Might be a good option for those looking to Port Out of Telstra for a month and then back in via JB Hi-Fi for the GC

    • +3

Why would you do that when there’s cheaper prepaid and postpaid options?

    • +1

No it wouldn't. Starter packs for next to nothing are.

    What if you're a student?

    • +25

Then you need to go to school and study

      • +3

But don't go if you have the rona

    • Vodafone don't have any student deals right now.

  • Any 5G on this?

    • +2

      This isn't Telstra.

Both Vodafone and Optus are including 5G as standard on all their plans. That being said Vodafone's 5G coverage is much more limited right now compared to Optus/Telstra.

      • -3

Telstra now also includes 5G in all of the post paid plans, without any additional charges.

        • +1

Didn't Telstra recently jack up the prices on all their plans? So the additional charges are effectively hidden now.

        • +2

It says no 5G access under $55 plan.

        • +1

No 5G on the ‘small’ $55 postpaid plan…

        • No, my plan has gone from $35 to $55 now, and 5g is not included (you need to pay $65pm for 5g) no other choice that’s it, unless I go to another provider.

      • +1

Still no 5G on the $55 per month 40GB small plan and the $40 per month 2GB extra small plan.

Likewise the small and extra small data plans also don't have 5G.

  • Would also be worth noting that all plans are currently discounted and feature increased data (except for the ultra plan which is only discounted).

  • 2mbs?

    • Shaping after Data allowance

  • anyone know if esim is possible on this?

    • I guess yes, since all post paid plans have the option of eSim.

    • +1

Yes, I ported to it last week and chose an eSim option during the sign up process to use with the Pixel 4A

      • thanks!

  • Is the $5 discount only valid for 12 months?

  • +1

Looks like you need to get a phone too with this plan? SIM only doesn't offer the $5 discount

  • Does anyone know if this is for current customers aswell?

  • The $5 discount also apply to sim only plan.

I wont worry about discount after 12 months as likely better deal in the market.

Strange thing is I have not seen any reaction from Optus after the recent announced promote both from telstra and voda. In a sense they are now the most expensive non mvno in the market.

Extra $5 gets calls and txt included.

Extra $10 gets 10Mbps shaping as well.

    • Wish my home internet is shaped at 10Mbps. I can hardly call that shaping at my speeds lol

Note that you can get the Samsung A11 for an extra $1 per month if you're signing up for 12 months - https://shop.vodafone.com.au/mobile-details/samsung-galaxy-a…

I'm sure it's nobody's first choice of phone, but if you're signing up already it's not a bad throw-in.

    • Well that's definitely the better deal then.

If you need a lot of mobile data I'd check out Circles.Life, $38/month for 100GB on Optus network. Currently discounted to $28/month for the first six months.

Probably worth putting in the description to mention unlimited data in these plans

  • Why I go to change plan it says it’s only 10gb?

  • How does it work with cashback from CR? Says 65%, is it per month you stay connected or a one of after 90 days?

  • What’s Vodafone like outside Gold Coast, when travelling Qld, Northern Nsw?
