This has been around for a long time

    • Yup. It was the same price last month when I checked. Not a deal.

    • Oh yes mine is just about to finish, so will look for another provider.
The biggest Issue I had with the network (TPG) in general is the ping, as they only use PPC1 for everything.
If you want the fastest route to Europe or UK or Singapore even, you don't use AJC or anything else. It goes all the way to the US in most cases and then onwards to Europe or UK, or via the Philippines to Singapore. Pretty bad pings for gamers playing overseas servers (other than the US) as they use PPC1.
However, their vlan network works great for everyday use for Australian and US services with good pings as well !, well worth the price if your not gaming overseas !
Also, their South African support IMO is great !

      • so if you are an avid gamer which ISP would be best then?

I went them 12 months ago, slow internet that rubber bands you in games. (profanity) internode

      Welcome to TPG NBN.

    • not sure why you got down voted.

was with tpg as well lag was redicolus as you mentioned. imagine playing poe on au servers and ping spiking every 1-2 second to 900+.
call them up few times and every time nothing done and got told that is the best internet they can provide which was dog shit for fttp.
eventually had to get tio involved to break the contract.

moved to aussiebroadband few years ago. 0 issue.

    • Agree. I had issues with dropouts and they always blamed my router (ER-X). Moved to Superloop and ABB with zero issues. Thinking of moving to FBB.

Make sure you de-select the "Fetch Pack" as it has a "$59.99 payable upfront". Dodgy ass, forces it to be ticked.

For the non-gamer.. internode OK? $60/month for NBN50 seems pretty good deal post superloop freebie.

  • It’s a fixed term contract too. Can’t get out if need to change

      $40 break out fee

      • Hmm $40 to get out after 6 months… effectively this is just 5 months @ $59.99 + $79.99 on the 6th month if you include the $20 referral.

        • +1

Do Internode have a referral system?

          • @OzyBe: Oh crap no they don't. Sorry was thinking of Belong for whatever reason!

        • +1

          It's a 6 month contract.
$40 breakout fee if you wan to cancel within 6 months.
After 6 month, you should be out of contract so there's no fee to pay

          • @Bargain80: True true. Sorry it was late last night when I commented.

@CVonC: I just cancelled internode on completion of 6 months. The internode guy told me to have the connection for one additional day and I then dont have to pay the fee. And the charges will be just for one day.

              • @djsydney: I also need to churn.
6th Invoice Date 06 Oct 2020, just paid; Billing Period 27 Oct 2020 to 26 Nov 2020 billed in advance.
When should I move to new provider please? Confused.

                • +1

@Kanjus: Call them up. And tell them you need to cancel. They will explain abt the break fee. So to avoid you just need to be with them for one extra day(only will be charged for that extra day).

In parallel, talk to another provider and schedule the connection for that day.

internode are really really bad my 2c

    • Telstra is really really bad my 0.1c

      • better speeds though…

They were one of the best ISPs in Aus IMO, then the TPG / iiNet juggernaut consumed them and they literally overnight went to s**t

Never again will I be a customer of that horrid pile conglomerate

TPG, iiNet, Internode, Adam and now Vodafone can DIAF

  • how do you guys switch nbn providers before the 6 month runs out?

    • +3

Tell the existing provider to turn off the billing switch on the last billing date.

Tell the new provider to turn on the switch on the above billing date.

      Switching process is completed

      • I churned to Internode recently. They were unable to co-ordinate the NBN transfer so I did not forfeit a day from my existing plan.

I asked if they can schedule the churn for a specific day, and they said no.

I went ahead anyhow, as I would prefer to lose a day, then have no internet at all.

When I churned to Aussie Broadband earlier, they were able to offer this service.

Not a biggie, just thought it unusual Internode could not do something like this in the age of NBN.

  • I am on this plan, due to expire - and I need to churn.
6th Invoice Date 06 Oct 2020, just paid; Billing Period 27 Oct 2020 to 26 Nov 2020 billed in advance.
When should I move to new provider please? Confused.

    • before looking into this internode, someone in other forum suggested Future Broadband.
not as cheap as the Internode contract price, but seems okay if you don't need unlimited data.
      Also they have referral program.

      • looks good, but set up fees $55.
Looking at Harbor ISP business NBN - as I want 100/40 $89 per month unlimited
