international version, i assume they wont sell it here if the app won't work.
Anyway, it's up to the buyers which one they want to buy. but for me, it pretty much look like they're the same model. and the price difference is huge.

            • +3

@clartan2015: Yer so since its the same product is there any chance of a price match or price beat Gearbite?

              • @storageguy: i will double check if kogan sell D9 or F9 and will update once we find out.

        • clartan

          • So Au Version of F9 is set on China Mainland region ?
          • Is app in chinese ?
          • What do you mean by you will loose F9 is younchange server to Australia ?

Kogan price is very tempting but this app thing is confusing me.

          • @ChipsChicky: Yes - my xiaomi app is set to mainland china
            App is in english
Since my device is "registered" on mainland china, setting the app to a different server makes my F9 disappear from my account. I assume because their servers are not sync'd on what devices you have on your account.

Kogan replied to my query yesterday and this was their reply:

"After looking into this for you I can confirm that this robot vacuum is an international version that is verified as working in Australia.

Furthermore, I can confirm that this will come with an Australian compliant power source.

Xiaomi products can be controlled via the Mi Home app, which is free to download on iOS and Android devices.

I hope that helps, and if there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know."

            • @clartan2015: Thanks … Does this makes any difference if its registered in Mainland China or Australia ?
Can you use it normally via app (with all functions) even if its registered in China ? I am unable to relate this registered in china part with working part of D9.

              • @ChipsChicky: Yeah the app controls the device fine even with the server set to mainland china. I got mine set to China because im trying to get the token code to get it working with my Home Assistant. I didnt try to register it to Australia due to that reason(havent been successful with that Home assistant yet lol)

                • @clartan2015: Ahan …. Thanks … Seems than Kogan will work fine in Australia … No idea about this Home Assistant and token thing, whats that ? 🤪

  • Its also available in Amazon US for $280 usd

    https://www.amazon.com/DreameTech-Robotic-Cleaner-Navigation…

    • USD,375 after gst etc

  • +2

So same vacuum cleaner and same functionality as kogan but $200 more cause you are selling it to Australians !!!
    Chinese marketing these days !

    • +3

i will double check if kogan sell D9 or F9 and will update once we found out.

      • +4

They selling the d9 and I prefer buying from you as you're active here but at this price difference, I had to buy from kogan

        • +2

Am holding off hoping gearbite can do something. Might grab 2 if it comes down.

  • @Gearbite

I am having same issues mentioned in the above posts.

    1. I had to reset my unit at least 5-6 times as it lost its path and could not return back to the dock. I picked it up and put it on charging and after that whenever I tried to run a clean it just moved a bit and after a minute or so say cleanup finished. Tried everything. The only option is to wipe the device.

    2. Adds an anonymous area in the maps, again having to delete the maps twice.

    3. We were advised that the firmware update will be available soon but haven't seen one.

I had Roborock S5 and S6 and never had these issues. Please can you advise what is the process to get a refund as this doesn't work and I cannot keep on going to reset the unit every few days.

    • update should available shortly. If can not fix, you can alway contact us.

      • Hey, at $399 this robovac should ideally be sold like a hot cake but many like me are sceptical.
Any clue when is the firmware tentatively scheduled to roll out?

      • I have this same problem, is there a firmware fix yet?
My vacuum keeps losing position and map gets reset

        • firmware will available within 2 weeks time.

  • Thanks for all the reviews. So would you guys recommend this product or not ?

    • ATM from the reviews there seems to be some problem with the firmware regarding mapping. Dunno about it but if it can perform up to Roborock s5 Max standards then it would be a good buy i suppose. Hope the price comes down as well though. They said that there will be a firmware fix so hopefully that will clear up the problems. Still considering to buy it as it looks pretty good so far aside from some issues.

    • It is amazingly powerful. My mapping issues for the moment have fixed.

  • Can someone enlighten why everyone is looking Gearbite to pricematch instead of buying from Kogan ? Warranty Claims, after services etc ? I have no experience with both.

    • +4

Gearbite has better customer service than shady Kogan.

      • Doesn't look like it's happening though :(

        • I would buy two if they price matched

          • +1

@JustLooking4ADeal: I ended up cancelling Kogan and went. S5 max

            • @EnergicAU: nice! same here - i got the International version though as i missed the earlier bargains for the AU version :( Were you able to grab one of those $561?
i feel like Dreame is still new in this field and needs to tweak more on their firmware updates.

              • @clartan2015: Yeh for the price difference, I thought
                1) solid firmware
                2) good reviews
                3) abundance of parts and accessories
                4) tried and tested

It was worth the extra for the S5 without taking the risk. Got the Aust version after missing out on catch of the days s5

  • @Gearbite can you tell if this has problems with mirrors as in one of the comments? because my apartment has mirror wardrobe doors in almost all rooms.

    • +1

Will check and get back to you.

    • I don't have the d9, but it really shouldn't. I have the original Xiaomi one and it's fine. Also runs along our glass balustrade and only tries to turn when it gets to the gaps in the glass.

  • I have the F9 and just upgraded the firmware. Does anyone know what changed with this update? I was on 3.5.8_1024 and the new version is 3.5.8_1039. It says fixed known bug and optimised cleaning experience but that doesn’t explain much.

    • Fix bugs, much improve positioning and automatic map update. Carpet boost added.

      • +1

Thanks! Should I reset my map and re-map after this update?

        • I did not do re-map after update, please try clear cache at mi home/profile/setting/clear cache and then restart machine and APP. Carpet boost is at Experimental features section.

      • Carped boost and automatic map update are not added to 1039, they will come with the next update as you said on page 3.

  • +2

Bring on the firmware updates… I'm ready through mine out the window due to mapping issues.

    • Hey mate, could you please update on here when the firmware comes through. I am on the fence at the moment about getting quite a few of these machines for family. Basically waiting for the greenlight to see if firmware fixes these issues! Really appreciate it, thanks (in advance)!

      • +1

Been told new update will available soon, will update here once have new information.

        • Hello. I have a suggestion adding dry mopping
as the option is missing from Dreame D9. Watching and reading the reviews, i see that we can choose between three water levels: low, medium and high. Would be great if the future firmware update adds the fourth setting - Off. Turning off the water completely does give the possibility of dry-mopping, for example like we have seen on Roborock S5 Max.

Can you pass the word to the Dreame team so they can make it happen? Would be great, and i think it would be a simple thing to change in the firmware. Didn't know where else to write this suggestion, as not much places discuss about Dreame D9. My Dreame D9 arrives in a couple of days, can't wait :)

          • +1

@Gizmo123: I will pass to dreame team.

        • I hoped carpet boost for the F9 would be released three working days after the last update. Any word when the F9 firmware update will come?
Will the 'manual assign room' and 'no-mop-zone' be added to the F9?

          • @Dreckbaer: 'manual assign room' and 'no-mop-zone' still not confirm when will available, will update once have more information. Regarding carpet boost, please check at experimental features.

            • @Gearbite: Thanks for you far answer @Rep.
I don't have the option for carpet boost in the experimental features. I cleared cache as advised but _1039 doesn't provide carpet boost.

              • @Dreckbaer: Strange, did you update your mi home app, it may help.

                • @Gearbite: App is up to date. The firmware of the Dreame F9 is 3.5.8_1039. Positioning works great since last week's update (even in very low light conditions) but there is no carpet boost…
Last time we talked you said it will be released in 3 working days - but i haven't received another update after _1039. Is _1039 the current version?

                  • @Dreckbaer: Same here, just waiting for the next update now for carpet boost.
Does anybody know, will it be possible in an future update to schedule cleaning of just specific rooms? At the moment we can just schedule the whole map or nothing.

                    • +1

@geeuz: So also you don't have carpet boost. Good to know that I'm not the only one… Shame that the communication from Dreame directly is really bad - I wrote them twice already but didn't get any answer.
Luckily @Gearbite Rep is really good and customer friendly!

    • Will submit new firmware updates this week, should able to download around 2 weeks time.

    • +2

Firmware 3.5.8_1072 should ready this week.

      • @Rep. Is the firmware for the D9 or the F9?

        • +3

          D9

          • @Gearbite: I hope it comes soon because I’m losing my mind over these mapping issues. Since getting it, probably remapped ~10 times already because the D9 just decides I have extra non-existent rooms. Zero change to home layout and charging base position.

            Still on firmware 3.5.8_1058

      • Hello. Can you confirm is it out? I still can't see any update in the app, says that the 3.5.8_1058 is the latest. Thanks.

        • +1

Just got the firmware tonight! 3.5.8_1072

Will test out for a week and report back

  • I'm surprised at the differences to my original Xiaomi robot.

It could sense when it was running along glass like our balustrade or a window and not keep running into it. Is the lidar different on the d9?

    • +2

Yes, newer version ladar system. New firmware will keep improving collisions with walls or furniture by firmware update, new firmware update will improve below.

      1. Map bugs
      2. accurate positionning
      3. improvement on carpet boost features
4.fix some bugs and improve route effiency
5.More reliable system and new APP interface.
      • Thanks. Strange that the lidar has gotten worse then at realising there is glass there. Hopefully will be fixed up.

  • Do you have spare mop pads in stock? Seems like it would be a good thing to have two of.

Also it says to wash them. Can this be in the washing machine or only by hand?

The manual also says to ensure the air hole in the water tank isn't blocked, but the cover on my water tank inlet definitely doesn't have a hole in the bottom side of it like the illustration.

    • yes, on the way, should be ready in 2 weeks time.

      • Thanks. Anything on the other questions?

  • @Rep Do you have any news for us about the next Dreame F9 firmware update?
Do you have any new information concerning release date and new functions?

    • +1

      Did you update to 1039?

      • Yes. The day it released.
Do you have any information about the next Dreame F9 firmware update?
I'm waiting for carpet boost and manual assign room.

        • +1

Carpet boost should available at 1039, please check at experimental features. Regarding manual assign room, still under testing. Will update once have any information.

  • There is no carpet boost available for me and others in this thread.
I cleaned cache, reinstalled app, did a factory reset on the robot. But no carpet boost…
    See also: https://imgur.com/a/qjitx8B

Edit 1: tested right now on Lenovo tablet carpet boost is available but NOT AVAILABLE on Xiaomi Mi8
Edit 2: downgraded Mi Home on my Mi8 to version 5.8.33 now carpet boost is showing up! Thank you for your patience @Rep!

    • +1

Great to hear that. Will update regarding manual assign room once have update.

    • +1

Good catch! I have the same situation on my Mi 9T Pro, I have no carpet boost. I already cleared cache/data and reinstalled the Mi Home App, but still nothing. But my wife can see it on her iPhone 7.
It seems to be related to Xiaomi Phones …

  • Yes, it seems to be a problem on Xiaomi phones…
Update: Manually upgrading to Mi Home 5.9.19 (not offered to me via playstore) also resolves the problem with carpet boost not showing up.

    • +1

I can confirm, got that Mi Home 5.9.19 Update a few minutes ago directly from Playstore, carpet boost is now there. Thanks

  • 5.9.19 was not available for me via the playstore - It offered me v5.8.58 as latest version - I had to download the .apk of 5.9.19.
But yes it really seems to be the version of 'Mi Home' that's responsible for the carpet boost function to show up or not.
Maybe @Rep can inform Dreame about this bug.

    • +1

      Will let them know this.

  • New firmware is up now (v1072). Let's see how it goes. Just lists big fixes and update to its pathing I think.

    • Mine hasn't updated yet, must be staged.

      • Same here - cant seem to update it just says 'current version is the latest'

  • +1

    Very disappointed with updates.

Still doing the same things. Gets confused if it gets stuck in another room and forgets where the base is when this occurs, resulting in having to remap the house very often.

The map should save and it shouldn’t forget it’s charging base position.

When it’s working it’s great, but there are too many times I feel like throwing it out the window that I think I will shortly.

    • Please try to del the map and then remap. Please let me know if still have same problem, I will report to Dreame.

      • You need to report to Dreame that it needs to save its charge location on the map. So when it gets stuck somewhere it doesn’t get confused and forgets where the charge location is.

This happens every time it gets stuck in a room, which is happening quite often.

I have to remap every single time and honestly the new map may last two cleans before this issue happens again.

        • If get stuck, then click you resume to clean, it should Repositioning. Please send me more detail by Oz message, I will happy to forward to them.

          • @Gearbite: My version is 1058, it says latest update is installed.

What happens is it starts to reposition itself but can’t find its way back and then asks to be put back on charging base.

Is my version not the most recent update? Why does the app say it is?

I am using the app on a new iPhone.

            • @ImpulseMan: New version is 1072, will check when it will available to everyone.

              • +1

@Gearbite: Should ready to everyone 1week time.

  • My robot was purchased in early November and worked very well. Now it’s gone mad. It stops off at the same point every clean and now has started to make random maps. And now can’t find its way to the dock. I have tried for weeks to get a hold of gearbite but with little to no traction. Via phone, email and messenger.

I’m seeking help to repair, provide a new one or refund.

    • Hi, have you update new firmware 1072 and remap. If problem still there, please contact me by Oz message with your order no, I will happy to help.

      • Most of us do not have the option to update to 1072 yet, only few people have it. Why is that, can you explain? It is annoying, if the firmware is ready and tested, just release it to everyone at once…

        • My app says the latest version is updated - 1058.

      • States update is current and now I’m clearing the map every second day as the robot now gets lost and does not clean the house. Just the same room for an hour. I want a full refund or a new robot. My order number is 9564 and i want a full refund or new product as per the terms of this site and your warranty. I’ve tried to contact you direct many times over a number of weeks and have had little to no response.

        • +1

Yea, very annoying, i am afraid to clean the whole apartment because i will lose the map… So i only clean two areas, kitchen and living room, that way it seems to work okay… This is beyond rude from Dreame, they promised an update and now what? Where is the damn update?

We have a product that does not work as intended. Just push the update to people, why are we waiting? We need to talk directly to someone at Dreame, this pigeon messaging over Gearbite representative is frustrating…

          • @Gizmo123: I will double check when it will available to everyone.

        • Did you update to 1072 , if still have problem, please contact me at Oz message, I will follow up your case to our team regards return.

          • @Gearbite: I cannot contact you via oz message as I need to be on here for more than 24 hours. I’ve tried contacting you via messenger, phone and email and no response. I want to activate my warranty or return.

            • @Ariches6: Hi, we did receive your message and reply, I have pass your message again. Our team should follow up tomorrow.

            • @Ariches6: Did you update to 1072.? If your house over 20 meters, please try to put your charging dock in the middle of your house, it may help.

              • @Gearbite: There is no update available. My vacuum is a dud. It cleans one room for an hour. It no longer has the ability to design a map or follow a map. It has lost suction. I have requested a return as per you warranty so why won’t you honour it?!
