Just see it in the leaflet from my local IGA, East brisbane.

other things:
Banana 4.99/kg
Bacon 5.99/kg
Boneless leg ham 7.99/kg
Whole rump 5.99/kg

edit just want to add, it's a leaflet separate from catalogue as on Thu (once a month), they have
a market day to sell something speacial. That why I assume it should be on other stores too.

  • link doesn't point to the deal ???

    • You need to go to the catalogue and select your location. If you set it to East Brisbane, you will see the Coke special. BTW, the special is on until the 27th. Have updated title.

      • not in Melbourne… :(

        • i miss the days of 50c and sub 50c cans of coke.

        • it's been a while since the Coles or Woolies had them this cheap… close to a year i think…

    • -1

"it is just sugar and water afterall"

  • +1

Good deal, The punitive question though, IS IT AVAILABLE AUSTRALIA WIDE!?!? =)

    • not in Melbourne…

    • +4

I think you meant to write: the pertinent question. Punitive has to do with punishment. :)

      • -1

        he didn't whip you ???

    • looks like it's Brisbane only

    • Not in the Sydney catalogue either

      • +2

        • …and i even have to pay more for my bananas… :P

        • I think they were actually $6.99…

        • you get negged for just commenting

only by those envious of my charm and quick wit…

    • Went to Vic Market on Sunday, bananas are $5/kg, $5/kg in Coles, $4/kg at Gangemi Fruit, Barkley Sq. Vic.

      • really? i bought 3 kg at $3.99/kg…on Friday coz its like u found the bargain of the year. seeing how it was $16 at its peak.

        • Yeah, I've only ever been on a Sat/Sunday. Mangoes were quite popular and I scored a lettuce for $.50. I should go there on a weekday when it's less crowded and compare prices.

  • -2

50c for a 375 mL can is a bargain? That's $1.33/L, and you've got to buy 11.25L of the stuff to get that price!! The only people who buy these 30 packs are the food industry (take-away shops/pizza shops) who rip off customers by charging $2.50 for a can.

    • +3

      50c for a 375 mL can is a bargain?

yep, can you find a can of coke cheaper ???

      • -5

I can find you Coke cheaper - buy a few big bottles instead of so many smaller cans. Works out cheaper per litre.

        • +6

I can find you Coke cheaper

this deal is for a can of coke, can you find a cheaper price per can ???

i only buy cans, not bottles…

        • Kind of difficult to bring a 2L coke to uni/going out though.

        • -1

Have you never heard of pouring the Coke into a smaller bottle?

        • +9

.. A freshly opened can will always taste better than pouring into smaller bottles.

        • -6

I find with soft drinks the fizz lasts weeks once a bottle is opened. Just close the lid tight. It really isn't much of an issue with a 1.25L bottle.

        • +2

I knew some one would suggest that, if you go on a first date like that, I doubt you'll ever see her again.

        • What are you suggesting JLove? I don't get your comment about the date.

        • +1

What I am saying is that certain things are only really suitable for certain events.

        • +1

why don't you buy sugar, food coloring, and "almost free" water from your tap and make homemade cola? Works out cheaper!!! :P

        • You'd still have to buy plain mineral water to make it carbonated so it would come out being more expensive.

    • The only people who buy these 30 packs

      this is a 10-pack, not a 30-pack

      • +3

LOL jv gets negged whether he writes something good or bad, I like it.

  • +2

I buy cans because it is convenient and they chill down quickly. They are a rip though, should be cheaper than buying the 1.25L bottles.

    • +3

i buy them because i might only have one a week… or as a mixer with scotch…

a bottle would just go flat after a few days…

      • +5

Same as me. Cans are far better as mixers imo. Always fizzy.

      • Wicked story bro, you should tell it way more often.

  • -6

Disappointing.. IGA has something like 20% of grocery marketshare - yet still acts like a tiny chain of stores.

Make these deals across Australia.. give Victoria some sweet black gold texas tea.

    • +3

yet still acts like a tiny chain of stores.

      most stores are independently owned…

    • You get your cheap beer and we don't neg that!

  • Market Day is on at the following stores that I know about:

    Evans Head
    Burnett Heads
    North Buderim
    Noosa
    Cooroy
    Crestwood
    Stanthorpe
    Mount Coolum
    Regents Park
    Pottsville
    Birkdale
    Maleny
    All Walters stores
    Gatton
